  • Thank you, @znaoiec! I had lots of nature the last few days and will try and post a picture. In the meantime, I am home for a couple of days, and I will do my best to log! However, off to Paris on Friday and then on to London, to finally see my kids, yippee! Logging will go out of the window again then, but I am back on…
  • Now in the Netherlands at my Mum's, after a few days at a friend's on one of the Dutch islands. I got plenty of exercise: walking, cycling, even a swim in the sea, but it's almost impossible to log my food. I am just being careful, but Dutch food does consist of lots of carbohydrates...

  • 16th August 3 x Yes. I've been ill but managed all three for the first time in ages. Now I am off to the Netherlands for a little holiday, as well as seeing my Mum.

  • 30th July Calories: Over by 19! Exercise: Minimal 20 minutes walking Tracking: Yes!
  • The music festival finished yesterday. I've really enjoyed going to various venues for often 2 or 3 concerts a day. I got my exercise in, walking from one place to another, I mostly stayed below calories, I think, but I didn't log. Started tracking again today and signed up for UAC's August Challenge. I can warm up for two…
  • I am struggling somewhat, but also enjoying music. My partner seems to be exceptionally needy, as it's holidays and some of his usual activities are not happening. Also it's hot, which doesn't bother me much, I tend to adapt pretty well, actually quite like the heat, but he gets really upset because he's not an early riser…
  • T-shirts 2XL, dress size (UK) 22 How big is this? My Daughter-in_Law from Texas was seriously obese, but has been working on this. At my fattest, I need size 16 UK ...
  • 14th July 3 x Yes
  • Still here! See post 13th July. Officially old now, I think ...
  • 13th July Got distracted by various problems. However, 13th July was my 70th birthday. I had lots of nice messages, cards, even presents, still replying to those. Had lovely birthday picnic in a park with friends. Tried to take my partner out for my birthday meal last night, but he was sick all over proceedings and I had…
  • 10th July 3 x Yes Loved all the 'hobby' answers! Gave me an incredible insight into what people do in their daily lives, apart from counting and recording calories. I find that doing things I like / love is so important for my mental health. There were so many things I couldn't do during lockdown, and I feel so much better…
  • 9th July Posted bits about food and my Mum, but forgot to post my 3 × Yes.
  • @Jana_2020 My Mum, almost 99, still tells stories about cycling to farmers on bikes with wooden bike wheels, for a bit of food. I have never been able to forget these tales and to this day cannot throw away or waste food... On the positive side, I'm the queen of leftovers and distressed vegetables!
  • @Jana_2020 Please remind us roundabout Christmas time! I know the asparagus thingie, but the holiday balls is new to me, sounds great! I am also a cheese lover!
  • @Jana_2020 I know exactly what you mean. My Mum lived in Amsterdam during the Hunger Winter of '44, survived on tulip bulbs and weighed 40 kg at the end of the war. I was born in 1951 but was never able to waste even a few potato crumbs .. @biketheworld I am hugely proud of my son! The other one is a computer programmer…
  • My goodness, I don't know where to start with hobbies ... I am semi-retired, so I should have time, but I also look after a partner with Alzheimer's. He doesn't live with me any more, but he comes round every day and I do all his finances and administration for him. Part of my income comes from a couple of flats in UK I…
  • 9th July 3 x Yes. Exercise: walked for almost an hour, 10 minutes with a heavy sun lounger under my arm. Calories: Yes, under. Finished the frozen spinach, in a lentil and spinach curry, still picking the green bits out from between my teeth. Big toothbrushing session next! Tracking: Yes, logged everything.
  • I live in a foodie country, France, but the French don't celebrate with particularly calorific food, nor do they eat giant portions. I do go to nice French restaurants regularly though and next week, for my birthday, I'll go to the restaurant round the corner for lunch, fabulous food. I'll have the fish or vegetable…
  • 8th July All was going well until I joined friends for drinks early evening, and the planned single G&T became two, not slimline tonic either. Then when I got home I had a yen for toast and pate ... Didn't log those either, couldn't be bothered to make, eat or change the very sensible omelette I had planned. Exercise was…
  • I speak less kindly to myself! "For *kitten* sake, do you want to lose those 15 kilos or not? Do you want to struggle on with a wonky leg and too much weight on it? No? So, stop whingeing and get on with it!" I included a profanity intentionally, because I want to see if I get a "kitten"! Yeah, got a "kitten"!
  • Well done @seilidhe!
  • First week of July was a disaster calorie-wise, but I had a great time seeing my Mum, my sister and two best friends in The Netherlands. My Mum is 98 years old and said, with tears in her eyes, that she had thought she would never see me again. Food was dreadful though: lots of bread and cheese, nuts and nibbles, cake and…
  • @SModa61 Dear Sherri, sending you good vibes! Keep at it, you're doing great.
  • 7th July 3 x .Yes. Missing @Dory_42 ....
  • 6th July Signing off early. I've eaten everything I had pre-planned, I feel full, so no need to stuff anything else down. I might go to the cinema, an arty independent one, no popcorn or anything like that. You're lucky if you can get a coffee out of the machine ... Calories: Yes, under. Exercise: An hour's Yoga class this…
