  • I have the Eat Smart scale and it's ok. I prefer my sister's Salter - it was about the same price but is higher quality. The Eat Smart feels cheap in comparison. But - they both get the job done! I have had mine about 2 months and no battery issues.
  • In theory it's possible, but even if you were able to produce more than a few ounces, "filling up a few bottles" would take an hour at best. Probably easier to spend that time in the gym :)
  • Look up what your maintenance calories would be (set your goal to 0 lbs per week) and aim to be between your regular target and your maintenance target. You'll probably have some up days and some down days, but as long as you commit to getting back on plan as soon as you get back, at worst you will have a small hiccup.…
  • I gave up coffee and diet soda when I started my healthy eating - I switched to green tea. I was a black coffee drinker... usually one mug each of regular and decaf per day. I didn't have a particular reason to ditch the coffee, just that I knew green tea was good for you and so I switched. But I started sleeping SO much…
  • Oh man, that is discouraging! I can't see your diary, but how have you been doing on your calories? Have you been taking measurements? Unless you have eaten an extra 10,000 calories this week (and I think you would have noticed that) you did NOT gain back 3 lbs of fat. It has to be water - that's an intense exercise…
  • I just got back! :) Love that place. Single serve packs of unsalted almonds, low-sodium soups (butternut squash and tomato/red pepper), multigrain pita bite crackers (delicious with tuna on top for lunch), TJ brand greek yogurt - I try to get the plain because of the sugar in the flavored ones, the 2% is a perfect balance…
  • I didn't renew my membership because I was spending way too much money on things I didn't need :) Completely negated any possible savings (well that plus wasted food because no, I can't eat 4 lbs of grapes in one week)

  • Almonds - at Trader Joe's they have a big bag of single serve roasted unsalted almonds. One packet is 210 cals and 16g fat. You're generally way under on your fat so you have room there. I have them for an afternoon snack almost every day. You are killing the workouts, btw!! Nice!
  • I'm happiest if I can eat every 2-3 hours... roughly like this: 6:00 Breakfast 200 (I can't eat more than this... unhappy tummy) 9:30 Snack 100-200 12:00 Lunch 300 2:30 Snack 200 5:00 Snack 100 7:00 Dinner 300-350 8:00 Snack 100
  • I think you will just have to try it and see... I sleep like a log after doing cardio in the evening. I usually do mine around 6/6:30 though, so not too late, and am in bed around 9 & read till I fall asleep. I have to get up for work at 5:30 already so doing it in the morning isn't going to happen.
  • It depends on your current weight - definitely check with your doctor. When I was pregnant with my son (8 years ago!), under my dr's supervision, I maintained my weight (mommy weight going to baby weight, she always said) until about the last 6 weeks. I only gained 8 lbs, including a 7 lb baby :)
  • Your muscles hold on to water when they are recovering - so if you're sore, you've got extra water on board. Just keep drinking your water and give yourself rest days like you have been doing and the scale will catch up!
  • Isn't that weird?? I used to love McDonald's grilled chicken sandwiches. But, I have been watching my sodium lately. I had the sandwich last night and almost gagged, it was so salty.
  • I have been researching and unfortunately the ones without the chest strap seem to all be annoying and unreliable. Sounds like chest strap is the way to go! The good news is apparently once you have it on, you don't really notice it after a few minutes.
  • I have the app on my phone, I log most of my day while I am eating breakfast although I usually end up changing my dinner at the last minute. But it helps me to do it that way because then I have an appropriate number of cals left for the day by dinnertime. It would be a lot more difficult if I had to do everything on the…
  • Brilliant! I have tried it with choc syrup or sugar free pudding mixed in, but I didn't even think of adding the pudding MIX!
  • I signed up for a 4-mile run/walk with my coworkers. I started walking and trying to do C25K. I found MFP while looking for an iphone app to track weight loss from the exercising. I wasn't planning to start a "diet" but - the calorie counting totally WORKS with my brain and the app makes it so easy for me. I have lost 10…
  • I drink mine through those little coffee straws, helps a lot with the staining
  • The daily fluctuations make me crazy! I try to do once a week (Monday morning) but usually end up checking in on Thursday and sometimes Saturday.
  • I have a mini elliptical (inMotion) that I got on Amazon for $80 - it's great for while watching tv. I also have Just Dance 2 for the Wii, and I like dance type workout videos I find on Hulu. I did a Brazilian one the other day - all the twisting killed my core and I was sore the next day. I also walk/jog around the…
