At least it was consistent each time I stepped on it. ;)

Tried my new scale. Should I believe it or the one at the doctor's office? They cannot both be right. Even my self-hating, pessimistic self cannot believe I have gained 60 pounds in the last two weeks.

If you have access to pool (community, wellness center, your own backyard, a friend's backyard, whatever) you could try either swimming or just walking in the water. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and asthma. One or the other, often both, make exercising a nightmare. The doctors say loosing weight will help the…

OK, so...new scale ordered and arrived. I haven't used it yet, so no personal info on reliability. I think I will use three readings each time and keep track of them all, using the average as what I consider myself to weigh.

You look so happy! Way to go!

Is your friend new to the internet in general? Message boards specifically? It is difficult to find any forum where NONE of the posts or threads are shallow or uninteresting; add in that this is a body-focused site and it is amazing how little of that there is. If what is in the Chit-Chat forum compared to the number of…

Looking great! Keep up the good work!

That is fabulous, Resty! If you kept this up while things were the way they were, just imagine how much better it can get. I am very happy for you. Keep up the good work!

You're giving up after only an hour? You DO need someone to kick you in the butt! Suck it up and let people have a chance to read your post. It is Saturday, for crying out loud! And in some parts of the world it is LATE, or EARLY. Geez! Anyway, sure. I am just starting out, but I can pipe in when it looks like you are…

I share many of the ones already listed, stores, roller coasters, bathing suits. Also, I would love to be able to tie my shoes sitting in a chair, instead of needing to be on the bed where I can bring my leg up next to me. Like many others have said - TRAVEL! No worries on a plane, no worries walking around a fabulous…

I am so far below calorie goal tonight that I plan to eat a salad WITH lasagna instead of instead of lasagna. (That sentence got away from me grammatically.) And I have skipped breakfast two days in a row. I am not hungry at 7am!

I am not afraid!

Awesome! What an example! You go, Girl!

My favorite is where the guys show up at an inn and the parking lot is full of identical cars because there is a Supernatural convention going on.

On top of whatever medication your doctor prescribes, sometimes just getting out of the chair and getting moving, even when that is the LAST thing you want, can make you feel better. Just knowing that you made that choice and did it can help.

Carrying on after a slip up is hard for me as well. There is a powerful "Well, THAT didn't work. Screw it!" voice in my head. Learning not to listen has been one of the hardest and most important of the changes I have had to make. (mentally)

Whoa! I didn't even see this thread until now. It must have been buried. I guess I averaged about 30 minutes, mostly walking and weights.

Great job! I am hoping to be able to handle this in the Spring. I love reading inspiration from people who did it! You rock!

Looking good! I can't wait until I can do that with my jeans! Keep up the good work!

I popped in to say hi. We don't live in KY, but my husband grew up there. I love going to visit. So jealous of everyone close to Owensboro. We go to Moonlite BBQ every time we visit. Then again, for losing weight, maybe it is a good thing we are far away! The family up there is Cats all the way.

Awesome job! Keep up the good work!

It sounds like you had a great time that will last a lot longer than 2 hours! Way to go!

So, have the DC execs actually SEEN any Ben Affleck movies?! Avengers not only had the previous movie foundation, but Joss Freakin' Whedon! Ben Affleck?! &^%&^ *sigh If only I ran Hollywood...

The easiest (out of a lot of not-easy choices) is just to not have the bad stuff in the house. (and don't get in the car to go get some when you feel down.) One thing I noticed was that if there is a bag of Doritos in the kitchen, I will end up with Doritos with my lunch, and maybe a snack later, etc. But...no Doritos = no…

Since I started walking this week, I noticed my feet slid around in my shoes a lot. When I got home, I checked the size and saw I had bought men's size 10 instead of womens. These are cheap, Walmart sneakers, so I don't begrudge the money. But, I need to replace them. But, Idon't want another set of cheap Walmart sneakers.…

Amazing, Tara! Keep up the good work!

Hello! New to the thread, and MFP in general. Goal for this week - Get the lawnmower repaired.

I considered a few "magic pills" but after seeing "Take with balanced diet and exercise" on the label, I figured they were a rip-off. If I could do diet and exercise, why would I need your pill? Then when "weird food" fads came around I just knew I would never stick to it. Or, if I miraculously did, then what? I cannot eat…

Hello, Everyone. My name is Kim. I live in Mississippi with my wonderful husband and our 3 daughters. My current weight is 326. I started using MFP a year and a half ago, but never came into the forums. I only used the calorie counter, and that only about 5% of the time (if that) Going from 350 - 326 was more a matter of…

I am glad to hear I am not the only one who thinks these things. I usually just smile or say something about how hard it is to lose weight, while I am thinking "Shut the f#%& up. I do NOT want to hear you whine about how hard life is at 150."
