I was told that, too. I never bought a HRM. I just ate about half my exercise calories back. That worked out ok for me.

I exercise more now than I did when I started losing weight. I intend to keep my level of activity up so I can improve my running, and also get more toned. There is always something to work on. :)

Yes. I lost my first 19 pounds just by walking and logging food. I lost the remaining weight when I added in running, and later circuit training.

This is what I did.

i stopped having dessert every night after dinner.

I started at 192, and I currently weigh 147, which is a little under my goal weight. I am 5'9", and this puts me at a size 6 in most brands, which was my real goal. I am now focusing on toning. I do not have a size 2 body. I birthed two children, and I have hips and a chest.

I have a spibelt. I don't find that the cord gets in the way, but you can get ear buds with a retractable cord. eta: also, i wouldn't spend the extra money for a water resistant one. i just put my iphone in a ziploc bag before putting it in my spibelt. and that works great.

I don't belong to a gym. I set out to lose weight after my second child was born. I started out with walking and logging food when I went back to work after maternity leave. Then last May I started running, and in January 2012, I added some exercise DVDs to the mix (I am partial to Jillian Michaels).

My breakfast is usually about 200 calories, and then my lunch and dinner are 400-500 calories. I also eat snacks in the morning and afternoon. The calorie count of my snacks depend on whether I worked out that morning. I also work a desk job, 9-5. I usually work out in the morning, before work. I find that whether I work…

Mine is open to friends. I have no problem with sharing mine. Also, I really like seeing my friends' diaries, so I can get new ideas for meals / snacks.

Moving Comfort has some good ones. I can't remember what style I have but it is fabulous. No movement at all during runs.

I work from home three days per week. On the days I go into the office, I wake up at 4:20 to work out. On the days I work from home, I get up around 5:15 a.m. I would never get it done if I didn't do it first thing in the morning. I started waking up at 4:20 when I started running a year ago. At that time, I worked in the…

This is the minimum amount I strive to consume. Based on my weight I should be getting in about 10 glasses per day (75 ozs rounded up), but while I was actively losing weight, I tried to drink a minimum of 15 glasses, preferably more. Now that I'm maintaining, I still try to drink 15-20 glasses a day. That includes a small…

i finished C25K last June. I did my first 5K on Thanksgiving, and I am doing another next month. I hadn't consistently run since the eighth grade, when I was in track, and now I usually run 3 days per week, 3-4 miles. I hope to do a 10K within the next year.

i think about a variety of things: work issues; issues we are facing with our daughters; repairs to the house; how i'd like to tell off someone who was rude to me the day before (I can't really tell people off at work, so i tell them off in my head). I listen to music too, and I try not to think about running because…

Did you exercise much before, or was this the get moving program? It was my way of getting back in shape after having my second child. I exercised reguarly before having my first child. Were you doing it just to get into running or did you have a race scheduled? I did not have a race scheduled when I started. Were you a…
