I promise you that cutting out a calorie free/nearly zero cal beverage did not contribute to legitimate weight loss on any level. Some people do experience a bloating feeling from diet soda (well, soda in general) mostly seen when consumed in large quantities, but that's just water retention and probably discomfort from…

LOL @ Men's Fitness being considered a legitimate source.

If you aren't losing weight, you aren't in a deficit. Simple as that. Reasons why you aren't in a deficit: 1) You are underestimating how much you eat. Solution: Weigh all solids, measure all liquids. OR 2) You just have your calorie goal set too high in general for how active you are. Solution: Knock 100-200 cals off your…

Lift heavy weights and stop messing around with bodyweight movements. They're a great start, but you will only see so much progress. Get under a barbell, squat, deadlift, lunge.

No one is judging you. There's just too many other people on this site who have had it much worse than you and still manage to make things work. Quite frankly, the money issue alone should be enough for you to stop.

This And this. That being said, this site can be an incredible resource for information as well as finding like minded people. Starting with the link in the post above is highly suggested. Good luck! :drinker:

+1, excellent book

How can you say that person just "overate" if it isn't about the amount of food or calories, but about control? Only the person themselves can tell if it was out of control and, for some, inhaling an entire sleeve of Oreos may have been uncontrolled eating. It's a really fine line, like others have said. I think it's best,…

Binge eating is about control or lack thereof. It's not a set amount of food or calories, it's a mindset about what you are eating.

A with minor modifications throughout the actual day.

Rapid weightloss is usually the cause for loose skin on the body, but everyone has a different reaction to this as the elasticity of each person's skin varies. If it's been a while since you've lost the weight and the issue hasn't improved, then it's probably going to take surgery to fix it.

This. People really don't understand what's meant by overtraining. We wouldn't have professional athletes if this was considered overtraining, we'd all be pretty much average Joes. I also really disagree with avoiding leg work because you are running. Unless you are sprinting or doing interval training, your running is not…

 Cool. You ever think that working out can be a form of therapy for some people who have been through a lot in their life? Doesn't mean they aren't "tough", it's just an activity that allows them to release those emotions. Glad you and your girlfriend don't let that sissy estrogen stuff get to you.

Great suggestion to give while completely disregarding the OP's open food diary which shows she isn't under eating. OP, you mentioned seeing someone who was similar to the old you working with a trainer and that made you emotional. I do that too sometimes, or even just when I see someone in there working really hard,…

First time rolling a thread. Not proud of this one at all.

Hypocrite, much?

This is a good rule of thumb actually.

Why would you think that women need different preworkouts than men?
-
You are incredibly disgusting. It's really sad that women have low enough self esteem to put up with the likes of you. Even worse, the douchebaggery that you've exhibited in this thread today is becoming more of a social norm. You could help end the cycle instead of preying on women, but you know, that would make you a…

Without knowing much about your eating and workouts, I'll just throw it out there that sometimes these comments are more directed towards habits than appearance. Drastic restrictive diets, comments you may make about what you're eating or what others are eating and excessive amounts of exercise can lead to some concern.…

Ditto. I used to have the "everything is against me" mindset or "why does everyone else have it so easy?" and it didn't make losing weight any easier, in fact it made me miserable. Focus on the things you can control, learn how to still enjoy foods you like and fit them into your calorie goal, master politely declining…

+1 It's not vain or shallow for people to take into account physical attraction when deciding whether or not they want to be in a committed relationship with someone. That is human nature and if anyone who is naive enough to believe that someone doesn't need a certain level of physical attraction to feel fulfilled in a…

I can understand this. I backpack and hike. Sometimes it really hinders my recovery from lifting. However, in my mind, I lift so that I can hike and backpack, I don't hike and backpack so I can lift so if lifting has to take a backseat a little bit during backpacking months than I'm okay with that. I can hit it hard in the…

Usually I only regret overeating. There's been a few times that I've settled for a lesser version of something I was really wanting to eat, like a crappy hamburger instead of getting a better one and I've regretted that because it usually isn't nearly as satiating, IMO.
