And for what it's worth, I don't consider that an ideal body either. Not for me anyway. Because I'm both old enough to know better and to also think it really doesn't look all that good. But that's not what sells magazines unfortunately.
-
I'm actually referring to the question: Can anyone have the body they want? And the idealized body I refer to is for example the Victoria Secret Angels - who are tall, thin, long legs and arms, etc. Of course there is a lot of photoshop involved, too lol. Open any women's magazines and you'll see what I mean about the…

There is a fundamental difference between an idealized body as compared to a healthy body. An idealized body is one that maybe 2% of the population have been genetically blessed with, and even then, only to the standards of what modern beauty looks like. And then there are the rest of us - the 98% - the NORMAL people. The…

This is what you asked: "I've been seeing this on Pinterest and I wonder if it works?" And you got mad because you apparently got the answer you didn't want to hear. Okay lol
-
Nope. I eat full fat, full sugar stuff. Just less of it.
-
Weight loss is eating less calories than you need to maintain your weight. So how are you tracking how many calories you're eating?
-
Good god that sounds disgusting. Ask yourself this: If weight loss were this easy, that you could just make a drink and lose weight, do you think anyone would be fat? Teaching point: If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
-
I'm more concerned that you're weighing yourself in the middle of the night and worried about two measly pounds.
-
This will sound harsh, and I'm sorry for that, but here it is: This is YOUR responsibility and I see nothing but a lot of excuses in your post. Weight loss is simply eating less food than you need to maintain your weight. So I would start there if I were you. At your weight you could be eating just about 2100 calories a…

I'll be 45 in about two weeks. I do almost exclusively weight lifting and here's why: As women, we naturally have less muscle than men. And as we age, we lose that muscle. Losing that muscle can result in more brittle bones and bone loss. You lose fat by watching your calories. You get fit by exercising. I mostly lift…

Nope, haven't noticed that. What does cause bad dreams for me is if I get too hot at night. But food - nah.
-
Ugh no. I started out wearing a 36 D and now I'm wearing a 30 F. AN F CUP. So no. I actually sort of wished that I would have because now I have to buy specialty bras that are really expensive.

Yeah. A coworkers of my boyfriend lost a bunch of weight on some pills she got from her doctor. I don't know what she was on, but she lost weight and pretty fast. For a while she looked pretty good. And here I was losing weight 1 pound a month or so, trudging along. Then she got pregnant and stopped the pills. She gained…

Meh. It happens. I spent every day over the Labor Day weekend eating out. Breakfast at a local diner, lunch at Culvers, dinner at the local pub with beer, ice cream, donuts, etc. I did that for FOUR DAYS. So here's what happened. I gained about a 1.5 pounds. And Labor Day came and went and I got back to it and I've lost…

Well for one thing, weight loss isn't so much about exercise as it is controlling your caloric intake. So if you're eating too much, you can exercise all day every day and you'll still gain weight. It's pretty easy to fall off the wagon in the summer - I know I sure do - but the best thing to do (for me, anyway) is get…

I used to intentionally bank calories every day Sunday through Friday, so I could go out on Saturday. Like I would intentionally eat 200-300 under so I could splurge for one meal on Saturday. The numbers always worked out and I lost. However, at this point I can't do that because my target is so small that even going out…

If I end up with like 200 calories left I would eat some peanut butter or almond butter - something like that. Lots of calories in a small serving.
-
The one I go to has everything as well.
-
Yeah sort of. I still enjoy a fast food burger or sweet or salty stuff, but I do notice that I FEEL different afterwards than I used to. Like I'm just coming back from a several week break of sorts where I just let go of the diet for a while, and I feel terrible. I have no other way to explain it other than I feel wiped…

Just a quick and easy suggestion. You don't have to be in keto or any other "diet" to lose weight. I haven't watched anything - ANYTHING - other than calories. I did pay attention to protein but even then that's on and off. And I was successful and lost 60 pounds. What is going to lead to your success is COUNTING…
-
So you say you weighed and measured everything and you still did not lose. Something isn't right here. Did you do it every day. Every single day? And you logged absolutely everything, every bite, sip, snack, taste, etc.? I want to be clear - do you have a food scale? And for exactly how long did you do this - did the…

What medical school did your doctor get his/her degree from?? That's insane. Is this person an MD? If so, I would find myself another doctor. Why don't you just find a reasonable calorie count and log your food every day? Why not just do something you can stick with?
-
Then you'll have to buy your own food. I have a housemate too and I just buy the stuff I need. He can get his own stuff.
-
Agreed. I don't mean to be the doomsayer but if this continues I see two very frail elders in the future. Once you start falling, your risk of death within the next year increases by about 50%. Best not to risk the weakness by starving yourself.
-
I would also be very worried about muscle loss. At your age, and I don't mean that in a bad way, purely a medical standpoint, eating at such a low level, I doubt very much you're getting the amount of protein you would need to maintain what muscle you have. You're going to put yourself at risk for weakness, bone loss and…

You're "not a big eater" but you have 77 pounds left to lose. Ok.
-
Yeah. You gotta want this for yourself. At some point you gotta stop letting others make your decisions for you.
-
So what I used to do was to bank my calories throughout the week so I could have (what I guessed) a 2,000 calorie meal on either Friday or Saturday. That worked pretty well until I got to a point where my weight was very close to goal. Now a 2,000 calorie meal is going to throw me too far off because my target is way too…

Just do it. You gotta start somewhere.
-
Just eat small portions and move on. One meal in the scheme of the rest of your life is not going matter.
