How about a stir fry? You can mix the veggies and meat with some brown rice if necessary and it'll make it *easier* for him to eat them. Or maybe a stew / casserole?

YES! I can buy clothes in decent sizes, and generally take more pride in my appearance, which makes me feel good about myself in turn.

How can you have mild PCOS? Have you been tested? If you have been diagnosed with PCOS, you are possibly insulin resistant and could adopt a low GI diet for good results. Secondly, it looks like you're not eating enough, track your calories, track your exercise and try to meet your net.

You have done brilliantly. Good luck with the rest of your journey! This is something I also picked up this time around - after years of unsuccessful dieting - partially because life would get in the way, I'd overindulge, and then see an "up" number on the scales, be demotivated, eat more, and give up. It's so important…

Rest & try to eat healthily, if you find it difficult to stick to your net without exercise don't sweat about going over a couple of hundred or so. It's better to get well.

I rinse mine everday, but wash it by hand once a week. I daren't put it in my washing machine as it's a bit dodgy and sometimes overheats!

I *always* look, and I always end up feeling smug!

Well, for a start, if you eat "white" carbs like bread and pasta, switching to wholewheat versions will maintain your carb levels whilst reducing sugars and increasing fibre. Seeded breads also have a little protein in too.

Snooze for 15 mins, read facebook / news / mfp on my iphone, computer on, pee, weigh, record weight & Body Fat in my spreadsheet, dress, check everything is in my bag for my after-work workout, eat breakfast & prepare lunch for the day, brush teeth and wash face, then head off to work -.-

Most people on my friends list log it as circuit training, I think!

I think they probably eat the same as overweight emotional eaters - maybe not as much as they probably have smaller stomachs, but the thing is, the odd emotional eating day does not make you overweight, it's day to day habits that make you overweight. Even skinny people (gosh, I hate talking about them like they're some…

Thanks everybody! Luckily my diet isn't too far off a clean eating one (when I'm being good, the last week has sucked a bit!) because I generally eat Low GI which isn't too dissimilar. mililieitner - there is a farmer's market near me - but sadly it's only the first Sunday of the month :( I'll be checking it out on the 3rd…

Fabulous, thank you!

It is EXTREMELY unlikely that water will adversely affect your weight loss - I'd say impossible but there's bound to be somebody on here with a bizarre allergy to water who may prove me wrong. It's probably something else that is the problem... As for the bloating, have you been drinking tap water or mineral? Tap water can…

A poppadom is about 80-90 cals, and the chutney is about 60 per teaspoon. Plain rice will probably set you back about 200-300 cals and a veggie curry about 300-400 depending on the amount of oil used. So all in all, I'd guesstimate it all at about 800 calories, maybe a little more depending on portion sizes etc. Enjoy your…

It is possible to eat healthily in an Indian restaurant - go for dry dishes - chicken tandoori, chicken shashlick. Dahls are also relatively healthy and delicious (provided you like lentils!). Do NOT go for naan or bhajis or samosas. Avoid the pilau rice too - go for boiled if you have to. Enjoy! Indian is one of my…
