I rely on inches much more than weight. Even though I weigh myself daily I don't trip if the numbers fluctuate because these days my clothes are fitting much more loosely (today I'm wearing a pair of pants that sat in the closet for the last 2 years because they were too tight, and they're actually baggy in the waist) and…

Since I pretty much eat the same things for breakfast and lunch I fill those out first thing in the morning, that way I know how much wiggle room I have for dinner and any snacks during the day. It really helps me to stay on track because I'm not mindlessly grazing, I have to think whether it is worth is to grab a few M&Ms…

Easter dinner put me over my daily limit by 880 calories but it's not like I have a holiday feast every day, so it's all good. Tomorrow it's back to my 4 mile walk and calorie counting.

I pretty much have the same things for breakfast and lunch so I log those in first thing in the morning, that way I'll know how many calories I have to play around with for dinner. For instance, yesterday morning after I logged in my breakfast and lunch I had just over 700 net calories left over. I was feeling like some…

I weigh myself every day but only record it once a week (Saturday). Our weight can fluctuate during the week so if the number is a little higher than the day before don't freak out. If your clothes are fitting more loosely and you are losing inches that means you're on the right track, even if the scale says differently…

I'm 4'11" and shooting for 145 (for now). Once I hit that goal I will likely bump it back to 135, but that will be it. My "ideal" BMI would put me at around 100 pounds but even back when I was at a decent weight if I went under 130 I started looking like a skeleton with boobs.

I bought these a few days ago (Philips SHE6000/28 In-Ear Headphones Surround Sound) http://www.amazon.com/Philips-SHE6000-28-Headphones-Surround/dp/B003BT6BL4/ref=sr_1_72?s=aht&ie=UTF8&qid=1303405406&sr=1-72 The sound quality is pretty good but more importantly it comes with 4 sets of rubber caps in different sizes from…

I'm going on a weeklong conference next month, so that will be my first real test since I joined MFP. The hotel has a pretty good fitness center so I'm not worried about getting my workouts in but I'll have to be really vigilant about what I eat, especially considering all the temptations between the hot breakfasts, am/pm…

I started by walking the entire length of my apartment complex one-way, which was about a mile (at 20 minutes). A year later I can walk the entire length and back twice (4 miles at 90 minutes), but most days I can only get in 3 miles because of time constraints. I agree with the others to start slow and work your way up to…

I do her workouts when I can't go walking outside because of the weather. I recommend them because the exercises are much more rounded than a standard walk, you get to work on your hamstrings, upper body, and even the abs for a bit. I started out doing her 3 mile workout which totally kicked my butt in the beginning, but…

Other than a few minor tweaks here and there (switching from bread to fat free tortilla for sandwiches) my overall eating habits haven't changed much. I tend to eat healthy in general but if i want the burger and fries I'll go for it as long as it fits in my daily calorie limit. In addition I usually give myself Sunday to…

M-F: Whole grain cereal (usually Cheerios or Total) with yogurt and berries, toasted English muffin with butter Sat: Oatmeal/Cream of Wheat with berries and a tbsp. of maple syrup Sun: I'll splurge and have 2 slices bacon, 3-egg omelet with grape tomatoes or avocado on the side, whole grain toast with butter

Co-sign. I know it's a cliche but this really is a lifestyle change. The reason why I've had success with MFP is it's all about making smarter choices with my food. I eat healthy in general but don't have to deny myself a plate of buffalo wings or the occasional slice of chocolate cake, as long as I find a way to make it…

Congrats on the weight loss. Don't worry, people will be sure to notice in time. Yep. Since starting MFP last month my pants fit much more loose around my waist and no more deep inhaling when I have to button them. And if I didn't know any better I would swear that my cleavage has slightly shrunk (as someone who is top…

Large salad with green leaf lettuce, parsley, grape tomatoes, deli turkey breast, scallions, and Shop Rite Lite Caesar Dressing. Can of Progresso Spicy Sausage & Chicken Gumbo 12 oz. glass of orange juice Total of 627 calories, which may seem like a lot but on weekdays lunch is the big meal of the day for me.

That's exactly how I feel. Sundays I eat anything I want, calories be damned. I don't do anything crazy like eat a whole quart of Haagen Dazs and chase it with a box of Oreos, but I will have the bacon/egg/homefries brunch and dinner is whatever i'm in the mood for, which can be anything from steamed fish and veggies to a…

I work out on a empty stomach but that's only because when I'm done I immediately have to get ready for work. I don't get to have breakfast until I'm at the office a few hours later. For me I don't think it would make a difference either way in terms of losing weight.

My playlist is typically old school funk, disco, and hip-hop with a few new songs thrown in. Here's today's workout.: Return of the Mack - Mark Morrison Hot Shot - Karen Young Ladies First - Queen Latifah Party Train - Gap Band Tightrope - Janelle Monae 5 Minutes of Funk - Whodini We Got the Magic - Robin Thicke Keep On -…

I take weekends off. I need that time to physically and mentally recharge my batteries. I think that has been key for me to stick with a workout routine for just over a year now. Before I would work out every day for a few months, which just resulted in me getting burned out and ditching the routine.

I haven't found it difficult at all. Like some of the others said, I don't look at this as a diet but changing the way I eat. I am a serious foodie, so I'll never get on board with something that focuses on what I can't have. I'm using the calorie counter as a tool to be smarter about how much I eat. For instance, before…

I get up at 5 and am out the door for my 60 minute walk by 5:25. I work long hours so this is the only time I can get my workout in. Getting up so early is tough at first but if you stick with it your body will get used to it.

My favorites are: Ken's Steakhouse Fat Free Dressing - Raspberry Pecan (50 cal/ 2 Tbsp) Ken's Steakhouse Light Options - Olive Oil and Vinegar (50 cal/ 2 Tbsp) If there's a Shop Rite in your area their Light Caesar Dressing is pretty good too (80 cal/ 2 Tbsp)

Sunday is my designated cheat day. I don't go crazy eating a whole pint of ice cream or any thing like that but I will treat myself a bacon/egg or pancake brunch, and a dinner of whatever I'm in the mood for. I find that is a good incentive for me to stay on track for the rest of the week, because I have that day to look…

I'm definitely an early exerciser. Walking around my neighborhood is my workout and that's the only time it's quiet enough that I don't have to worry about dodging people, dogs, and cars. Since I started my routine a year ago I had been getting up at 5:15 a.m., and was usually out the door 20-25 minutes later. It was hard…

During the week it's not much of a problem because I only have about 2 hours downtime between dinner and bedtime, so I have to keep it light or I'll be up all night with indigestion. The weekend is a different story though with me grazing an hour or two after dinner. I'm early in the MFP journey so I'm still trying to fine…

I went to the gym regularly, but when I switched to a compressed work schedule (10 hours x 4 days a week) a few years ago I had to give it up because I no longer had time to go. Weekday mornings for the past year I've been walking a full rotation around my apartment complex (about 2.25 miles), and when the weather is bad I…
