Thanks so much everyone for all of the support. It really means a lot! I think a lot of it has to do with control, you know? Your weight and what you feed your body are one of the few things that you have total control over. I see some of the success others have had, or what others look like, and feel as if I'm failing to,…

As a fellow photographer, I feel your pain. Here's how I handle my eating. I'm a vegetarian and also a fan of shopping local. We grocery shop on Monday, planning our meals for the week before going to the store. I'm also a member of a local CSA and so every Thursday I get a box of fresh, locally grown organic vegetables…

Thanks for the advice guys! It turns out I must have dislocated my shoulder and popped it back, and in the process tore my deltoid muscles. At least knowing which muscle, I know what I can and can't do.

You could always do shots of straight up liquor. ;D Most have between 80 to 100 calories a shot and will do the job A LOT quicker than any of the light beers would. Even a mix drink with diet soda has more calories than doing straight shots. This of course is if you actually want to catch a good buzz.

It was incredibly stiff this morning and couldn't move it without debilitating pain but as the morning wore on, it seems to be able to move in certain directions but not others. If I attempt to move it in a direction that hurts, it almost feels like a pinched nerve as my arm goes numb. I know if it was dislocated, i…

Believe me, this week was a horrible Memorial Week fail. Three cook outs since Thursday. It wasn't the coke. It was the beer, and the pie, and all of those kebabs. Mm, kebabs. Granted as a vegetarian I was able to stick to vegetables, but I still put on 5 pounds this week between the drinking and eating. It was horrible.

I have long, fine, pin straight hair that tangles horribly. I'll tell you my secrets, and that I get lots of compliments on my hair. I do not brush my hair. In the last year, it has been brushed twice, when I've gotten hair cuts. I shampoo and condition every few days. I try to wash my hair as little as possible. In the…

Before I left, I weighed in at 130. With shoes on, I was at 129.0, and with shoes off, I was at 127.4 Now that you guys mention it, I really think I can attribute it to a different eating style. We ate three meals a day, at the same time. I would say each meal consisted of anywhere between 400-500 calories, and would…

You don't need to go and shove random things in your body to eat more than 1200 calories a day. As everyone else has said, you should be aiming for a bit more than that. Aim maybe for 400 calories four times a day. That would give you 400 calories at three meals, and two 200 calorie snacks, putting you at 1600 calories for…

This made me really sad as I finished eating my cheerios. I always eat a 1.5 cups just to make me feel full, but not you're telling me this may be an extreme amount. =( Oh no.

I have struggled with this incredibly. I'm 22 and 5'4. I'm active and exercise regularly and at 130, am a healthy body weight that I'm trying to tone. But this stomach! No matter how much work I'd put in, it would always bulge out! So here's some advice. Twice in my life I've had a flat stomach. When I stopped eating for a…

You could also get a fresh jalapeno and cut out the sodium used to preserve canned stuff. ;D

I was starving after my work out, and didn't want to make a bad choice of a wrap or sandwich. I ended up making two eggs and an english muffin, totaling 270 calories. It gave me my protein after my workout, and some carbs for an energy boost to keep me going till dinner!

Is it horrible that I can still eat a foot long? Granted I had one yesterday at 4pm and didn't have to eat anything until 9pm, which was a small snack! Veggie Delite Honey Oat Pepper Jack Cheese All Vegetables (Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Lettuce, Onion, Jalapeno, Black Olives, Spinach) Lite Mayo or Honey Mustard Generally comes…

For me, camping is a tent, a fire we make ourselves, and a camping pot. So eating can be a challenge. Here's how I deal with it. Find a recipe for your own granola bars and make some of those. The pre-packaged ones are extremely high in sugar, and by making your own, you can fit them to your taste. We generally spend a lot…

I'm 5'5 with a goal weight of 125, currently 132, but I tend to be extremely curvy! I carry all my weight in my hips and thighs. If you'd like some ideas. Here's me at my lowest last summer of 115. I got told I needed to eat a lot. You could see my chest bones and for once my thighs didn't touch. But I loved this weight…

Chinese food. Pad Thai. General Tso's Tofu. Fried Rice. All that greasy oil is just heaven.

Tofu is the most versatile food ever! http://vegandad.blogspot.com/search/label/tofu I love a lot of his recipes and they're pretty simple to make. Also I really enjoy just cutting it into strips and baking it 15 minutes on each side at 375 and eating it plain.

Haha, thanks everyone. I know a lot of it comes down to they want me to join in so they feel better about what they're eating. I invite them to exercise with me but they complain about how out of shape they are, or they don't have the time. I make time for exercise. It's a great way I feel to burn off some stress. I also…

Quinoa is almost like a rice/pasta/couscous type deal. I once used it in a recipe to make homemade veggie burgers.

As a vegetarian in college, here's my typical day. Hopefully it helps. Breakfast : Either a bowl of Kashi Go Lean Crunch with Soy Milk. Or. 2 Eggs on an English Muffin. Both are 300 calorie options. Lunch / Snack : Granola bars, either home made if you can or packaged. Banana. Kashi TLC Whole Grain Crackers. All three…

Hey girls! I missed weighing Wednesday, but two days isn't a huge thing, ahah. Starting Weight: 135 Goal Weight: 125 Current Weight: 129 I couldn't tell you how excited I am. For the first time since October, the scale dipped below 130. Considering in Octber I weighed 119, this is a huge thing. I'm thinking its a fluke. I…

finals time and the end of the semester is an ultimate diet disaster. I have found myself eating constantly just to stay awake. 2-3 hours a night sleeping. eat eat eat eat. do it over again. exercise? who has time for that right now? i hate you 18 credit semesters and studio art classes.

So how do you guys deal with a binge eating night? I've been doing well. Eating less. Not being as hungry through the day and keeping up with exercising. I've felt great and happier with myself. Tonight a group of friends went out for burritos. Not just any burritos. Monster sized. With sour cream, guacamole, potatoes,…

Hey girls, I'd like to join in on this as well. Just started using MyFitnessPal and it would really help to have motivation from those around. Here's a little about me. I'm a junior going on a senior in college. I'm generally active over the summer with biking, ultimate Frisbee, and hiking, but jumped from 119 to 135 over…
