Love my carbs. I cut out nothing. I just track my calories and try to make most of them healthy ones. As to losing weight faster, I've done that a million times. Why? Because I gain my quickly-lost weight back over and over again. This time, slow and steady, and permanent.

What's the rush? Surely you will not be banned from attending if you don't meet this goal. If you succeed at losing the weight fast, you'll surely put it back on by the time the honeymoon is over. Good luck.

You know how you brush your teeth every day, perhaps shower every day? You don't need motivation for that. These are just part of your daily routine. Exercise has to become part of your day too. You have to just do it, whether you're motivated or not. Just do 10 min., and you'll be surprised how much you can build on that.…

I love the chain rest's that have a section on their menu called "Low Calorie Fair" or something similar. Then under the title for that section it will say, everything here is under 700 calories. Not HORRIBLE for a chain rest., but then you have to realize that everything outside that section is OVER 700. Yikes!

 Every diet out there, I'm sure, works. Follow whatever the plan, and you'll lose weight. Can you stick w/it for the rest of your life in order to maintain your goal? That's what matters most to me. I want my weight loss to be permanent. Therefore, whatever behavior I change to lose weight, I must be able to sustain.…

Regarding folks who find themselves stuffed after their 1200 cal. day, I just have to wonder, how did they end up overweight in the first place? Hmm....

I have been at my ideal weight in the past - many years ago. People have commented recently that they cannot imagine where I'm supposed to lose any more weight. I know the sentiment is kind, but I have to tell them that I have been at my ideal weight before, so I know what it is. Besides, since I workout regularly now, my…

I just purged a bunch of stuff today -- pants/jeans mostly. You see, I had clothes that were too small. I could not wear them. Donated them, as I thought I would never be able to fit into them again. Then I had clothes that were a bit snug, but still wearable. Then those a-bit-snug pants began to actually fit. Next, they…

I like Subway just fine. There are delis I like better. There are delis I do not like as much. Whatever I'm in the mood for, I'll eat (so long as my calorie goal is met).

Okay, your entire post is just awesome. LOL Congrats on your weight loss and good luck on your continued journey.

When strength training, I don't worry about calories. I figure that whatever few cal. I may burn while lifting, I just don't get to eat them back. Bonus deficit.

You look so much younger!

^This. I couldn't have said it better myself. I sometimes save some calories for a small bowl of oatmeal before bed. Sticks to the ribs, and helps me sleep soundly (at least, I believe it does).

Oh heck, you could eat out every day and still lose weight. As long as you're tracking and staying w/in your cal. goal, you'll be fine as far as weight loss. Now, this is not to say that there would not be other issues (too much salt, or some other "bad" thing), but that's another topic.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start doing it right again. No biggie. BUT, don't be so strict. That's what leads to binging. Allow yourself treats (measured/tracked), and now and again, go a little over your calorie goal. If you're "good" nearly all of the time, you will still succeed. Just, maybe, a little…

If you're having a soda now and again, but not making it a habit, have whichever you will most enjoy. And log it. Simple.
-
My approach is more casual. For something simple and low cal, I'll usually re-do everything as far as tracking. For something more complicated, like a recipe I've saved, I'll just use whatever I've saved -- like for lasagna, rather than be concerned that THIS time I used 1.16 lbs of ground beef, when originally I used .97…

I have low cal breakfast and lunch and may or may not have a snack (banana, apple or just a spoon-full of peanut butter). This way, I am basically saving the bulk of my calorie allowance for dinner and evening snacking. At the end of ea. day, I'm usually w/in 50-100 calories of my goal (under or over). Next day, rinse and…

Wow! You're looking fit. (This from a die-hard athlete.)

So sweet.

I don't know if it is THE nicest thing I've ever done, but I'd say it is high on the list, and I'm sure my mother would agree. My mom is a huge fan of Elvis Presley, but had never been to Graceland. So, one year, just after xmas, my sister and I 'kidnapped' my mom, and took her to Graceland. She thought we were going to a…

Some people have lights off because they do no participate in the tradition. Others have the lights off because they're out of candy. It happens. Don't egg or TP. Sheesh! PS: Bought twice the candy this year. Just not the same every year.

Don't really see the point. To each his own.
-
Ecto, but truth be told, I've always been a fan of "heroin chic." Forgive me.
-
Aw heck. Go t-o-t'ing. W/my kids, I limited how much they could have ea. day. When there was tons of candy, I would take as much as they did, but rather than eat it, I would put it away. A week later, the candy that the kids know about would be seriously depleted, so this doesn't go on forever. AND, the candy that I'd been…

LOL I love everything that disgusts you. I find yogurt and cottage cheese revolting.

It is like anything else... You will do it when you're ready. Hopefully, you're ready now. Just start by tracking everything. That's all. Then small changes like making it a point to ready your daily calorie goal (give or take a few calories). When this becomes habit, throw in exercise, or choose healthier food, or some…

If you know you're really ready this time, then don't worry about what they say. For a while, esp. if their negativity may affect you, just don't share with them. My impression is that they don't mean to hurt you, but that as your friends, they don't want you to set yourself up for disappointment (given history???). Just…

Once per week. It is the second thing I do every Sat. morning. The first thing I do is pee.

Always.
