  • Not really what you were asking for, but my hubby makes a GREAT meal with our leftover roasts. Sautee some veggies (mushrooms, green peppers etc.) Add leftover meat and gravy Add 1-2 tbsp's of sour cream Bring to boil and let simmer a bit Cook some egg noodles Mix noodles and mixture together and voila! I think it's called…
  • Congrats on being healthy for a year! wOO hOO! I've been struggling lately with a plateau and your post reminded me that I have no where to go but down and if it takes a year +, it takes a year + It's no big deal!

  • Congrats on your little baby boy!!! I'm a "newish" mom...I have two girls almost 2 and almost 4! I commend you for getting here ASAP, I waited until my "baby" was 18 months!!! I'll add you as a friend! I have a lot of new mom's in my network :)
  • That sounds like a blast!!! I wish we had something like that around here (Toronto Canada area)
  • Nope! Were you expecting to lose a lb in 72 hours?
  • Great post!!! I agree with everything said :)
  • When you eat meals, are you choosing "low fat" or "low calorie" options? Lucky you if you are, because the easiest way to get more calories in is to just eat the "regular version" of the foods you're eating! Have that full fat salad dressing you lucky girl!
  • I'm curious too! I've considered it so many times...
  • *hUgS* Losing a pet is so tough - but unavoidable. Process your feelings and build yourself up for the girls because they're going to be the same - and it won't be pretty. Some people call me cold hearted when I tell them I'm at peace with losing animals...has happened so many times in my life that it takes me maybe 5…
  • SMART guy! Hit 'em where it hurts ;) I also have to echo the "ignore" comment. My hubby was so used to getting "laughs" (why do his parents FAKE laugh? why do other girls fake laugh? hello! Enabling!) out of his "jokes" (only child remember?) and when I stopped responding, he really took it to heart and finally shut up LOL.
  • Vent away!!! Is your husband an only child by any chance? My hubby is a "PITA" as well, thinks he's sooooooo funny. He's an only child and I find it explains a LOT ;)
  • A sperm whales brain! Cute :)
  • I love looking at fat from this kind of perspective :) My mini goals are to a) lose a Mackenna (my 2 year old's weight lol) b) lose a Samantha (my 4 year olds weight) and finally to lose two kids (both combined) :D When I pick up one of the girls, I can't believe I used to (almost) carry THAT MUCH fat around!!!
  • When I had my Gazelle, I would record a 1 hour TV show that I LOVED just to watch while I worked out. Something like Survivor, where there is a reason to watch to the very end of that particular episode. Sigh, I miss my Gazelle, my ability to record TV shows AND the time I had before kids to accomplish this
  • Keep going!!! You'll build up strenght and endurance just by "practicing" :) Don't know if this was your first child or not, but I've learned that lesson (practice makes perfect) through all my kids TV shows lol. Such a simple concept that I wasn't taught growing up I'm afraid. Edited to say: DUH, just saw you also have a…
  • When I was in my early 20's someone told me I was "just like my Aunt"...my Aunt is 350+ lbs, has diabetes, high blood pressure and is infertile. I think I signed up for WW the NEXT DAY. This time it was pure laziness that put the pounds on and kept them on (post pregnancies that is, I don't "count" the weight gained during…
  • Amazing thread - I JUST got my first pair of Astigmatism contacts and I did NOT like them! I wore contacts for YEARS in my 20's and they were fine! This astigmatism is a new thing for me. My doctor did order me another pair to try - one eye was "off" it's measurement. I've been afraid to try them now!
  • This is one of the BEST NVS's I've ever read :) That's an amazing thing you've done for your body :)
  • Thank YOU for all the support you provide :) I'm sure we'll meet one day - I drive from Toronto to Montreal often enough! :)
  • 1. How many people do you know that are raising a child(ren) alone? Are they male or female? Too many to count :( I'd say 80% of them are female 2. Were you raised by a traditional parenting system or non-traditional? (Mom and dad, 2 dads, 2 moms, adopted, aunts, uncles, foster homes, institution, etc.) I was raised by a…
  • I didn't know what to do with myself all afternoon at work!!!
  • Our bodies naturally want to rest in the early afternoon :) You should see the coffee room around here!

  • I really had to learn how to deal with my emotions themselves in order to deal with emotional eating. Luckily, I have a good plan at work, so therapy wasn't too $$$
  • Love the Blog Miranda! Just read through some of it :) Love the pics of everything you eat - what a cool idea! I'm going to make a trip to the bulk barn tonight I think!
  • Not a morning person. That said, I have begun stretching in my backyard while the dog does her morning business! I can't believe how much better I feel all day long after doing this!
  • The first thing I thought of was a really hearty healthy salad :) That's what I usually have when I eat out - it's so much easier when someone else does all the salad prep!
  • I take the class and I LOVE it!! My BFF downloaded all the songs for me and I put them on when I clean the house - I'm dancing while cleaning! If you have ever loved to go out dancing, then you will LOVE Zumba. I'm not a "dvd" person though, I need the extra motivation from the instructor and I like dancing with a bunch of…
  • Wow Thanks Miranda!!! Great article :) I'm going to have to go to the Bulk Barn...I bet they have quinoa too! Just curious, do you make the gel or do you just drop some into your oatmeal?
  • I suggest going with what YOU feel comfortable with. It sounds like 150 might be a bit too high for you and you want to get into a healthy BMI range. How about 135-140? I previously lost weight in my early 20's and had no problem getting to my goal of 130. Now, I've been through two kids and I don't have the time and…
  • They DO look funny, but I always look funny (and don't care what people think lol). I'm interested in them because I walk a LOT on a daily basis. I commute to work on public transit :) I'm thinking they might give me an extra somethin' somethin'! Curious to hear from those who have tried them.
