Hey it's never your last chance. You'll really stress yourself out if you put that kind of pressure on yourself. Don't look ahead and think you have to deal with all 70 pounds at once. Look at each day and try to do better than you did before you started MFP. Focus on how eating more fiber, less fat and sugar in a day…

You can add me if you like. If it helps I can confirm the "weight is lost in the kitchen, you get in shape in the gym" message. Most of my life I've been in gyms and repeatedly tried losing weight through exercise (an hour of cardio and half hour of weights 5 days a week.) I never had much success - I think I lost ten…

Low carb on the go - Subway salads! I have hypothroidism and celiac disease so I can't eat gluten. Subway salads are fresh, you build them as you want and they taste great with just a little oil and vinegar. Weight is lost in the kitchen, so be certain to track what you eat, get enough fiber and keep the fat/sugar lower…

Yes I exercise. It actually helps alleviate the cramps. Even if I just go for a long walk in the neighborhood it helps. I also notice that while I might want sugar and other things, it actually makes cramps and headaches worse. Best diet for me (not that I always follow it) is higher protein and veggies and fewer…

I have 3 autoimmune diseases, all of which can affect energy, in addition to hitting menopause. A few years ago I was almost 20 pounds heavier and thought exhaustion was my new normal so I can empathize with how you feel. First rule is to not judge yourself. Your biochemistry is a bit different, so you will need to listen…

I've heard that you lose weight in the kitchen, you get in shape at the gym. For me it's true. I don't lose weight by working out, I maintain or gain weight. I lose weight when I change what I eat. What is in the calories makes a difference. Rather than try to eat "healthy" all at once try drinking enough water and…

Awesome job! Keep it up, you look great!

It's about the only fast food I can eat because I can't eat gluten (celiac disease.) You can have any sandwich made into a salad and I find the prices reasonable, the fixings are fresh and you can change it up. As long as you're meeting your food goals I wouldn't worry about how often you eat there.

Congratulations on the weight loss. Since the dietician is easing your calories up and monitoring your progress if it doesn't work for some reason you can always reverse course. I say go with the plan and see what happens. If this plan does not work and you are still stumped consider going to an endocrinologist to get…

I couldn't stop craving pizza - until I saw the huge chunk crappy frozen gluten free pizza took out of my daily allotment. Doesn't keep me away from the Dove chocolate and wine tho

I add in frozen blueberries (.25 to .5 cup) before microwaving the oatmeal. Then add a little maple syrup on top. It's my healthy version of blueberry pancakes.

Derrick isn't the first deaf NFL player, there were 3 defensive players before him I think, but he is the first deaf offensive player. Not certain if your research turned that up. I hope your son takes his dreams as far as he wants to. Derrick - and ALL - of the Seahawks are great. They are active in the community. We…

I just saw a post on "Lean bulk". If you look it up on the internet it is all about eating and working out to add muscle. Have you read up on that?

Tuna Burgers a can of tuna, some chopped celery, chopped onion, garlic (one clove or dried garlic), shredded cheddar (or diced cheddar) and Miracle Whip. Mix the ingredients, put the tuna on hamburger buns, wrap in foil and bake for 15 minutes at 350 until the cheese melts and the buns are crusty. For less bread and a…

You should still continue to lose weight, the speed that you lose it at may depend on whether switching changes the balance of carbs/fiber/sugar, etc. It's not just number of calories but type that can affect weight loss. If you know you may fall back into bad habits that won't go away after 2 weeks. You might also want to…

Silk Light Chocolate Soy Milk or Almond milk. Both are good substitutes and taste good. They do not taste like milk so be prepared to give your taste buds a chance to adjust.

There is no one right way. Everyone's body is different and there are multiple paths to the same goal. So take a few deep breaths and relax. There is a saying that I've learned is true: you lose weight in the kitchen, you get in shape in the gym. Instead of focussing purely on calories and killing yourself in the gym, pay…

Lots on Amazon Prime if you are a member. Don't forget the library. Free to join and a lot of great stuff.

I agree it seems doable. I've just been on MFP for about a week, and one thing that surprised me is how much the projected weight loss in 5 weeks changes based on the amount of fiber and fat you consume. If you are analytical in your approach and choose foods to get you in the right fiber/fat range and not just in the…

I like raspberry vinagrette. I also tend to use less than the recommended amounts. Another trick is to build your salad with enough flavor that you don't need dressing. I make a spicy chicken that I mix with raw spinach, feta, red onion and cucumber. The cucumber and feta smooth out the spice in the chicken and the onion…

I bought a couple of quart water bottles and keep them in the fridge. I have myself in the habit of trying to drink so much in the am, afternoon and pm. If I've forgotten, at least the bottles let me know how much I have drunk. If you have a smart phone you can also set it to go off every couple hours to remind you to…

It could be some other things too. My fitness pal is based on averages, it isn't a guarantee of weight you will lose. If you are hypothyroid you won't be burning as many calories as average. If you move less than the average person per day (for example, you're tied to a desk job, go home and sit on the couch) you may not…

Full blown meal replacement, if you can make yourself do it (I saw your post about keeping it up), are home made smoothies. I make a chocolate one that tastes like a shake. The ingredients last a long time so you aren't rushing to finish. I have an insulated cup that fits on my blender so I could make it and run. It only…

I've taken a class once or twice at a gym. They were ok. I would check with the gym on whether it would be loud enough for your mom, or ask if you can take a class free on a trial basis. A lot of places will let you do that. I did one of the Wii Zumba games and that is great. You should be able to rent a machine and game…

A couple thoughts - yes, it could be the birth control. People react differently to it, when I went on birth control it threw my thyroid medication out of whack and I had to rebalance it. When the pharmacist switched me to the generic equivalent of the birth control pill I was on it threw the thyroid medicine out of whack…

Poodles were originally bred as hunting dogs. The classic poodle cut was designed to protect their joints from cold water (seriously.) I think your plan to take it slow and let the dog dictate how long, fast, far it wants to go is good. You could always start around your house with the dog, and if it tires out drop it off…

I haven't had the chance to look at your food diary, but I can offer strategies for when others are eating. I can't eat gluten and it is all around, plus certain family members still try to push it in various forms. The best strategy is planning ahead. When you know you'll be around family and want to eat because they are…
