Love LOVE LOVE Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches. Flavor doesn't matter. Yummy!!! (150 cal.)

I eat whatever strikes my mood. I have found that by being conscious of portion sizes, I can eat the same stuff I was eating before MFPing; I just have to make sure that I'm close to my 1200 net calories ea. day. I have gotten into the habit of logging my breakfast and my lunch after eating them. Same for snacking. BUT,…

Nice work!!! You look great!

Different for different people. You need to experiment.

Love this! I will remember this when I slip. Thanks for sharing.

Heck, these things happen. Acknowledge, and move on. What you DID does not matter. What you DO now is what matters. So, choose your favorite: 1) Give Up or 2) Continue Your Journey Seriously, one slip does not mean that you cannot reach your goal. You'll be okay.

Congrats!!!!! That's awesome!

I still feel rather new to this, but I feel that planning to cheat is a bad idea. ??? Isn't cheating what got us here? LOL I think it is best to be diligent, but being human, we're bound to slip. So, I think a quick recovery is best. I don't know. Just my two cents.

Transformation is, indeed, the right word! Awesome!

I am quite sure that I cannot continue at 1200 net calories per day for the rest of my days, but I am working hard at losing 35 lbs. right now (at about a pound or so per week). I'm not in a big hurry, but I want my results managable and PERMANENT. Once there, I know that I'll be allowed 1600 net cal. to maintain that new…

LOL If I ate ONLY when I was hungry, I suppose an appetite suppressant would be helpful. However, as I am perfectly capable of eating when I am not at all hungry, I never bothered to try any appetite suppressants.
-
If I happen to be angry about something, yes, I tend to burn significantly more calories during my cardio. But, I cannot look to anger as a tool/motivation, as I am almost never angry. Annoyed sometimes, but rarely angry.

Small changes is the way to go. Otherwise, you get burned out very soon. In the past, I would start out all gung ho, and in a matter of days, I'm eating ice cream right out of the container in front of the open freezer. Do what you can live with. When that's no big deal, make more small changes. Good luck!
-
Haven't met my goal, but am losing roughly 1 to 1.5 lbs per week. Slow and steady wins the race and more importantly, I want permanent results.
-
Sign up for another race, and focus on your training for that. Time and distraction will heal the wound. Congrats on your first 5K!
-
I agree with "small changes." A little at a time. AND slow and steady has a better chance of being permanent. In my yo-yo dieting and on/off exercising, I have found that I get all gung ho, making huge calorie changes, cutting out foods/junk I really enjoy, exercise every day to the point where my arms and legs feel like…

Not to be a smart @ss, but it sounds like you're "ashamed to..." eat the number of calories you're supposed to be eating each day. Honestly, this makes no sense to me. I don't always meet my 1200, but I always aim for it. Sometimes I'm a little under, sometimes a little over, but usually w/in 100 calories close. Oh, and…

I hear ya. I was kind of thinking the same thing, but then I realized that I'm much more concerned about what I see in the mirror, rather than the number on the scale or the tag in my jeans. And right now, 5'4", 150 lbs., I wear a 12. Although my goal is 130 (not sure what size to expect at that weight), I do like how I…
-
Hmm. I'm 5'4", about 150 lbs. now. I wear a 12, but I believe I wore a 10 back when I was at about 145 lbs.

Gosh! I just saw something the other day somewhere on the net re pushups. I don't remember the details, but it did specifically say something about the modified/girly pushups NOT providing the benefits that the standard pushups provide. Better to start the standard pushup against the wall, or using a chair or step, and as…

If you're just not a water drinker (like me), start just by getting down ONE glass per day. It is a start, and once that's no big deal, start trying to get two down per day. I do find when I work out (cardio), that I do need water, and take sips of an entire glass of ice water throughout my work out. By the time my work…

Ah, of course. Thanks!!

That is awesome! Now, please tell me what NSV stands for. There are a lot of abbreviations on this site that I just do not know yet.

Different schools of thought, but I can tell you that I do not like to workout on either a full or an empty stomach. I like to just have a little something (like a piece of toast w/ PB) if I work out "first thing" in the morning -- esp. if it is cardio. If I work out later in the day, I will do so no sooner than 30 min.…

You need to NET 1200, not just eat 1200. I'm doing 1200 too, and the way I'm doing it, I'm losing roughy a pound a week (give or take a couple of tenths). One week, I even lost 1.6 lbs. I look at the 1200 that I get every morning as CASH in my wallet, and it is all I have to SPEND (on food). Exercise is my JOB and how I…

You are 19. That's going to be an awful lot of years of regret you will face if you want to go to school, but choose not to because someone else doesn't like the idea. DO for YOU. No matter whether you're in a relationship (of any kind) or not, you will always have YOU to face. So, if you want to go to college, by all…
