enjoy while on vacation - eat what you want, but don't stuff yourself and don't eat if you're not hungry.

If your leg were broken would you keep running to try to stay fit? Take the time to recover properly. The flu won't last long and it won't ruin your progress. What's a few days or a week? And odds are you're not going to be eating 3000 calories a day so you'll probably still lose weight and your muscle capacity won't…

I'm a firm believer that just about anything is fine in moderation. I had one for breakfast before swimming this morning since I was so tired I was stumbling out the door to the gym. I'd never have them daily... possibly even just because of the cost!

One of those stick things with the sponge scrubber at the end. But I have a yarn knitted washcloth as well for stuff that doesn't really reach or counters etc. More recently since moving though I actually get to use the dishwasher to wash my dishes now for the first time ever!!! :drinker:

Are you eating well and enough? I swim a mile+ twice a week (among other things). Last week I ate crap - I think I ate only rice krispee treats and Captain D's the day before my 2nd mile. I almost died. I felt like I do at the end about 3 minutes in. I ate well that day and was feeling fine in spin class the next day. In…

But, if you're referring to the study I think you may be (sorry, I can't remember what it was to cite it), it didn't disprove it either. It just showed that people who ate more for breakfast didn't burn more during the day or eat less during the day - but it was flawed in that they had no regard to WHAT they were eating…

one day won't make or break your diet or your metabolism. If you're starving eat it (I agree, try for just one if you can just to take the edge off.) If holding off till lunch is easy enough for you, then do that. I would never say skip breakfast regularly, but it's one day - whatever you choose won't affect anything long…

I'd recommend making a meal plan - then make and freeze individual portions (or fridge individual portions if you'll be eating them soon.) Do it monthly, every other week, or weekly depending on if it is easier to shop at once as well as cook large batches of several items, or if you want to cook several items in smaller…

So true! Five Guys fried.... wow! I ate them once before looking up the counts and I couldn't believe it! Get a burger and split the fries if you need them. I've found that I usually don't actually want to eat the whole pile, i just want enough for a taste... but I'll eat the whole pile if i order them myself! :blushing:

I LOVE burgers and fries. Sometimes I just don't worry that it's like 1200 and save it for a good cardio day. Or I eat 1/2 of it at (ie) Red Robin and it's not too bad, and I'm always full. But, the other post is right - make it at home with super lean beef, WW bun, lots of veggies, and oven baked fries. Or, I have…

Yeah. neither work. Or they work for like 3 days. It's easier to just do it myself. (Maybe if he fixes enough floors from me trying to do it myself he will start doing it himself... probably not) He made me so mad yesterday because I was at the gym until about 7:45 or 8 so when I got home he decided we had to order pizza…

ugh - frustrating morning before 9:30! I got up and went to the gym. Swam a mile. OK good so far. Came home. Probably running about 10-15 minutes later than I should - getting home about 9:10 instead of 8:50 or so. Anyway - find my 3 yr old in the kitchen with a 1/2 spilled gallon on milk on the floor trying to drink out…

You can look into barefoot running / shoes as well. If I were able to run (my back Dr HIGHLY discouraged it for me, so I decided on swimming instead)... anyway.... in the past I had serious back problems and FAR less pain when I ran barefoot than in shoes because it eliminated heel striking and the jar on my back. I…

How do they know what is good for you? Jogging is not good for me (back surgery) but it might be fine for you! Plus, high impact exercise helps build bone density - so it might very well be good for you! It all depends on how you do it, your shoes, your body build, etc. If it's not hurting you and you enjoy it - who cares.…

You can eat at maintenance and work on converting fat to muscle w/out losing weigh, per se. Programs like P90X have people totally tone up and lose body fat, but they require no deficit eating. You might need to really watch your micronutrients though to do so.

the best ever is just plain old lemon juice! Seriously! Try it!!! Zero cal dressing!

my problem is the hubby buys it. He knows I like it so he gets it - then I eat it. I have to do the shopping because I won't actually buy much junk - just the occasional ice cream usually. Now, if I can just get him to stop bringing me junk!!!

you need lowercase [ i m g ] in front and [ / i m g ] (minus the spaces, it's the only way I can get it to show up on here!) at the end of that JPG link.

excecise challenge. Ugh - i think i officially failed this week. I blame hubby for taking the car twice and leaving me stranded at home on gym days (I am NOT one to just work out at home, especially since hubby STILL has not hooked up the Wii (god knows the Xbox was hooked up before the last of the stuff was even moved…

It depends on how you calculate it or what you base a trimester on - simply time or based on developmental milestones? Apparently you can start 3rd tri anywhere from 26.6 to 28... http://www.baby2see.com/trimester_calculator.html

I TOTALLY count exercise like that! My settings are at "sedentary" so anything above that I count! Actually, any burn over 1880 a day I count as exercise, since my "do nothing" sit around burn is about 1880 a day. And I have a BodyMedia Fit so i can see if I burned even just 100 or 200 more cals doing laundry or something…

I don't think anyone would dare with me. I have the "touch me and I will kill you with my bare hands" look down pat.

Awesome! Great job! There is the Music City Marathon here at the end of the month. In Jan I was planning to do it with my SIL who is coming down with some friends from IL to do it, but with my back surgery I had to decide not to do it. I really wanted to because I thought it'd be a great story to say - did a 1/2 marathon…

So yesterday I didn't make it to morning spin class because I thought it was going to rain and told hubby to take the car to work not his motorcycle. Same thing happened on Monday. Not sure I will make the challenge this week. Of course, neither day it ended up raining! It was 91 here yesterday! So I was rather unmotivated…

I have to take mine at night or it does the same thing. I have no problems at all if I take it at night as long as I have eating in the past 2 hours or so. Any time before and I will be nauseated for hours. Same with normal vitamins.

Grounded for a while huh? (PS congrats)!

So, since I am rather determined not to use my brain at all today - what does AFM stand for? I know it's like "everyone" but I'm not going to figure it out - wait "all forum members" ? Anyway, I found with my last that dry somewhat sarcastic answers that leave them having no idea if you are serious or not are the best…

I know there is some "error" due to rounding, but it's usually a smaller gap than what you are reporting. PS - did you compare the entries in the database with what's on the label of your foods? The person who entered them may have put them in incorrectly.
-
Sugar from fruits is generally OK since it's natural sugar. It's very hard to eat your fruits and stay "within" the sugar limits. I actually don't even show sugars on my micronutrients because I know when I am high in sugars from bad foods and I don't worry about it from fruits. Granted TONS of sugar (ie if you just drank…

Make sure you are not overestimating how much you are burning, or eating them all back will be eating too much. Consider getting a heart rate monitor, or round down on the # MFP exercise database or the machines at the gym tell you. They can be way off.
