  • I just eat low carb and never jumped on the high fat par. It works fine for me. By low carb I shoot for sub 30g of carbs per day.
  • OK totally inappropriate update. Just did some bedroom aerobics and got down to 218.2. Must have been realllllyy stopped up.
  • Missed my goal again but I really can't get too upset. 218.6 is a lot better than the 230 I shot up to. Down 53.4 since 11/9. I will have to chip away at the overage to get back on track with my goals. I went clothes shopping yesterday and feel really good about how things fit and look. My face has really started to lean…
  • I didn't even bother checking in on Monday because I derailed so hard. I was north of 230 early in the week. I am however back on the diet hard and pushing to leapfrog over my missed goal of 220.6 to the next goal of 217. On another note I am starting to see loose skin areas from the rapid loss. I am hoping that it will…
  • LOFL well Saturday night I had the bright idea to get a huge bowl of Pho. Two sodium rich cheat meals in as many days. Woke up this morning super bloated. My normally very vascular hands were puffy with bloat and I was sitting at 228.6. Off to the gym I went for some time on the treadmill and a ton of water. Slowly but…
  • sooo.... I decided that instead of trying to lose more than what my weekly goal is I would just have an epic cheat day. And epic cheat day I had. Entire Chinese entree (pretty sure it wasn't meant for one person) so now I am dealing with all of the sodium/MSG bloat. No regrets and zero *kitten* given. I will hit my Monday…
  • I ended up hitting the gym for a little bit on Monday and got a bit longer today. I really don't have it in me to run or even jog so I just walk at a decent clip and on an incline. I also did some ab work which felt great. When I got back home I weighed myself in at 227.8 and as I sat around doing some work on my computer…
  • Good for you homie.
  • Back in my size 34 jeans.
  • Gak! So the morning of my dinner party I was within a half pound of my Monday goal and feeling good. I did eat way more than usual but I was unable to shake the gains so I spent all this morning trying to piss out the last few fractions of a pound so I could hit my goal. Something I forgot to take into account when making…

  • Back on the wagon after putting some weight back on. I thought I did well the first time but when I reference my old weight logs I am doing better this go round.
  • I know of one marriage and the resulting kid and one on the way. I get PM's all the time from ladies on this site. A lot of them are married and I end up listening to how much they hate their husbands. For some reason it is in my nature to attempt to fix them and re instill some of their confidence. Of course this just…
  • haha I am just in time for this. I bought a gallon of water the other day and have been working hard to finish the entire gallon per day. Its 11:37PM and I have one glass left in the jug. I recently read an article where someone described something they called the whoosh. Its the phenomena where you are definitely in a…
  • After my initial loss where I ended up at a weight I was content with I would hop on the scale once a week and adjust my diet as needed. It's only when I no longer cared that I put more weight on. When my mind was it it I would bounce from 215-230 and back down. Most of the time I she all of that weight in a weeks time by…
  • Thanks bro. I know all of these posts are a bit all over the place but I like adding all the crap that is floating in my mind because it helps me understand where my mind was at that particular time.
  • Hit my goal weight of 231 this morning. That puts me down 5.8 for the week and 41 since 11/9. I am definitely on the mental upswing now. I am hosting a large dinner party on Saturday and serving a ton of food, I am incorporating a cheat day into my weeks so that will be my first one. I am going to shoot to lose over my…
  • Same boat. Working my way back down now. I have my original spreadsheet with weekly weights, measurements and some notes that I have been using to tweak my diet to be a little more effective. I did 70 pounds in 5 months and am already far ahead of that clip because of the changes I made. Basically I found it to be easier…
  • LOL. In the beginning its super important to count calories because you need be able to judge calories in the foods you eat. On the other hand people who weigh their food for the entire duration of the diet are setting themselves up for failure when they hit their goal weight. BRB bringing a scale to the restaurant for the…
  • Anything that comes out of my mothers mouth. She is on that Dr. Oz magic beans time and is quick to make a comment if I put a few pounds on. Or when someone tells you how a certain diet is the only way to go because it works for them. My diet is so ridiculously unhealthy I would never recommend or even spell it out for…
  • Haha! Its so true man. I find it to be important to have a spreadsheet with a graph showing your weight loss with a weekly weigh in. Even the small losses add up and the graph trends downwards. People on the biggest loser not only have the best of best trainers and equipment they also are devoid of outside influences like…
  • You sir are a special kind of troll! You have legit pissed off the collective MFP forums LOL. Good show OP, as a father I know what it is like when your kids level you with some truth bombs. I highly suggest you pick another source of motivation as you embark on this weight loss journey because drawing from that comment…
  • So I decided to add another column to my spreadsheet yet again. My birthday is in the last week of March and my old drivers license pic is of me at 295 and I look ridiculous. The final weigh in before my birthday is 3/21 and my goal is 199.5. To be honest I would be happy with 210 but I am going to push myself.
  • This is why you need to pay attention to the measuring tape too. As you lift and exercise with a proper diet you end up with a fair amount of glycogen in your muscles. One gram of glycogen is bound with water by a factor of 4-5. So if you want to see what you are really dealing with then take a week off the gym, cut out…
  • 80k posts holy feck girl
  • Low carb checking in. I try and stay under 25g of carbs per day and do a good job of it. I enjoy finding new and creative ways to avoid carbs. Eggs and toast? naaa eggs and bacon. cheeseburger on a bun? naa double cheeseburger hold the bun.
  • Interesting question. I bet anywhere you look will tell you to address the illness and the weight loss will follow and that's obviously where your frustration comes from. Maybe Google has what you are looking for.…
  • Do you get 8 hours of sleep? Are you drinking a ridic amount of water? You also need to adjust your calories as you lose if you have not already. Don't forget to track measurements because the scale will not show any recomp that may be happening.
