Well, this current culture climate could probably go back all the way to the UseNet days (kind of dating myself here). Also, I love the comment about the phrases "thicker skin," "rainbows and unicorns," "special snowflake," and "sense of humor.", etc; it seems like people regurgitate those phases by consulting some sort of…

Nicely stated!

Hahahahaha! Sweetness!!!!

Apparently not.

Nicely done! (and probably true!)

Yep, just ignore people like this; they are not worth the effort. And for the record OP, I totally agree with your post!

My thoughts exactly!

Making the assumption that your profile picture is you, I then have a very very hard time accepting that you can't find a date. You look great!!

What works for me is not owning a scale at home and using the one at work. I check my weight maybe 3 times a week at work to make sure I am making some progress. I just make sure that I had no fluids or food going into work (which is easy for me since I rarely eat Breakfast on a work day since I barely have enough time in…

Somehow, that was not right! ;-)

I just had a weird thought...what if one worked at the cake, cookie and donuts factory, would someone think badly a co-worker bringing in a vegetable or fruit platter to their break room? :noway: LOL

Yep, I know the feeling. At least where I work, all the goodies (cake, cookies, donuts, etc) reside in either a meeting room or an unused cubicle and if there were no emailing about it, I wouldn't even know its existence. But, most of the time, if I chose to eat it, it is entirely my decision. I will either allow for it…

It looks like from your food diary that your daily intake is very low. You should at least try to eat your daily calories (and any exercise calories) and perhaps reduce your rate of loss (to increase your daily calories which might help your stall). Just a guess....

Dark chocolate and ice cream (bonus for dark chocolate flavored ice cream)

Thinking I was skinnier than I actually am is what got me into the mess I am (weight wise) today.

Well for me, there was not one specific food that shocked me but the serving sizes in general is what opened my eyes. I had no clue what x ounces of food looked like. It is no wonder I became overweight.

11/4/13 Height: 5' 10.5" CW : 211 lbs GW: 175 lbs Will this happen by summer? Who knows, but I would give it a shot. I would be happy just maintaining in the 190s (onederland has been so elusive most of my adult life).

I struggle sometimes not to exceed my goal. I generally eat too much fat like mayo and cheese in addition to eating things like spouted wheat bread. I definitely could make better selections, but in days I am cutting it close calorie goal wise I try to increase my exercise to compensate.

Feel free to add me if you like. Either way, good luck to you!

It is tough; no doubt about it. You just have to mentally prepare for it. I do not a problem at home since I live alone, but the temptations at work really tests my willpower. You just have to look at the big picture and try to make the best choices for yourself and noone else.

Feel free to add me if you like.

You can add me if you like. In any case, good luck to you and enjoy the journey!

You can add me if you like. I am just starting the journey of losing 40 pounds in an attempt to take some pressure off my bad knee. Looking forward to the journey!

Chinese takeout (if for the simple reason on not knowing how to log it. I am sure it was excessive), 20 oz regular mt dew (a simple mistake at the gas station) and 3 fun sized candy at work (no control at work). All logged unfortunately.
