  • Write it all down. Read it then screw it up and throw it away - let it go. Maybe even consider the relationship you are having with the person or persons that have upset you - call them to task if they are in the wrong. Expressing it here has probably made you feel a bit better anyway. Everything passes. I have moments…
  • Its okay, just not much fun. Older women who don't exercise often have to drop that low to lose weight. It might be sustainable but I would hazard that mentally most might end up busting out. Of course we could survive on it but hey, its not much fun a year down the track.
  • Make sure you are eating enough in the first part of the day, evening cravings can be a sign that you aren't eating enough during the day. Having a small portion of what you crave earlier in the day can help as you can stick to the small portion you can alot yourself. ie 1 chocolate square/1 biscuit or whatever. Drink…

  • Personally I have to count. I have years and years and years of over eating - so I have no idea of what is normal. The counting helps me re educate myself,I may have to do it forever I don't really know. I have noticed of course that 'good' food is more filling, more nutritious and more satisfying and often not very high…
  • If you'd asked me last year I would have said,no I don't want to exercise. I am 55yrs old. Now 3 solid calendar months later I am reaping the benefits of exercise. I don't gym it, my knee injury last year dictated that I find something that wouldn't hurt my knee. Most exercise was out, so I took up swimming and what a…
  • Its all about the tendon in your foot being stretched to flat for whatever reason ie rolling in out etc. Good arch supports are the way to keep the tendon from over stretching. Good support shoes are a must of course. If your shoes and supports aren't helping you need better ones or ones that work for you. Stretching as…
  • I gained approx. 1lb (I talk in kilos) in the week of my birthday. I didn't really over eat but at a lot of highly refined carbs - junk food. My calorie intake wasn't really that over but within several days I had lost it again. Don't fret its probably fluid. Get over it and move on. Thats in the past, think about today.…
  • Its calorie deficit that really creates weight loss. Exercise helps of course. There are many threads and places with lots of information. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/952996-level-obstacles-lose-weight-target-fat-easy http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/912920-in-place-of-a-road-map-3-2013 and another one…
  • I have had two periods of no weight loss for two weeks in the seven months I have been doing this. I even gained - for what appeared no reason two weeks ago. Serious reflection indicated that I ate more highly refined carbohydrate around the day of my birthday. Whilst I hadn't grossly over ate it must have been enough to…
  • Its working for me.
  • I'm an older woman (55) my TDEE is about 1950 at my current weight. I was at about 1200 for awhile when I wasn't exercising (due to a knee injury). As soon as I started exercising I had to increase my calories because I stopped losing weight and felt miserable. I upped my calories and started losing again. Yes some people…
  • I don't think its in your head. The heart monitor sounds like a good idea. It does sound like you may be going at it "too hard". If they are the only videos you have , stop trying to keep up and just work at a pace you can manage, skipping bits when you get too far behind. After awhile you will co-ordinate better. I swim…
  • Most of the time I do have more energy. I have been moderating my eating since September 2013 (this time) and over all I have more energy. If I eat a lot of highly refined carbs (junk food - take away, lots of biscuits, cakes etc - white flour products, high sugar content refined foods) I definitely feel more sluggish.…
  • I decided to change things last September, told No one except my partner that I was trying to eat better. I didn't talk about my lifestyle change to any one really except the odd person I trusted in my work place who have a fitness lifestyle (they understand the best). Most continued to push unsuitable food on me at…
  • If your honest about your intake, weighing and measuring. Stop weighing yourself for at least a week. The exercise idea above sounds possible. Menstruation effects all women by at least a kilo in their cycle. Stop weighing yourself all the time, its a mistake.
  • All of the Above + PERSISTENCE. Keep going, push through negative self-talk. Get back on track if you wander off. NEVER GIVE UP.
  • I would guess that you are under estimating the calorific value of your indian food. A reasonable portion would probably be quite small. Looking in the food data base on here most cupfuls are at least 250 cals and some things are even 500 cals per cup/portion. This would be your problem.
  • I agree with leannabseven. Another point to consider is that he might want to sabotage you changing - your weight loss may threaten his security right now. Anyway don't get hurt, tell him to help out. He's a grown up for gods sake. It is about focusing on what you want to achieve for you. I stopped eating my feelings last…
  • Highly refined carbohydrate has no nutritional value. Its junk. 'sugar detox' is just a description for this. No one needs added sugar, white flour products etc. Of course the brain uses glucose. The body is a factory it breaks down complex foods for us to use.
  • I'm trying to lose but yes I have days after exercising that I could eat and eat. And it isn't all the time. I make sure I'm eating enough and stick to my calorie goals - different for you I know. I use my TDEE and exercise calories to monitor my intake and trust those numbers.
  • Like everyone has said, take care of yourself. Wanting him to change is like saying he isn't good enough the way he is. Accept him exactly the way he is. Let it go and do your thing for you. See where this journey takes you. Putting pressure on him can create fractures in your relationship. If you focus on your self…
  • Reset your goals, find some internet sights for women and compare maintenance information.
  • Each to their own. Try anything with doctors supervision! Give it ago. I made a decision to stop over eating last September due to a ridiculous injury caused by my being too heavy. Enough was enough for me. In late January I started swimming, thanks to someones enthusiasm for it right here on MFP. Thanks to another thread…
  • Water retention etc. around your menstral cycle can increase weight up to a kilo. Weigh and measure all your food most people under report what they are eating.
  • I can't answer why this would have happened. I can only suggest that you are eating more than you realise. Weigh and measure everything and enter it into your food diary. If you have a medical condition that requires you to take steroids you can retain a lot of fluid and weigh more. If you had heart failure and were…
  • You aren't consuming enough calories at lunch. Your breakfast sounds semi-okay but your lunch is inadequate. Sounds like evening breakout eating cause your body's looking for more cals. Eat more earlier in the day.:flowerforyou:
