I try to think of another way to "spoil" myself after a long week. Special tea in a fancy glass, buying a magazine, a glass of good wine, getting my nails done. Or, I'll force myself to workout BEFORE I eat the bad food and then find that I really stopped craving it after my workout and don't end up eating bad after all.

When I was doing intense yoga 3-4x a week, I started to like the way my legs looked. That has been the only thing I've ever done (never tried a spin class but did used to bike) that has really made a difference in my thighs. Unfortunately I don't have the time or money to hit a yoga class that often right now, so sadly my…

I'm in the process of the same goal. I started two weeks ago and have dropped 4lbs. I jog about 30 min a day, or ride horses, or do yoga. I eat about 1400 cal, mostly fruit, veggies, rice, proteins. Drinking a lot of water and tea. It's totally possible if you just stay focused.

I struggle with that mentality, and found if say I want a piece of cake or a French fry. I'll eat half of what I normally would, maybe order a child sized fry or something. Then I pat myself on the back for my self control, maybe add a little onto my workout and call it a day.

I've gotten the best results when I run and do yoga together. Yoga alone still gives me results, but I'm not looking for a lot of weight loss, mostly just to drop a few pounds and tone. Yoga definitely gets my heart rate up and makes me sweat, but not in the way a good run does.

Oatmeal, dried fruit/nuts on top. Or some fruit and cottage cheese. I don't have a lot of time in the morning, but if you eat some protein (boiled egg, etc) that usually helps. I end up having to have a snack mid-morning usually.

I know you asked about lunch, but I remember my first year teaching, I was EXHAUSTED by the time I got home and wouldn't want to cook myself dinner (which of course leads to microwave food, take out, etc). Now, I'll throw something in the crock pot in the morning before I leave (chicken breasts, chili, etc) and I make sure…

I do pretty well at Farmer's Markets. I can usually stock up on a weeks worth of food for $30-40 dollars, and end up eating a lot of vegetable stir fry, smoothies, yogurt, etc.

I'm not a nurse, but I regularly work 12-14 hour days. I make sure to pack food and snacks so I don't just drive through to get something on my way home or snack out of a vending machine. I count being on my feet walking around for hours as exercise, so on weekdays, I'll typically just end or start the day with 15 minutes…

It gets better! Yoga is one of those things that practice really does make perfect. It seems to use muscles in a different way, and so the first times you do it, you're like "holy crap what IS this?" Over time though, it does get a LOT easier. You just have to stick with it.

I did. He constantly complained about his weight, but ate like crap and never exercised. We broke up.

I agree - just don't have ANY junk food in the house. Have fruit, veggie snacks, yogurts, etc. You'll still munch, but at least then it won't be on like BBQ chips and brownies.

I have some Levi curve jeans that I LOVE. I also found some great jeans at Gap, their curvy fit, that are the best fitting jeans I've ever owned. On the cheaper side, the Old Navy "Princess" cut is pretty good too.

I'm all butt and thighs, no waist. I FINALLY found some at Target that were their *I think* "2" fit (the '6' fit doesn't look right one me. But anyway, these have extra room in the thighs, so they work for me. Only complaint is that they ride up.

I know it's probably frowned upon, but I took the Slim Quick diet stuff a few years ago. It didn't do much but help keep water weight down and boost my metabolism a little. I'd never take the hardcore ones, but these did enough to keep me happy without compromising my arteries or anything insane like that.

I'm 5'5" and 139, and there is no way in heck I am even close to a 4 ( 6-8 now). Although, I am definitely bottom heavy...

I just got back from a weekend with my family. I over-indulged a little (better than I would have before, but still bad), and now I feel guilty and full of regret. Haha the Cheetos weren't worth it! Try drinking water when you want to munch?

It would make sense if I am - my dad is hyperglycemic. I'm not super big on the doctor though - wouldn't they just tell me to eat frequently?

Cucumbers! Pickles (for when I want something salty) Hard Boiled Eggs Fat Free string cheese Lemons (for my water)

I did get one of those high fiber high protein cereals, which has helped A LOT for the mornings. I think maybe I need to have my bigger meal at lunch-time too, and then start thinking smaller for dinner. I'll definitely have to hard-boil some eggs too; that's a great idea! I've been doing some hardcore yoga to build…

My aunt went on a bee pollen kick for awhile. Don't they make it in capsule form?

To all the wonderful advice, I would add: buy yourself a crock pot. You will be working loooongg hours, so having something at home, all ready to eat will save you LOADS of temptation from "just grabbing something on your way home."

Thank you! I've been snacking on cucumbers for my "afternoon munchies," but they do nothing in the way of making me less hungry. I'll give the carb/protein thing a whirl today. I've been eating between 1300-1500 calories a day (5'5", 139), which *should* be enough, right?
