I was reminded of the time that DH went into the (unfinished, concrete floor) basement early one morning during a heavy rain. The floor had an inch of water over much of it. He was hesitant to wake me up to help since the NEW sump pump was still in the box, right next to the broken one he was suppose to replace... Well, it…

130.2 Sat. morning. That may be challenged in the coming months - we got our first cartons of Horizon Organic Eggnog at Acme today. It's my favorite. Charlie: I treading to Twenty Again - very enjoyable - especially Producer Dimples (Lee Sang Yoon). DH and I were watching Chuno together and I saw that Angry Mom was only on…

Gayle and dasher-gal: Have you read any of the Flavia de Luce books by Alan Bradley? DH and I heard the audio-versions - excellent reader Jayne Entwistle!

Staying in maintenance range, this week 129.6-131.0. I'm reading "Something from the Oven: Reinventing dinner in 1950s America" (published in 2004). While it is simplistic to say 'I am responsible for what goes in my mouth' that is not to ignore the effects of my low thyroid (treated) or aging metabolism has on my weight.…

I'm also a bit late, but my mornings ranged from 129.8 -130.4. Actually surprised this morning to see 130.0. Yesterday was a world-tour, I took Turkish Spinach Cake (with 1lb. of spinach in it, it is incredibly green! let me know if you want the recipe) to Korean class in the morning. Then joined a new group of woman that…

Dasher: This is the only place I continue to look at. I like this small group of women! After tracking everything that went in my mouth for 18 months I just stopped logging when I hit my goal. Just couldn't do it anymore. But I do want to maintain my streak of maintenance! Today is 5 months of maintaining my morning weight…

Only in my imagination and dramaland! It's gotten so DH and I recognize landscapes, cliffs and sets re-used from various dramas. Today friends came over to make kimchi. It's my 6th batch - their first. We'll leave our 2-quart jars out for 3 days before putting in smaller jars in the fridge where it will continue to ferment…

Fortunately I weighed it at 130.4 this morning before our class meet-up at the Korean restaurant. I think DH and I are skipping dinner tonight. I mentioned to the chef that I wanted to know when he had an opening in his kitchen. He said I'll let you know. I said I'm serious. He said I'm serious too. He's going to be…

Let me raise my hand and join you Gayle. I too have a predisposition to depression. It really flared up after my first child was born and that was the first time I took anti-depressants. My GP later told me he thought my 1st husband was part of my problem. Finally getting rid of that burden years later did make me feel…

Thanks - I've finished up some big projects and am happy to get back into my sewing room - partly because I enjoy looking at my carpet in there :)

Gayle: I wasn't too sure about the new Dr but DH has always liked him since the movie Local Hero. I've adjusted and think he's doing a fine job. I just read that Steven Moffat has even considered bringing back K9. Somewhere in our house is a signed photo of Tom Baker that DH sister got for him. hmm... need to look for it!…

Gayle: I hope you enjoyed the new season episodes! So who was your first Dr.? Friends introduced me during Tom Baker. A few Drs after him weren't so great... but when it started again with Christopher Eccleston -wow! we haven't missed any.

Since it isn't food related I'm putting this here- I've been thinning out (pun!) my larger clothes and was reluctant to donate a jacket that reminded me of Buffalo Gap Folk Dance Camp. It self was a pun because it had spaced buffalo around the edge. DH said something about a pillow... so I was inspired to make this:…

Charlie: We finished "Sang Doo, Let's Go To School". It was Rain's debut drama and he was amazing. If you haven't seen it I won't say more. We also finished The Scholar Who Walks the Night. Then I finished Falling in Love with Soon Jung. Wow you could really dislike the evil second lead in that one! We're still nibbling…

keeping steady.. 9/25 130.2 Last weekend was a Korean Festival at the Delaware Art Museum. Our school went as a group. I was glad to meet the chef of the local Korean restaurant that provided lunch items. He assured me that he doesn't use MSG (makes me feel like nails in my head) and was concerned that I was told…

Sept 4: 128.8... Sept 18: 129.8 - keeping in range (129-132) I did update my pic that was take last fall. Since I stopped logging my food I don't look at my page much. Today I did update my streak. I do like checking in here though to see how everyone is doing. When I looked at pounds/months I realized that while I had MFP…

I love pumpkin! In the fall I hang this applique up in my kitchen, I made it a couple years ago. This is one of my favorite fall recipes. I use pumpkin instead of butternut squash since we grow "eating" pumpkins. myrecipes.com/recipe/creamy-light-macaroni-cheese

I remember reading about the "hotel workers" study years ago and finally googled it today. It is interesting that considering housework as exercise can change how our body reacts to the activity. npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=17792517 Maybe it is a bit more that just placebo effect. I don't grumble if I forget…

Sept 4: 128.8 Sept 11: 128.8 I signed up online for the National Weight Control Registry. They mail out packets every two months - so I don't know how soon that will be. dasher: LOL! mapmyrun sounded like something Korean I've haven't tasted yet... "gravel roads" made me reconsider. Charlie: have you found the frozen…

Lill you may want to check your math again... 190-188.5 is 1.5. I don't know about categorizing weight lost as water or whatnot, unless you peed out 3 cups (finally the saying makes sense to me! a pint is a pound the world around). Gone is gone in my book!
-
Lill I am also a night owl and now that I don't log in my food I like to reset my counter to the number of maintenance days when I remember. Today is 118 days in my target range of 130-132. Here is the link to reset your counter: https://myfitnesspal.com/account/login_counter_reset_request

Lill: Im not hungry enough to eat 1200 cals a day, but my body cant think im starving when im 60 lbs too heavy, right? Charlie, weigh in here too (pun!) with you thoughts... but I disagree. You should eat more. You may have an extra 60 lbs but you are slowing your metabolism down by eating less than 1200 cal. I never went…

Beth: taking a scale along may sound silly but I felt more confident when I was at my friend's kennel in NY for a week since I weigh every morning. Actually it was my sister's scale and we ended up forgetting to pack it up - but it's there for the next time! Charlie: Late Night Restaurant is very nice - perfect 30 min. for…

LOL I saw my name and was puzzled for a second! If I was there I would bring you my own Red Raspberry Freezer Jam. Nothing as creative as your combos - I would put some bacon in the Tomato Basil Soup and have some cheese, crackers and pear on the side. Those fig and olive crackers sound good! Where's the chocolate??
-
Funny you should mention that.. Trader Joe's is about 50 min away but we end up at that end of Delaware often. Today DH took an insulated bag and freezer packs and brought home 5 pkgs of pajeon. They are in the freezer section, four in a bag - ask someone if you can't fine them. Don't bother adding oil to the pan as…

Here is my new favorite breakfast/anytime meal. Didn't think I would like the fennel but it works well. I love cardamon. It makes four servings. Add some water when I microwave it the next day. There is no sweetener it the porriage. I top it with 1/4-1/2 C. vanilla greek yogurt and berries (yesterday it was red…

My DH looked at me the other day and said 'you need a vacation' - true, but when you're self employed like both of us are, sometimes everything comes at once. I've been juggling a lot this summer and a few are almost complete. I'm sure the activity has been keeping me on track weight-wise:) This is his busy time too - he…

Today is my 100th day on maintenance. Every morning weight between 129-131.8. Practicing portion control and getting in an hour of activity (cleaning, dancing &/or treadmill) every day. washingtonpost.com/news/wonkblog/wp/2015/08/11/the-absurdity-of-womens-clothing-sizes-in-one-chart/ Did anyone see this article on women's…

DH had an evening hockey game so he was falling asleep by 10:30. I went out alone to a clear sky at 11:30 and saw a dozen meteors. Composed a limerick (DH is much better at this than I am): When asked how I lost this much weight, It's due to a much smaller plate. Watching k-dramas still While on the treadmill Has made it…
