i don't know what the P90 and Turbo Jam are but i workout 2 times on my mondays because i love my 1 hour zumba and i love my 1.5 hour cycle class...i burn about 1200 cals on that day just in exercise....so you can exercise a lot but you MUST eat those calories (that can end up being a whole lot of food)...and you should…

i love you guys! seriously just got a HUGE laugh about the 151!!!!...here is what i have learned about drinking (or being able to enjoy your drinks)...first - if you know you're going to drink, limit/eliminate the carbs you're having with your meal ...or skip dessert if you were planning on a treat (i prefer sugar to booze…

your mental image is almost accurate  ...thankfully i restrained myself from snatching the meat off the grill to weigh it...lucky for hubby all of you suggest weighing after...otherwise i would have smacked him with a spatula!!!

does anybody know when to weigh meat (before or after cooking)? we are making burgers for lunch and hubby threw them on the grill before i could weigh the meat for my pattie...i know that meat usually weighs more when it is raw but does this make a difference in the cals???

Great work getting started on here "GettingThin"!!!!...just a little note to help you along....add a little protein to your meals...i didn't see any on your menu and everything listed gets turned into sugar (all those starches plus the things that are simple sugars)....protein is your friend so enjoy it (especially when…

a 4 oz breast of chicken is about the size of your palm or a deck of cards, and is 120 cals

you should definitely get your calories in - your body needs them especially if you are working out. Add some avocado or olive oil (or flaxseed oil) to one of your meals and that will give you an easy non-filling boost to your cals and good fats :flowerforyou:

sometimes i have this problem too....too full to eat anymore cals but in need of my gym fix...so what i do is eat (sorry - no way around it) something that is dense in calories...try a small meal but add a few ounces of avocado or olive oil to boost calories (and good fat)....or try a calorie dense shake ...or a regular…

the RMR test for me was this: 8-12 hour fast (i did my test first thing in the morning so this was easy) lay on a bed all snuggled up and cozy, then she put a pincher on my nose so i was forced to breathe through my mouth, and then had me breathe into a "hose" (similar to nebulizer tubing) that was attached to her…

let me try to address all of the questions and your comments... sarah - the difference is quite big...initially i was taking in about 1000 calories...then i bumped it up to 1500 when i got on MFP (that's what the program figured i should be eating and still lose weight)...i wouldn't make any adjustments for gym days even…

i am just starting a 20% fat, 40% carb, 40% protein diet. I workout every day (cardio, cycle, zumba, pilates) and no matter how much i exercise i continue to store fat (very likely due to a very unhealthy low cal diet)....i have upped my cals and follow these ratios....i am only 4 days into it but so far i am happy (would…

Does anybody here follow a 20% fat, 40% carb, 40% protein diet? i need some recipe ideas (approx 400 calorie meals and 300 calorie snacks) with these macronutrient ratios....i am having a heck of a time finding anything online and definitely no luck in any recipe books. thanks!

i am always on the hunt for "shakes" for my hubby who drinks them as snacks at work or if he needs the exrtra cals during the day, and i was just looking at the Slimfast shake labels over the weekend.... i didn't buy them because they had too many sugars, lots of carbs, and too little protein to make it worth it…
