  • Hi, you can eat whenever you want, just as long as you are within your calorie goals in the 24 hour period. I try not to eat right before bed, UNLESS I ABSOLUTELY have to, but that is not because of weight gain or weight loss. I worry about digestion if I eat a big meal before bed.
  • I did the Arc Trainer for an hour today at a moderate pace and resistance. It was not an easy task but I feel good now an hour later. I burned a lot of calories too. I would not have been able to do that for an hour back in December. I maybe would have been able to do it for 15 minutes at an easy pace. But pretty much I…
  • Do you have a job? I don't see how there isn't enough time to exercise while in college, unless you have a job on top of that too. I work almost full time and school full time, so I understand how hard it is to get exercise in. I still get my exercise in, but i don't go at the same time. I go whenever my schedule allows…
  • It depends. Everyone is different. I eat some of mine back. I do not get my calories burned from MFP, which can be exaggerated. Still I don't eat all of them back! I eat maybe 200-300 of a 700 calorie burn back. Usually these calories are at night time and are in the form of a snack of my choice Today I had carrot sticks…
  • I think that can work. Just as long as you still feel like you are making progress ( the scale is going down, losing inches, clothes feeling looser or better, etc ) Some days are just really hard. ( can't fit in a work out, having to go out to eat ) I eat more on some days and less on other days. It all evens out at the…
  • I do think a consistent carb diet could work really well for some, which I guess could be considered a "low carb" diet. I don't like the word "low carb" because the body needs a certain amount of carbohydrate to function for the brain and red blood cells. And I know the keto diet, but that is for extreme cases and should…
  • With my schedule, it is unrealistic for me to go to the gym 7 days a week. I go 5-6 days a week though. I take 1-2 "rest" days per week and I almost always feel guilty about it. I keep my calories slightly lower than normal on those days, but nothing crazy. One day I took two rest days in a row and my scale finally budged…
  • It is ultimately up to you. If you feel good today, then I wouldn't worry about it. There probably will be a time in the future where you will eat those calories back at a gathering or if you want a few drinks or something. Although if you do need the 3500 calories to maintain your weight, ( or in your case, you are…
  • It's just fluff for the most part. What I do is I try to see the average for the week and I figure that is what I will probably be in 5 weeks. My highest was 117 lbs and my lowest was 110 lbs ( for "what you will weigh in 5 weeks ). I figure I will be somewhere in between that, because everyday is different ( as it should…
  • I am 25 and will add you if that is okay. I've been on here almost two months. Anyone else feel free to add me.
  • I think I will lose 10-15 more lbs, but probably closer to the 10 lb marker. I want to be 110 lbs. I want to keep myself active during cardio right now to lose weight and keep myself up 4-ish times a week when I maintain to have an active lifestyle. And maybe start strength training a couple times a week by then.
  • I usually add in a snack a few hours after dinner but that is JUST me. I like my dinner to settle before eating something else. Today I was in that situation and added a frozen yogurt ice cream bar thingy ( 80 kcal ) and blueberries. It brought me to 1360-ish, which is still less than I wanted to be today. ( I wanted to be…
  • I think peanut butter is healthier in the sense that it has protein and some vitamins in it. Niacin is a vitamin that comes to mind. I am not saying Nutella is bad, but it seems to me that peanut butter is more nutrient dense. Nutella is very very good ( although I haven't had it in YEARS ) but I don't think it is very…
  • Congrats! :) You lost a lot in your waist. I can see a difference!
  • I would say portion control and keep on moving. Even if you can't make it to the gym, try to find ways to be active. Like maybe make trips around the office or work fast at work ( walk fast, move fast if you work in retail ). Take the steps instead of the escalator. Park further away. Take walks.
  • You didn't gain 6 lbs of fat in a week. Perhaps 1 pound of fat and 5 pounds of water. Now that is feasible. I have been in recovery for anorexia in 2006. Similar situation as you; my parents were forcing inpatient on me if I didn't go. I gained about the same as you in the first week. It really freaked me out, but as I got…
  • First of all, I am glad you are recovering from an eating disorder. I suffered from anorexia and bulimia off and on for five years. My 2009/2010 relapse was anorexia and since then, I've been doing really well. It does take a really long time to fully recover from an eating disorder. And you need to do things slowwwwly.…
  • Looking good! Keep up the good work!
  • I know. Before I lost weight I was about 136 lbs and would range from a size 4 to an 8 ( major vanity sizing ). I am just under 5'4". Right now I am about 122 lbs and probably a 2-4 in women's and a 3-5 in juniors/teens. Some stores run ridiculously small as if they are made for young teenagers. Or other stores everything…
  • I have 12-13 more to lose as of today. Hoping to reach it by May. Anyone is free to add me :)
  • Those measurements sound good! It seems that your boyfriend is abusive. 145 lbs on 5'7" is a good size -- not large at all. the most important thing for you is... how do YOU feel about yourself? It shouldn't matter what he thinks. I know its easier said than done, but how do you feel about how you look? If you feel like…
  • Also craving chocolate as well... I bought quite a few chocolate ( yet healthier ) items today at the store.
  • I am currently very bloated right now but I do not expect my period until the end of the month ( Feb 24th-25th ). I usually get bloat shortly after ovulation ( a few days ) and it lasts till my period starts.
  • If you do not know your meal for one day, it isn't a big deal. But I know how nerve wracking it can be when you are trying to lose weight. If you really need to know, maybe you can individually plug in each item you had and guestimate the serving size? I did that last time I was in your situation, which was a few weeks ago.
  • I will join the club. I LOVE eating :(
  • I eat a few more hundred calories than normal ( Maybe like 1600 calories. ) If I don't do that I might just have a cheat meal like go to fast food or to Chipotle or something. If I do that, I will usually still be within my calorie means, but I had something yummy that I have not had in a while. I don't have cheat days too…
  • I eat some of them, especially when I have an intense workout that burns 700 or more calories. ( In a 90 minute period ) Usually the more I exercise I add a couple hundred more calories to my day. I try to eat 1400-1600 on more active days. I found that burning 700-1000 calories per day and eating 1200-1300 was a little…
  • Yeah, sometimes its hard when you have a stressful week. I am wondering how I will do my work outs next week because my supervisor decided to switch my evenings to days. ( Of course on days I do not have class ). I was getting used to evenings and planning my work outs and eating around it. So we will see... I'm sorry for…
  • ... Or both. It's really not that hard to get to 1200 calories unless you physically have trouble eating ( like wisdom teeth removal or a vomiting sickness ). One time this past summer I had a hard time eating because I got sick, but that only literally lasted 3 days.
