http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/workouts/ I would check out the Beginner Body Weight work outs at the link above but the Angry Birds one might be easier to ease yourself back into things ;) Good luck!

I really enjoy sauteeing some veggies (usually onion, mushrooms, radish, peppers, whatever I have in the fridge really), then adding a can of tuna to the pan for a few minutes to lightly brown. Then I add some eggs and scramble it all up together. Yummy.

I am the same as Mike. While I was trying to lose, I logged everything. But I also was only eating clean, not eating paleo/primal at the time. Since making the switch to paleo last October, I rarely log my food. Every few months I'll track it for a week or two just to keep an eye on my protein intake and make sure I…

You should generally try to get 1g of protein for every lb you weigh, or more if you are looking to gain weight through muscle. This usually ends up equalling about 30-35% as your protein macro goal. Protein will help you feel full and satiated longer than carbs do. I took a peak at your diary and it looks decent! There…

I second the following: theclothesmakethegirl.com nomnompaleo.com whole9life.com robbwolf.com And I definitely recommend checking out "It Starts With Food", as someone else already mentioned. Of the many paleo & primal resources I've read, I think this one does it best.

^^This. Those little timers work great for situations like this.

I was already at my goal weight when I started paleo. After almost 2 months, I had unintentionally dropped another ten lbs even though I felt like I was stuffing my face with food all the time! My bf did it at the same time as me and lost about 6 lbs, mostly from his face and what little belly fat he had.

Is there any reason you're trying to keep your calories below 1200? Unless you're under 5 ft, it's usually not healthy to net less than this amount (after exercise). You don't appear to have much to lose based on your ticker, I would recommend re-doing your goals on here to reflect your new style of eating. Keeping your…

Real mayo is really just an egg, a healthy oil like olive oil (not canola), lemon juice and usually a few spices. There isn't anything particularly healthy with that. That being said, this is not how Miracle Whip or most store bought brands are made so OP is correct about that.

I agree with Jindra about doing the research into the fats and cholesterol. Robb Wolf's book, The Paleo Solution, has an excellent section explaining what fat really does in your body (provided it's from good, healthy sources and not man-made) and how cholesterol really works. I actually find the following link a really…

If you've been on MFP for any length of time, you've probably seen these before. But sometimes we need reminders so... http://media-cache-ec6.pinterest.com/upload/135178426285350333_jDtlijha_c.jpg http://media-cache-ec3.pinterest.com/upload/36521446948224299_ksSzKnr9_c.jpg…

The following was written as a timeline for the Whole 30, but honestly when I went paleo for the first 30 days (not being as strict as the whole30 is) I experienced much of this. http://whole9life.com/2012/06/the-whole30-timeline/ Stick with it, once you get past the first 2-3 weeks you will feel better! Good luck :D

Exactly! Even a little bit of cream or milk in my coffee now and I'm like eww, this doesn't even taste like coffee anymore! Don't even get me started on "flavoured coffees". I used to love French Vanilla coffee (with cream & sugar of course). Try to drink that stuff black and you'll find it tastes like perfume. How…

As someone who used to drink coffee with 2 creams/milks and 2 sugars, I used to think I couldn't (WOULDN'T) drink black coffee either. Before I started paleo/primal though, I decided to try to ween myself off of it. It took a few months of gradually cutting back. I would do 2 weeks or so with one less sugar, then when I…

I def recommend picking up the book, so that in your moments of weakness you can really remind yourself what you are trying to do. I didn't have it the first time around, but now that I've read it I feel like it will be a lot easier. Plus I know now to MEAL PLAN ahead hehe :D Good luck to everyone who's going to give it a…

I have done it and even though I was eating Paleo before I did the Whole30, I still found some of it pretty tough (mostly when I wasn't prepared enough and had to eat out at work...who knows what's in those condiments, probably nothing Whole30 approved!). Worth it though, as my sugar cravings were squashed afterwards. I'm…

A good way to figure out how much protein to eat each day is to try to get about 0.8 to 1 g of protein for every lb of your bodyweight, or your "goal weight". So for example, if you weigh 150 and want to maintain that, aim for 150g of protein. When I started paleo I actually lost weight I didn't want to/expect. I weighed…

As long as you're eating good healthy fats, there's no need to be scared of it.. Without a good portion of fat to go with your protein, you'll probably be finding yourself 1)short on calories each day and 2)hungry a lot! Don't be scared of getting more than 35% fat. It won't MAKE you fat if it's coming from good sources.…

Because you said you don't want a minor thing to advance to a broken bone, may I ask if you are doing any heavy weight lifting? Lifting heavy is known to be one of the best ways (apart from getting adequate calcium) to build better bone density, and is usually recommended for women who are looking to prevent osteoporosis.…

I love spaghetti squash but will admit there is a bit of a learning curve to cooking it. If it's overcooked, it will be mushy and watery as other posters have mentioned. I line a baking sheet with tin foil and use no more than a tbsp of olive oil drizzled on the foil. I cut the squash in half and scoop out the guts and…

I don't think it will do anything to either rev up or slow down your metabolism, which is why most people think about doing it. For myself however, I notice that if I eat after dinner & before bed, I do not sleep very well. I either end up taking forever to fall asleep, or I wake up often during the night. Especially so if…

I get my calcium mostly from the foods that I eat. Greens such as collard, kale, broccoli, brussel sprouts are all good sources of calcium. I also love snacking on almonds, another good natural source. Here's a link to check out! http://www.healthhabits.ca/2011/11/04/top-13-non-dairy-calcium-rich-foods/

Happy to see someone linking to Nia! Love her stuff and this article is a great message for anyone and women especially :D

^^Truth. I would recommend reading studies as opposed to just taking WebMD's word for it.

The only time I tell people about the way that I eat is when they inquire about my diet, otherwise I try not to ever mention the fact that I don't eat grains, dairy, legumes or seed oils. It has worked very well for me, I just politely decline the constant cycle of sweets and baked goods that go around the office. When I…

I have to agree with the above poster. Apart from the fact that you didn't log each day (not a huge deal really), almost all the days you do log include non-paleo items like thin crust pizza, english muffins, cheese, egg "substitutes", soy lattes and multi-grain thins or breads. That means you definitely did not try…

The thing about doing a Whole30 is that you really have to be strict for the ENTIRE 30 days, no cheats, no excuses and no slip ups. No "well just this 1 day I will put milk in my coffee" halfway through, or allowing yourself to make an excuse for a special occasion. That will not only derail the progress you've made in…

Mel from The Clothes Make the Girl (linked above) is a huge Whole30 fan and I can see why, if you find this a real issue for you, you may want to look into doing a Whole30 yourself. It's basically doing a really strict 30 days of paleo eating (or 45 or 60 days, depending on how bad your cravings and triggers are). I never…
