Today???? None today. But thanks for reminding me that I have Thin Mints in the pantry. :noway:

Sounds like it is just a habit. Food is your go-to when you're not otherwise engaged. Start a hobby. I knit, and I cannot really snack while knitting.

Great mug. I found one on line that I really like, but don't know how to post pics, so I'll just quote it: "What do we want? Coffee! When do we want it? I'll [f'ing] cut you." The mug actually has the real F word. Just thought I'd do it this way so it doesn't get cut out by the MFP police.

I need my coffee. I will not give it up. I drink water during my workouts, esp. cardio. But I have, indeed, had coffee as my drink during strength training. It was a matter of skipping my workout or skipping my coffee, as I did not have time for both that day. Well, I can't do w/o either one, so it was both. So there.…

Two c-sections, but I didn't make a real effort until 16 years after my last c-section; my kids are 20 and 16. So, my skin has been stretched pretty well for nearly two decades. I just don't know if there is hope for skin stretched for that long. But I am working on it. Not a fan of unnecessary surgery (yes, I am a…

I gave up nothing, so I'll continue to eat whatever I want. What I did do was monitor my calories, so I will continue to do so when I am on maintenance, because I don't ever want to have to eat so little again.

I make room for chocolate. I have up to three Hershey's Milk Chocolate Bliss candies every day. Keeps me off the roof.

Got one for xmas, and I don't know how in the world I ever got by w/o it!

Seems like folks who had c-sections and started working those abs w/in a few months or even a couple of years have luck in significantly reducing that "apron." But not doing jack about it for at least 15 years, like me, makes it seem like that apron will not go away. I have to tell you, I can feel good, solid muscle under…

Thank you. But, just for me, I have to see that goal number on the scale once to really feel successful. And I will. And I won't rush or obsess. And when I see that magic number, I will do a happy dance, and begin maintenance. Right now, I am simply NOT doing the 1200 net cal. that I'm supposed to be doing. I am having…

Oooh, that sounds yummy! THanks for sharing!

If they are supposed to be friends, that seems like weird behavior to me.

Calories can't tell time. (Cannot take credit for that one, but I cannot remember where I saw it.) Besides, why torture yourself? I cannot stick to any plan that makes me suffer. Good luck on your journey.

If you have to have sugar, have the real deal. They keep discovering bad news about substitutes. Moderation in everything is key. Enjoy!

Congrats! and Good luck! Maintenance scares me. I think that's why I keep coming w/in two lbs of my goal, and then gaining a pound or two back. This has been going on for weeks. So silly.

I know nothing about depression, but I do know that exercising regularly makes me feel an overall sense of well being. I don't stick to a rigid schedule re exercise, but I do try to fit cardio in about every other day (at least M,W,F) and try to do strength training on T, and Th. If all I can muster is a stroll around the…

Going on 24 years, and cannot imagine life w/o him. He makes me laugh. He supports me in all that I do. He drives me crazy. He even ticks me off. But I love him, respect him, and would not want it any other way. I'm so lucky.

I record everything. I don't see the point in doing this, if I'm not going to honest.

The red nos. don't bother me. This is not an exact science, and you need a little wiggle room sometimes. As long as the red calorie number is less than 100, I don't worry about it. Works for me. If you hate the red numbers, then you need to be a stickler about what you eat, and how much, and LOG EVERYTHING. One thing that…

There is so much to do just to prepare for such surgery, and the surgery is so risky. Just do the things (calorie reduction/tracking) you would need to do for the surgery anyway, but instead of surgery, keep on going w/ the reduced calories, and exercise as you can. I know three people who had the surgery. All three were…

Love my Total Gym. I did get the one currently advertised. I use it on Tuesdays and Thursdays (while I do cardio/elliptical M, W, & F). I have never been so fit. I am building muscle slowly, just as I am losing weight slowly. This will be a permanent change in my lifestyle. On weekends, I may or may not workout "on…

I love to have a bowl of oatmeal right before bed. I never sleep as soundly as I do on a full tummy. BTW, calories cannot tell time. :drinker:

If I miss a workout, I spend the entire day feeling like I left the stove on or forgot to lock the front door.
-
If she doesn't come through, will you pay for mine? Actually, that's very sweet and perfectly reasonable. I think if I had worked on my health/fitness as soon as it was safe to do so, I would not have this problem. Trouble is, I carried 30-40 extra pounds for about 20 years. In spite of my work now, which has indeed…

If you're hungry on those lift days, eat more calories. But I would not invent some cardio calorie number just so it appears on your record that you did not go over your calorie goal (as someone else here suggested). There is nothing wrong w/ going over your calorie goal. It is a goal to come close to - give or take. It is…

Uh, eating bread is not stupid. Sheesh.

I should mention, I suppose, that i have a horizontal scar, and that there is no issue re muscle. There is a vague six pack peeking out mostly above my belly button - you know, when the light is right. And, my actual scar, though long, is pretty pale. It doesn't bother me at all. It is the flabby jellyroll hanging…

I saw this somewhere before, and I'm totally stealing it: 'Calories don't know what time it is."
-
I have no 'cheat days.' I eat whatever I want. I just try to eat well more often than eating junk. And, most importantly, I track everything. As long as I have the calories available, I can eat them in whatever form I wish at that moment. So, no 'cheat days,' no cheats exist, no guilt.

We no longer have that natural extra layer, so we have to put on extra artificial layers to keep warm. Oh Spring/Summer, where are you?
