  • Rachel! I am SO jealous of your travels! It sounds like an awesome time. I would love to do something like that. I went to Costa Rica for 6 weeks after college and Jamaica for a week in college. That's about it. Of course, hubby still thinks that down the road we can still live on a boat for a year. Would be interesting…
  • On my agenda for today: sleep! In 2-3 hour bits, but preferably all day long! It's 11 and I'm just done being up for the 4th time since midnight... Or is this the 5th? I can't really complain... Gabriel is not very fussy or a crier unless he's hungry. My other task fir the day is to make hubby get some cleaning done. He's…
  • I know really?! I don't like to share my shower. I'm all about the water spout being all for myself! Plus we've always had really tiny showers (remember, we lived in an RV for 2 years!). Showers are my alone time!!
  • I was so frustrated this morning. Buck woke up like 20 minutes before my alarm went off at 6:30 so I fed him (which turned out to be pumped then fed him), got him changed, went back to sleep for about 20 minutes, then got up again to refeed him a little because he was fussy and to get his shot done and him back to bed and…
  • um.... i had no shower days BEFORE kids... OK i have to get off here and get to sleep. I ended up working until 10. Ick. I haven't quite put in full days Mon, Tues, Wed this week though so I guess I could consider it making up some extra hours. I have an 8am apt, but at least it's here in town. I can't bring the baby…
  • Lynn - great job on the weight loss! Eek, they left your staples in that long?! That had to be uncomfortable! They took mine out before I left the hospital and put what I compared to weather stripping over the suture. Julie - you so look pregnant. I didn't get to bask in any pregnancy pitty since I apparently also started…
  • Sounds like my house except hubby often annoys me by sitting and watching TV while I am working and dealing with the boy.
  • Try Ammens powder. It's in the foot care isle at CVS or Walgreens or on of those stores, or you can get it online. It's the same active ingredient as butt cream, but it's a powder so it's easier to put on a bleeding, raw bottom. Not an overnight cure but it worked well for me with my first.
  • Hubby doesn't like Gabe, but I told him when he picked it that he'd have to be OK with me using it because I'm lazy and when he's older won't call his full name every time . But for now it's Gabriel. Actually... Gabriel and Buck. I don't think my son is going to call him anything other than Buck so it's sort of…
  • Yeah. He was born w no pulmonary artery and has a hole in his heart. Incredibly, they are going to build him an artery out of secondary veins that developed to oxegenate his lungs. Initially we thought he'd have to have open heart surgery this week but they're waiting until he's bigger. Also incredible they can operate on…
  • They sent us home today! It's too bad that that doesn't just mean he's healthy and done with all that, but at least he'll be bigger for the really hard stuff. He's pretty much a normal baby for the next few months - other than some meds, a shot twice daily, some follow up apts and a bunch of stuff to watch for... I am sure…
  • protein intake # is a minimum you should meet, not a max you should stay under.
  • Along with the photo in my profile, these two. The first is from just after I graduated college, from the summer I spent in Costa Rica. The other is the following year (2005) when I lived in AZ. Probably around 140/145 and of pre-baby proportions. I hit 145 once since then, but not for long. I'd like to get back there, or…
  • Lynn - your story is great! I felt like a "failure" with a C/S with my first and even 4 yrs later still feel it a little, but he was healthy so that's all that mattered. I felt a little like a failure going into this one too because I had wanted remotely natural and ended up being hooked up to everything and feeling like…
  • Hey all! I'm due today!
  • hey all! I'm back. We're doing well all things considered.
  • Hey guys - I have crossed over . Not exercising yet but watching what I eat (somewhat...) Hoping that BFing works in my favor until I can hit the gym again - which might be a couple months, especially depending on Gabriel's condition and surgery schedule. I was up 30 lbs at my highest preg weight and a week post I…
  • Thanks everyone for all of the thoughts and prayers. It looks like actually Gabriel might come home this weekend and theyll do surgery when he's a little bit older. Maybe 3 months. So that will make me paranoid I'm sure, but glad he's stable enough to do si. It's incredible to think they can send home a baby that has no…
  • Finally on a computer not my phone! This will probably be long... Wed I had high blood pressure at the Drs (something over 97), but I attributed it to the rush of getting to the apt 45 mins away only 50 minutes after I woke up! But it was still high when I was leaving the office and there was protein in my urine so I had…
  • I lost my plug after labor stArted w my first. It reminded me of a cigarette butt that lost the wrapper and went through the washer and dryer. Midwife pulled it out thistime stripping membranes inducing. I had tons of contractions this time round. Especially when working out. I'd get them prob 6 - 7 times in the hour…
  • Aww Lynn, congrats! I had a tankini from Liz Lange for target. It's a few years old though so dont know if they still carry it. The bottoms gave out and I used my regular old bikini bottoms. The top covered all my bump until about 35 wedks then it showed but I didn't care. I swam laps early morn not lounging around in too…
  • I'm pretty sure today is Wednesday... Which means... Hoping she didn't have to go more than 24 hours Lynn should have had her baby last night! I'll be stalking today in hopes they have a phone w wifi for an update! Even though I know she'll be on mag and feel like crap all day...
  • Wow Lynn! Our stories sound so simar! I'll post mine when I am near a computer and have enough emotional energy. Wishing you the best and hoping for a healthy lo! Induction and magnesium is no fun but I hope it foes well for you both (all 3)! Good luck!
  • Thanks. They took him to the children's hospital next door at 3a for some heart tests. Checking a murmur. No news yet but I have to stay on iv here until 10p so can't see him until then.
  • 24 hrs but no csection! If your hospital does nitrus I recommend it! 6lb 2oz no name yet.
  • preclampsia. being induced.
  • Ron - so sorry to hear about your friend! That's sad. Ants are annoying. We get them all the time in TN. I put those pellets on the outside and spray Ortho inside. I hate using pesticides inside but I tried everything from grits (seriously!) to vinegar to those little ant house poison traps etc and the only thing that…
  • Who asked about weights? I started swimming a mile twice a week 3 months ago and notice a difference in my arm tone. I set up my iPhone today and am not great at typing yet! So hubby 1/2 quit and 1/2 lost his job this morn. Just what I need. He has things to sell to get us past the unpaid rime off for baby, but like I need…
  • I look pregnant now!! Of course... I'm due in a week...
  • Yeah, I'd have to homeschool. I'd be fine with HSing (and probably end up with a smarter kid than the Public system could produce). The idea of being in such cramped quarters with 2 little ones is not necessarily appealing though. The idea of not working and seeing places I'd like to see is a nice one, but.... anyway,…
