Eggs are one of nature's superfoods. I know there was a theory floating around that claims eggs raise cholesterol levels. No worries though, recently it has been proven that the cholesterol in the diet doesn’t really raise the cholesterol in blood. In fact, eggs primarily raise the “good” cholesterol and are NOT associated…

Whenever I'm sick with the flu, I practically live off chicken broth and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Swanson makes some really good ones that are healthy. If you're just dealing with a head cold, you can add in chicken and any veggies you want for easy chicken soup, that always makes me feel better (much healthier…

I've lost 36 pounds over 3 months just by eating healthy whole foods (nothing processed, and no gluten) without doing any exercise. I'm adding strength training in during the New Year, but I hate cardio so I can't stick with it, lol. Good luck!

Before you go in to work you need to eat a meal high in protein and fat, and lower in carbs. This will keep you full much longer. I go 5 hours without eating all the time, and I'm never hungry because most of my calories come from healthy hats and protein. Try chicken, avocado, nut butters, etc. Protein especially will…

75 g banana 1 cup almond milk 1 handful baby spinach 2 tbsp almond butter (or peanut butter) 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (optional) 10-15 ice cubes blend and enjoy, it's delicious, and pretty healthy to boot :)

When you only have a small amount left to lose, it comes off very slowly, even in keto. It might take a week or two to see some progress. Just keep going!!

it's a tie between pizza and ben and jerry's... two things I only rarely get to enjoy anymore :P

I used to force myself to work out, but I've always hated the idea of "30 minutes of cardio a day" rather than just having a lifestyle doing fun active things, like paddling, rock climbing, hiking, etc. I stopped doing the gym thing a few months ago. I also made the switch to Paleo, and now have a whole foods, lower carb…

Feel free to add me :) I'm a LC "Paleo-tarian," so I try to stay in ketosis most of the time (except Saturdays, when I can eat a whole 100 grams of carbs... woohoo!!! haha) I'm a little confused why so many people use posts like this to tell people they're eating the "wrong way" when all they are trying to do is find some…

of course I do. I just get it from mainly fat and protein sources, not carbs. Never felt better in my life. (And I've been Paleo for months now, so I think if there were ill effects I'd have felt them by now...)

<3 <3 <3 Paleo. And I don't think this article is "game, set, match" on low carb at all, Mr_Kinght... All it means is that people with high energy expenditures like athletes need more carbs to function (note: "more", not "majority"). I'm not an athlete, so low carb is what I need. But Paleo is amazing regardless of high or…

I'm 25, etween b5'8" and 5'9", and I work retail, so I'm on my feet moving around 40 hours a week. I eat about 1200-1400 calories a day (LC Paleo) and if I get a rare chance to do some actual cardio or strength training, I eat back about 50% of those calories. You seem to be alright on your numbers, and a slow loss is…

You may just have the "carb flu" that comes pretty standard to low carb diets during the first week or two. I'm not an Atkins follower, but I am LC Paleo. My advice: Drink tons of water to help with the headache and hunger, and eat lots of healthy fats to keep you from going hungry. I go through a jar of almond butter…

Depends on the shake. I had the same problem with trying to add more protein in and stay in Keto. Sooooo many of them have too many carbs. Still looking for a good brand to try. (I'm Paleo too, which makes it even more difficult haha)

I have a couple standard go-to's on the snacks: 100 calorie packs of almonds and walnuts (Emerald makes a bunch of different varieties), vegetables, 1-2 tbsp. almond butter, 4 oz plain Greek Yogurt (Fage is my favorite)

I don't go crazy with the supplements, but I do always take a vitamin supplement (One a Day Women's) for overall nutrients, plus I take a magnesium supplement, because I never come close to the recommended amount. Taking a multi-vitamin is just another way to make sure you're doing the best you can for your body.

Nice job so far!!!! Keep it up! :)

I think it's more obvious when you're slimmer because you've lost a higher percentage of your total body weight. 5 pounds is only 2.5% of a 200 pound person, but the same 5 pounds is 4% of a 125 pound person.

Net Calories is just what calories you eat minus what you burn through exercise. For example: 1350 calories eaten - 150 calories burned on the treadmill = 1200 Net Calories If you don't exercise during any given day, your Net is equal to the calories you've eaten that day. Your Net should always be above 1200 to get enough…

Paleo is an amazing way to live, I love it!!! That being said, Paleo is not necessarily low-carb. I personally eat under 50 g of carbs most days, with a 100 g day thrown in once a week, and it has been very effective for weight loss. When I reach maintenance, however, I plan to up my intake to 100-150 g carbs per day.…

drink as much as you want, I drink up to 120 ounces of water a day. The risk of over-intake comes when you drink an excessive amount in a short time... like 40 ounces in 30 minutes. You definitely need to drink more water on the days you workout than days you don't. And water definitely makes you less hungry- mostly…

If you eat more fats and protein and less carbs, you'll feel fuller longer because of they way the body breaks down the different types of energy. Try eating eggs, lean meats, avocados, nuts and nut butters to help feel fuller on less calories. I personally eat around 1300 cals a day, and never really get hungry, whereas…

WhenI still ate potato chips and ice cream, I preferred the chips that were folded in half. I also agree on the half-melted ice cream. Way better :P Now that I'm Paleo, I don't think I have too many weird food things going on. I've gotten boring haha.

My advice... don't worry about the carbs. If you get your carbs from healthy sources (fruits, veggies, etc.), you'll be fine. Carbs are the one form of energy your body does not have to have a lot of (your body can make it's own glucose, but it can't produce fat and protein energy). I'm sure if you have potatoes, quinoa,…

studies have shown that what time you eat has no noticeable effect on weight loss, nor does the amount of time between meals. Eat whenever you need to, as long as you don't go over your calorie goals :)

"Junk food" doesn't mean high calorie, and it isn't junk food because you gain weight eating it. You can eat junk food and not gain weight if you stay under a certain calorie level. "Junk food" means not natural, processed foods full of chemicals and preservatives. So no, kale, even 6000 calories of kale, cannot be…

never tried sardines, but I'll try anything once :P yeah, as far as dairy is concerned I'm more Primal than Paleo, so yogurt might work as well. Thanks guys!
-
Definitely agree. There's nothing inherently unhealthy about a meat and potatoes diet, as long as there isn't a ton of processed junk food thrown in the mix. Also, when you compromise by eating out more than you normally would, order the healthy options and don't worry about what he's eating. Most places make a variety of…

You've gotten a bit of a misconception about Paleo. There isn't one standard Paleo lifestyle insist you cut out all those things forever (except for the very strict minority, and since they're the minority, they shouldn't get all the attention), there is a version of Paleo for everyone. For instance, I cut out grain and…

fresh fruits and vegetables, nut butters (in small servings), lean meat, avocados, full-fat plain greek yogurt etc. Notice that nothing on the list is processed ;) even "healthy" processed foods contain too many chemicals to really be healthy. I find it's better to stick with as many whole, unprocessed foods as possible.…
