  • I am wondering that too. Definitely, it makes me wake up in the middle of the night - apparently so I can regret things in peace. Ha. Feeling better now and going to bed for a long sleep. Yankeedownsouth: That's GREAT!! I am so glad for you. I am going to get there too. I can feel it.
  • Hoping to get there and stay there too. After last night's migraine it will probably be awhile before I crave it but "awhile" can mean as little as 24 hours from now. Good for you though! I am happy for you.
  • Think I'm realizing that about myself too. Good to know you have done it before without going crazy. My doctor will be glad too. The last time it came up, she was very clear: NOT OKAY to have 2-3 drinks most nights of the week. Gulp.
  • Wow! You should be proud. Way to go. I'm glad you're here!
  • thanks! I did have the wine but that was NOT a good idea! Going to give it up entirely. Just rambled on about it on one of the other strings but crappy migraine and stuffed head today seal the deal: no mas. I never thought I'd be a tee-totaler but it looks like I am for now.
  • Hey all! So glad to hear of people losing the craving. I think mine might be dying for good (see below) which is something I could NEVER have predicted. Tea is good - going to invest in a diffuser pot this weekend so I can drink all these really nice teas a friend brought me from China. As best as I can tell from the…
  • Congratulations and Happy Anniversary!! Hearing you say you have not missed a single day of logging is inspiring in and of itself - let alone the amazing weight loss. Happy new you!
  • dunkrob - I am SO similar! I am hoping to break this pattern by being more active in the Community here on mfp. Also, I am trying really hard to wash my hands a lot at the gym so I don't get sick and hit the inevitable skid too soon. (I am convinced this is where I pick up the most viruses.) I have always been someone who…
  • Hi - That is a time that calls for mucho strength. I always try to have cold herbal teas and/or interesting non-alcoholic things to drink (chai tea, etc.) in the house when people come over so that anyone who doesn't want to drink alcohol still has some more festive options but - whaddya know! - I haven't really tried…
  • thanks for the thoughts. I am tempted to drink something tonight (got good news at work) but am hesitant to ruin my progress so far. Also, I have spinning tomorrow a.m. and want to beast it. Make that Beast It. Will let you know what I decide to do....
  • OW!! You go.
  • I think that sounds like a good way to start. I didn't have the discipline to stop at one glass but more power to you if you can. I want to get to that level.
  • Hi - ha! yes, during homework. It makes it tolerable sometimes. I swear that they make the directions as vague as possible on some of those assignments.
  • Good to know it helped with your weight loss - it'll inspire me to keep at it if I think there's a definite pay off. And happy to help however I can! Good for you for having only 5-7 to go. I have more like 30. I need to weigh in but just haven't lately. Fingers crossed that I have lost something in last few weeks. Have…
  • Good to have all of you on board! This makes night 3 for me with no wine and it feels good actually. Monday nights are busy for us anyway and so don't miss it as much. Which is not to say that I didn't crave it a little driving home. I think part of the problem for me is that it is just so hard to RELAX! Plus I love love…
  • Grrlface - sounds ambitious! Good for you. I am sure you will see big results. My birthday is in April too. I am considering joining you for this one... Lemme visualize saying No at a dinner party for a bit.
  • Hey HelenofTroy - Good for you! I'm glad you made it through the Big craving. It is really hard sometimes! I think for me it's KNOWING that a glass would help me relax. Last night, though, I had said out loud (on this forum and to my husband) that I wasn't going to have any and so couldn't very well back out and so had to…
  • Hi - Good for you! I think it is really hard at first but the one thing I like is the no-arguing or bargaining with myself. I don't have a glass and then think 'well, one more..." and then think the same thing 20 minutes later when that one is almost gone. I keep telling myself it is Just a Craving and It Will Pass. (I…
  • Hey there, Great to see you all here. I love that knowing good wine from bad ruined some of the fun - have been there myself but then was able to rally and like the rot gut again. Woke up Saturday with what was at least in part a hangover - and in part a nasty sinus headache brought on by the red wine? or was it all just…
  • Hey A support group....great idea!! Hey there - I started the group. It is called No Winers. Come check it out!
  • Scorpangel - is that really you in the little 3-photo set on your status bar? If so, you look amazing! (And you are very good with technology.)
  • Hey all! I did set up a support group: it is called No Winers. Join me over there if you want to help each other keep the liquid calorie count down.
  • Mommybird we are almost twins! I am not quite 5'8"1/2 - more like 5'8" - but same weight and same love of 2-3 glasses a night. Let me know if you want to become friends. Either way GOOD FOR ALL HERE who are (considering) giving it up. And THANKS as you have inspired me to make a change. I used to have much less trouble…
  • Fantastic work! You should be so proud!! And you look great!
  • Hi - We might be fraternal twins even if not identical. I am also 5'8". Highest weight ever probably about 185. CW 166. GW#1 135 GW#2 TBD Age 48 Want to friend each other? Martha H. (aka Change_Agent)
  • WOW! You look great! Congratulations!
  • Oh Holy Moly! That's an amazing weight loss! I would love to see pics. I am just starting downward from 165ish. Like you, I am 5'8". My first goal is 135 but I want to see then too. I can believe more would feel good. I think it's just all about how happy you are with where you are now. Certainly, you're in a healthy range…
  • Hey there, Love your name! I want witchy boots! I feel the need for some friends too. I have been a really lame, spotty logger (that's gotta be an insult in some culture) and am trying to get better. I know this week will be spotty again as I will be travelling but hoping to be a bit more accountable going forward. My goal…
  • Hi Sue, I do -just started myfitnesspal and really like it. I note how much I slept and thoughts about what worked or how could have prevented running off track. MH
