The first cereal I remember loving was Apple Jacks. Then Lucky Charms. I did NOT like cereal that changed the color of my milk. Cocoa Puffs, Fruity Pebbles, etc. Refused to eat on principle.

I'll be dead in 50 years because of all the red meat, butter, and sugar I eat. But go ahead and laugh at a dead person if it makes you feel better.

I'm going to need you to be more specific about your goals and what kind of exercise you're doing.

I shave every day, sometimes twice a day, even in winter. I feel dirty if I don't. I rarely ever cut myself. I never have ingrown hairs. I don't use special razors or magic creams. I use a Venus Embrace (5 blades), soap, and water. All the hand-wringing over this subject reminds me of the similar uproar every time a woman…

I would want to DO something that I won't be able to do when I'm 80. Go hiking in South America or white water rafting or something. Not that I don't like relaxing on the beach, but I don't consider that "a vacation of a lifetime." There's nothing special about it, for me.

I was trying to make it easier for you.

And that's what this whole weight loss thing is really about, isn't it? Doing what's easy. MFP doesn't encourage me to do anything. It's a tool. How you use the tool is up to you.

This experience will come in handy when all the weight is gone and the same women hate you because you're healthier, happier, and hotter. It's like when you're out walking or jogging and guys roll down their windows and make fun of you because you're fat. Those same douches will be the ones to roll down their windows and…

He has an MFP account, but he doesn't log consistently or accurately, and he's not losing weight. Did you set up his account for him? Just a shot in the dark ... Sounds to me like he's not mentally in a place where he's ready to do this, so my advice is for you, not him: Let it go. Do your thing, set an example, and when…

Finishing my 4th cycle of 5/3/1 today. Before that, I spent about 6 months doing more of a powerlifting style program that my lifting coach wrote. Before that, I spent 2 years training with kettlebells, which turned me into a pretty strong little ninja before I ever picked up a bar. If you're completely new, I'd advise…

Find a good tailor or learn how to sew. Seriously. I'm in the same boat ... 5'0, small frame. I pretty much can't wear anything anymore that isn't specifically scaled for petites. Even if I could hem a regular dress, the waist will fall too low on me, so I basically would have to get the thing cut in half and…

A question A ring Food That's about as much thought as I've ever given it.

Here's a thought: stop having sex. If you can't afford birth control, you can't afford to be pregnant either.

This is probably the most likely scenario when it's legit. I have a friend who didn't know until 17 weeks because she was nursing her other baby. I think when it happens to teenagers, it's more a case of them not knowing what happens to your body when you become pregnant. Their cycles may not be regular at that age, so…

A calorie deficit is what burns fat. You can create a calorie deficit more easily with cardio, but you need strength training (and adequate protein intake) to maintain your lean body mass. Otherwise, you may get smaller, but you won't get much leaner. You'll look like a scaled down version of what you look like now. For…

Buy a pumice stone and some Aquaphor, and call it a day.

I don't really do it for exercise. I do it for recovery or because I have something to think about or because I'm bored or because it's a nice day and I want to be outside. That doesn't mean it's not exercise for someone else.

I save nearly all my calories for dinner. That is when I am hungriest (right after lifting) and when it's most convenient for me to eat. I don't have time in the morning, and there's no way I'm getting a satisfying lunch from a Tupperware container. So I just eat a lot at dinner, usually also including upwards of 500…

I use a Hampton extra thick bar pad for hip thrusts. Works fine for me. I think an Airex pad would work well, but they're expensive.

Diet. Barbell hip thrusts. Done.

Your body is not going to send enough hunger signals for you to eat your soul out. Your mind, maybe. Your body is another story. Perhaps that is the point your doctor was trying to make. Learn what hunger is.

Intimidated? No. I know what my goals are, and they are different than a lot of my friends' goals. But sometimes I am jealous when I see that someone did a triathlon or marathon or whatever and now they get to eat like 4 days' worth of food. To be serious for a second though, I will say I am more often than not inspired by…

As of today, 2000. But I lift, so, there's that.

The AMA deciding that obesity is a disease has clearly established that this is the new paradigm. Your medical problems are congenital. It's not your fault, and you can't save yourself. Only expensive treatments and procedures can save you.

Your priorities are out of order. Are you there to achieve the kind of success that doesn't need to be spelled out in crayon, or do you just want to be applauded for merely showing up 12 times in a month? Think about that.
