I'm not doubting that a hormonal disorder would cause you to gain muscle faster than the average woman. But even the average man has difficulty putting on muscle quickly without drugs. People who think they are getting "too bulky" are nearly always eating too much.
-
I have no problem with that. None at all. You went about expressing your opinion respectfully and without demeaning the goals or bodies of women who are happy to be more muscular. And I'd like to clarify that when I say women who are afraid of "bulking up" are too lazy to do it anyway, I'm not talking about people who just…

Certain exercises like eating too much will make them bigger. Spinning? Not so much.

She also front squats 270, which completely blows my mind.

Yes. I completely agree with this. If I had to choose a fitness pro whose body is close to what I'm trying to achieve, it would be Camille LeBlanc-Bazinet. And I've had guys tell me, upon seeing her picture, that her arms are too big. Too big for what? Her arms support the work she does. It's not like she went out and…

I don't have a problem with the terms "masculine" and "feminine," but I have a real problem with people labeling physical attributes that both sexes possess with those terms. And what especially pisses me off is when this sort of talk comes from women. It nearly always comes from women who don't have 1/10 of the work ethic…

Personally, I wish Nabisco would get a clue that the only way to improve upon Oreos is to make them bigger.

I had to have surgery on my jaw about 5 years ago, and what they told me was to keep the quality of my diet the same and to change only the texture. A blender and food processor will be very helpful. I recall shredding a lot of grilled chicken breasts and mixing them up in mashed potatoes. It was two weeks after my surgery…

This is a tough subject for me. I have been "advised" by guys who didn't have the first freaking clue what they were talking about, usually when I was doing an atypical lift (like a hip thrust or Turkish get-up) that they had never seen and knew nothing about. So I can't just assume that you know all about it and the woman…

Sounds like YOU became distance (sic), not they.

You're making this too complicated. You should look good in your clothes. Do you look good in your pants? If so, you're set. If not, get some new pants. If you're not sure, the answer is no; ergo, get some new pants.

Does this mean I can go on an all-fat diet?
-
I think a lot of people responding to these threads have never actually visited a fat acceptance blog. These people are not simply saying "Stop being mean to me just because I'm fat." They blog about being fat like it's something to aspire to, the same as these anorexic teenagers post pictures demonstrating that they can…

I am in love with this answer. You know your body needs a certain amount of food in order to function properly. Just because you aren't receiving or don't recognize hunger signals doesn't mean you shouldn't eat.

Stop burning 1600 calories a day.
-
You can do both. I walk 20 to 30 miles a week in addition to 5/3/1 and HIIT. I don't usually walk on days that I lift, but you can, since it's low-intensity. If you're going to do them on the same day, I would lift first so that you are at full strength and are better able to maintain proper form, which gets more difficult…

Getting a food scale and weighing my food
-
My advice is never buy a new car. Find a reliable used one that you can pay cash for. But I'm pragmatic like that.

Be active during the day. Weekend overeating tends to result from boredom and the mere proximity of food. Get outside for a good portion of the day, if you can. If not, go somewhere where you won't have food in your face. And do things that burn calories so that when you do eat, it won't be that big of a deal.

In to find out whether or not said boyfriend gets to give OP a list, too.

I wouldn't call this a downfall of weight loss. Yes, it costs money, but your appearance is important. Looking my best at all times is something I take pride in, given how hard I've worked to look the way I look now. I still remember the day it first occurred to me that my clothes were too big. I got out of my car at work,…

I feel like I don't fit in when the workout songs threads start up, but ... AC/DC, Whitesnake, the Stones, and Van Halen are favorites. I occasionally have some rap songs on my playlist, depending on the workout. I frequently listen to classical music when I'm stretching and foam rolling. I'm particularly a fan of Mozart…

Depends on why I'm traveling. If it's an actual vacation, I do log my food, but I don't worry about weighing things or being over on calories here and there. It just seems dumb to me to give up the opportunity to share a delicious meal with your family on vacation all because you might gain a pound or two. You can lose it…

I train at home, but I've done hip thrusts in a hotel gym. People were actually staring. Did not care. I knew what I was doing and why I was doing it. Same for Turkish get-ups. That's another one people don't understand. Honestly, you get past it. It's work. It has to be done, and if people want to waste their time…

I never know how people who start these threads expect us to respond. It's not like there are 4 dozen options here. Eat the thing, give it to someone else, or throw it away. Pick one. If you want to eat it, make it fit into your week. If you can't find a way, in 7 days, to give yourself an extra 420 calories, you aren't…

In my case, it's more like MY effect on THEIR diets.

I weighed myself on day 1, and I didn't weigh myself again for the entire first year. Ever. I'm really not kidding. It worked for me because I knew I had a lot of weight to lose and that I wasn't going to lose it in a few months, so what difference did it make if I lost 15 lbs one month and 12 lbs the next month? I didn't…
