I did when I first quit soda. That was in 2004, and let me tell you I got headaches as well as stomach aches too. It eventually passed. But yes, it does happen. replace it with something else. My regular drink now is green tea.

Nope. Who says what's unrealistic? Just because I think it may be unrealistic doesn't mean it is unrealistic to others. I have to focus on my own goals based on my own abilities and willpower, threshhold.

But does it even matter at all?

Today I brought green beans, brown rice, curried chickpeas, and fruit. Some days I bring salad and crackers. I tend to prefer bringing leftover dinner. Occasionally I bring a PBJ on whole wheat, and fresh fruit.

Mine is peanut butter. I really go in, full-time. I eat it on toast or crackers, I dip my fruit and veggies in it, I put a spoon or two in my smoothies, and I'll even put a few spoons of it in a bowl and eat it plain.

I think his health issues compound his inability to seek and find work. If he refuses to comply with his psychiatrist's treatment, I recommend you go to the courts and see if you can have him committed to an inpatient program, perhaps to a state mental health facility. It's a hard decision, but I think in the long run that…

Yes, I sure do. If I know I have a big dinner tonight at home or going out to a restaurant with bad options, I'll have very light meals during the day, mostly fruit and salad, saving up my calories.

My high school weight was 170. I am currently at 174, after having brought it down about 20 pounds over the last year. At one point I was more than 50 pounds over that. Now, I'm just 4 pounds above my high school weight. That's my weight goal, 170.

I use Walking, 3.0 mph for a brisk walk. There is one for Walking 3.5 mph, and more options at a faster past. You may want to invest in a cheap pedometer. They really are not expensive. Go to Walmart or Target. That will help you to be more accurate when you enter your cardio.

Also, it's been my experience that friends and family can really be quite messy. Don't let them be the source to your feeling that way. Say thank you to those people and do as you please. You'll be much happier.

I never mind that. It's a time for personal solitude. I even have gone to see movies by myself too. I don't mind at all.

Great question. It's a catch 22. It's hard to lose weight, because lifting converts the fats to muscle. So we dont lose. It just gets re positioned. One important reason why we should lift is this: Lifting weights is the cornerstone for building muscle and strengthening bones. As we age, we lose a percentage of muscle mass…
