  • Doesn't it feel WONDERFUL?! Congratulations!!! :)
  • Have you had your feet measured? It sounds like your left shoe is too large for your left foot. I have the same problem in that my feet are off by half a size, with my right (US 8.5) smaller than my left (US 9). Most decent stores are good about switching up the sizes because they want your business, and they can always…
  • That is fantabulous, and I hope you are as proud of you as we are!!!!!!!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Nice to meet you Kerry! My name is Catherine, and you've found a great place to be! We will share your good, bad, and even ugly, and you'll have amazing support and motivation. Feel free to add me if you'd like. Good luck and good health! :flowerforyou:

  • I measure every other week. I have found that I like the buildup followed by the high of seeing the changes, and that way if I've had a bad week, and I have to talk myself into weighing in, I know that there's still a prize to be had! Good luck and good health!
  • My favorite lunch is a taco salad without the tortilla chips! I have 4 ounces of ground beef, a heaping cup (or more) of lettuce, a whole roma tomato, one ounce of extra sharp cheddar cheese, and salsa for my dressing. If I'm feeling particularly adventurous, I might add a touch of sour cream. You definitely want to…
  • You picked the right place to be! MFP is a fantastic site for motivation and support!! I weigh myself daily, too, I must admit, but I only write down the WEEKLY number, and that is what I post here. However, make sure that you measure yourself, too - I am down just 16 pounds, but I'm down almost 6 inches in my waist!!!…
  • I did the same thing, and then realized that thinking "HUGE amount to lose" was just a way to defeat myself before I truly began. I broke it down. I'm going for 10% of my weight right now, and I'm halfway there in 6 weeks' time. After that, I'd like to stick to 15-20 pound portions until I reach my goal - 145 pounds lost -…
  • If your gym has a pool, I would suggest water jogging. It works all of your muscles and burns tons of calories. I do it twice a week and absolutely LOVE it!
  • Great to see you have joined up with one amazing group! Welcome, have fun, don't forget that we'll listen even when you're grumpy at life or mad at your own choices, and we'll tackle the obstacles with you, one by one! Feel free to add me if you'd like. :) Good luck and good health!!
  • Your net calories are the calories that you have NOT used by exercising. If you eat 1000 calories and do 200 calories' worth of exercise, your body is considered to have eaten only 800 calories. Whether or not you choose to eat back your exercise calories, however, is up to you. Good luck and good health! :)
  • Fantabulous!!! Enjoy your success - you EARNED it! :)

  • I've been the blood coordinator at my office for 10 years, and no, there is no reason to not donate while you are dieting, unless you have underlying anemia problems. If you are on a prescription iron supplements for anemia, please let your intake nurse know, as the type of supplement could disqualify you from donating.…
  • It may not flush out all of the sodium, but yes, it will help. Remember, though, that what the scale says isn't the end-all, be-all of your health. If you're up or down a pound, that isn't as important as how you FEEL! I have also found that once I broke down and did the dreaded measuring of various body parts (arms, bust,…
  • I was in the same position, and it turns out that my hemoglobin is low, which is the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to your body. While it's only a little low, it caused me to get exhausted quickly, as well, and you could be in a similar spot. Have you had bloodwork done recently? Lighten up on the…
  • Well, welcome back to the wagon! You're in the right place for great support and lots of helpful info. Good luck, and remember that you can turn to us anytime you need support OR a hard, swift kick in the derriere. :flowerforyou:
  • That is hysterical, and kudos on the pickup line!! Even if it is incredibly awful, he tried... lol :)

  • Fantabulous!!! Doesn't that just make you feel like you can take on the WORLD??? :)
  • I try very hard to nail my kcal count each day (I'm at 1400), and I consciously do not eat my exercise calories. I'm starting my third week of active MFP, and after talking with my doc, she said that the choice is mine, and if I want to occasionally eat them, that's fine, and use them to enjoy a treat, but the more I stay…
  • Okay, you had a bad day. We're human, it happens. Don't beat yourself up over it, just look forward and know that you can do better. You know what you should and shouldn't do, and you turned here, knowing you'd get the support you need. We're here when you need a shoulder, and you'll get back with it tomorrow feeling…
  • Way to go you!!!! You worked hard, and look at how far you've come! You are an inspiration to us all! :)
  • I find that a protein/carb mix holds me very well! I will have a string cheese or cheese stick and some fruit (either cherries, grapes, or watermelon), and I'm good to go. Good luck and let us all know what you find that works for you. :)
  • I adore Simon's Cat!!!!!! I am also aware that if my feline had opposable thumbs, he'd totally do that to hubby and me. He's ALLLLLLLLL about his food, and thanks to my daughter - who moved out and got her own place (yayyyyyyyyy!) - he also wants his butt scratched while he eats, and will knock over any- and everything…
  • Oh honey, if you're starving, you'll binge when you stop. I don't know what meal plan you are using, but the one I'm on is high in protein - both meats and dairy-based, and very high in fresh or frozen vegetables. It's also very low in sodium, and I'm not hungry - ever! If you'd like, friend me and I'll be glad to share…
  • I'm supposed to be on 1400 calories a day, but by eating only *real* food, no processed stuff or the"low-fat" or "lite" stuff, I have issues even getting to 1200. I'm always full! As a 300+ pound woman, that has *never* been an issue before, that's for sure! :) I weighed in today after my first week on the plan my doctor…
  • I completely understand where you're at mentally. I'm walking the MFP path for about the fourth (I think) time. Like you, I get frustrated and give up, and like you, this time I'm opening myself up in the boards to find folks who are walking this same path, and I'm looking for all the support I can hey. Don't ever think…
