There can be many reasons: too hot, too cold, too dry, too humid, you ate/drank too much, you ate/drank too little, you name it... Next time will be better.

Agreed! My first 10k was done in about the same amount of time and I was very proud of it! :) Congrats!

Increasing distance will lead to increasing pace eventually. Just be careful not to increase it too much to avoid injury. !0% as someone suggested above is a standard recommendation. After I finished my c25k I ran 5k three times a week for 2-3 weeks and then slowly started to increase one of the runs ( adding maybe 0.5-1…

You'll be just fine! By the way, I usually do much better during the races - probably all the people cheering make me run a little bit faster :)
-
You can also check out c25k group - people are very friendly and supportive there. http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/30-couch-to-5k-running-program-c25k And, yes, 12 min/mile is a very decent pace. Many long distance runners run at about this speed. Check out this topic:…

My phone does it to me quite often (we live in a rural area with a weak signal) and i hate it when it happens! Good thing I have few "standard" routes and know my pace pretty well, so if it drops the signal I can often "guesstimate" the distance pretty accurately and double check it late at home on MMF website...

Week & Day 1 is done! :)

Week 7 Day 1 done too! :) Cold and rainy, so went to gym and a pretty slow run on a treadmill...
-
Nice park! :) And congrats on moving into Week 5! :)
-
Yes, we did! Congrats on finishing Week 6! :)

Summer is coming... I went for a 6 mi run this morning and it already was warm and humid  I started feeling thirsty after 3 miles or so. Met some cows who scared the heck out of my dog :)

Congrats! My feet never burned, only muscles got sore... Try different shoes in a specialized store?
-
I stop for few sec and take it with my phone. Sometimes I do not even stop, but then they are really bad. I have a very simple phone with a very basic camera, so my hand should not shake. Here is one more from this morning. By the way, Week 6 is done! :)
-
Congrats! You can do the rest just fine as well! :)

I looked at your profile - Loveland! We visited some friends in Fort Collins and passed Loveland on our way to one of the parks. It's absolutely beautiful area where you live! You are so lucky! :)

This is so pretty! Reminds me of southeast Idaho... Where is this?

I am a nuclear physicist doing alchemy :) . Transmuting elements - zinc into copper, scandium into calcium, uranium into thousands of different isotopes, etcetera...

I'd do grad school right after my undergrad. And in general took my studies much more seriously... I could've been where I am now 10 years ago - unbelievable how much time I lost...

This. Be careful about your knees. I started it at 175 as well and got down to 140. Love running and had no serious problems, but saw people who were too heavy to run. Maybe you start fast walking?

Cute! :) Trail running is really hard for me and I usually run on paved or gravel roads. W6D2 is done. Nice easy evening run...
