Yes. HYE had a date with two different people in the same day?

Cooking Light has a Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese that is now a family favorite: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/creamy-light-macaroni-cheese I usually make it with some of our backyard pie pumpkins, and cook up some kale on the side.

At 5'2" my highest was 180. It has been a year to steadily lose 35 lbs. but I'm not complaining. Though I'm 60 yo long-time friends say I look as though I've lost 20 years :D I still have 15 lbs. to goal. I'm glad costco has $14.99 jeans - I've gotten 2 pair each time I've gone down a size (18, 16, 14 and now 12).

After watching the Korean drama 'Kimchi Family' (aka Fermentation Family - wonder why that name didn't stick??) we got 'The Kimchi Cookbook'. It has great instructions for beginners and we've made two batches so far. Friends joined in making the second batch because they said it was better than any that they've bought. I…

A few years ago I got an Escali digital scale, the Pana - Bakers Model (http://www.escali.com/pana-baking-kitchen-scale). It's one of my most used kitchen tools. It has been great since I started MFP a year ago. Besides the basic pound, ounce, and grams - it can also measure volume. For example: I weigh out my morning…

I'm reminded of my daughter's story: She started working at an insurance company in her early 20s. She is very cute and outgoing. She said many times she'd get back home and be in tears because the office women were very harsh to her. As she put on weight they started to treat her nicer.

I say it's all due to MFP and watching Korean dramas while I'm on the treadmill. Many have heard or used MFP, but I haven't talked to anyone who watches kdramas. An hour (or more) is a treat when watching Lee Min Ho!

I kept thinking I was 5'3" but when I actually measured it was 5'2" - doesn't sound like much but it meant I had to lower my BMI goal another 5 lbs. I started MFP at 60yo/178 lbs. and now 1 year later I am at 144 lbs. - still have some more to go. It's not a cliche - good things do come in small packages!!

Raw, roasted or steamed till done, O broccoli! My heart you have won. From the peeled stalk that's sliced, to the florets so nice, You're like two veggies in one!

My husband introduced me to a new client of his, knowing that we had some job related similarities. We had a great time talking. After she left I thought - she sees me as a normal size person, never imagining I was 32 lbs heavier. I still have 12 lbs. to go, but I feel more confident. And I can't stop looking at myself in…

The creamiest combo is 2 parts cold water to 1 part oatmeal cooked on the stovetop. Now I prefer the microwave since it has eliminated cleaning out the saucepan. My husband microwaves 1/2 C. water and 1/2 C. oatmeal - gets something that look like road gravel - too coarse for me!

So true! Though the same weight, my sister carries her weight above the waist and enjoyed body building for a time. My weight tended to be lower and I did bellydancing.

You're asking the question I'd like to know too! Though, I always thought of myself as 5'3" until a recent measurement came up at 5'2" :( I just turned 60 and would like to be in the 130-135 range, that is where I was in my 20s-30s. I see that it will put me in the normal BMI and is a realistic goal - I'm a curvy build.
-
Thanks for the encouragement! My goal was to get to a 'normal range BMI' and I don't think under 130 would be very realistic for me. I have curves too! You make a good point, since I'm not usually hungry I'll stick where I am for now. Some posts sound so technical that I was wondering if I was missing something. It been…

nice?? more like WONDERFUL!!! Hurray! Hurray for you!

I had two teeth out at the periodontist a couple weeks ago. Though I wasn't looking forward to it it wasn't as bad as I imagined - and I have a very colorful imagination!! Only had the areas numbed up and was able to walk out of there. I ate enough at breakfast and lunch to hold me over and had applesauce and yogurt for…

I've never been interested in joining a gym and dislike even the thought of running. I use my tread mill walking at 2-3 mph. I use to do it for 45 minutes/day but now I can watch a Korean drama episode (check out First Shop Coffee Prince) and they are 60+ minutes and the time flies by!! I won't watch unless I treading so…

I like your idea of a jean quilt. Here's another idea - I made a hanging denim panel that I sewed jean back pockets on to hold my craft supplies. My goal is to fit in the jean skirt I made in college from a boyfriends jeans. It has fabric panels where I ripped the legs open and is covered in patches and embroidery. Great…

I'm in Maryland, but Delaware was the same. Maybe its become too personal to ask now..??

Friends who have known me for almost 40 yrs. have said I look younger since I've lost 22 lbs (so far and still going) - good to know since my husband is 12 yrs. younger than me - but he's much more mature!!

As I was trying on, and fitting into!, some summer dresses that had been long packed away this is the topic that came to mind. Fitting into those "maybe someday" clothes in the back of the closet is very rewarding! 18 lbs. so far. Slowly but steadily. The first sign of success was I needed a ring guard, then my jeans were…

I started with MFP a few months ago (8 lbs off so far) and was just doing a google search for ring guards - my engagement ring has gotten quite loose. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised that it led me back to these message boards. Thanks for the handy tip! I had some clear thread in my sewing supplies, about the…
