  • Racine, Wi. here! I'm pretty new to Wisconsin and gained like 10lbs in fried cheese curds. We are also known for the Kringle here and the best are about a block away. Thankfully Kringles don't do much for me. I'm adding you.
  • Great job! It is really inspiring to see other people doing what you hope to be doing. I hope to lose 100lb too and there are days I feel it will be impossible. Have you been maintaining it long? What worked for you?
  • Hi, I also have Hashimotos. I'm coming up on two months with MFP and i've lost a good +15lb ( I have between 80-100lbs to lose). The thing is I haven't been pushing it too hard just keeping track and skipping the extra snacks/treats I know I don't need. I'm sure I'll need to keep cleaning up my diet here and there but so…
  • Good job and great results!

  • Thank you for sharing that is awesome. I hope to do the same I've got 80-100lbs to lose and keep off for life. Some days it feels like it will never happen but seeing people who have made it happen really help!
  • I think people are trying to clarify and understand what you mean. For example you say you don't like the stringy texture but lots of meats can be 'stringy'. Are you eating sauces with veggies in them or smoothies? Are you at risk of developing scurvy? We need more of the story to be supportive or helpful. Certain…
  • Nothing but trouble...and lots of snuggles
  • Do you know of Caitlin Doughty's youtube videos? I have yet to get here books. Its fascinating stuff.
  • I just found this article that might answer a few questions http://www.livestrong.com/article/270989-does-green-tea-help-lower-cholesterol/ I remember reading another member talking about raised cholesterol levels after weight lose and some one responded by say its a common thing that happens and it will level out.
  • So sorry @orangegato. For me I would go for a hike in the woods with my dog but a spa retreat sounds a lot better if you got the cash! When I broke up with my long term bf I took a road trip up the coast of California and stopped at my friends place along the way...her dog had just had puppies so that helped. Also talk…
  • Do you know how to swim and/or have accesses to a pool? If you do swimming or even moving around in the pool can help and just feels good too.
  • Your description makes me believe this is more then simple dislike and is an actual phobia. Many people choose not to face their phobias, they don't need to and I don't think you need to but I think it could be very beneficial and therapeutic. Empowering even.
  • @NorthCascades Wow, I just google earthed Diablo and Ross Lake, breathtaking!

  • @NorthCascades I will keep that in mind! It will be a few years out as I need to get in shape and save up for it. Have you kayaked on the Sound? Have you seen whales while kayaking? That would be a dream come true! @Derf_Smeggle Thanks, I will check them out. I know I can rent a kayak here in Racine on the river but I…

  • I'm losing at 1800cal a day sometimes more. I started at 230 and I'm 5'5 so I do have a good amount to lose.
  • Hi! You can friend me, I also love food! I don't plan on ditching any food group or eating less then 1400cal a day, I do however know I need to lose some weight and that means cutting back on the extras.

  • Hi! Friend me if you'd like. I'm around 46 days in. Sorry about the bullies.
  • I think I understand what you are saying. It is over my head honestly but I had a doctor well versed in all the research and data out there, that was able to explain it to me. It has to do with thermogenesis, insulin and ghrelin. One of her suggestions was to eat a protein and produce (fiber) at every meal. The idea is to…
  • I keep meaning to look into youtube swim video to clean up my stroke. Right now I'm just going be cause it feels awesome to be in the water.

  • I would also say plan on eating more then 1200cal to start. Im guessing you are younger and taller than me both with a goal to lose around 100 pounds. I've been eating about 1800cal+ with moderate activity and been losing about two pounds a week. At 1200cal I wouldn't be able to function normally i.e. hungry, angry, faint…
  • I don't remember the last good deed I did. Today, I came across a gorgeous garden and introduced my self to the lady gardening. She welcomed me into take a look and then gave me a ton of plants!! She made my day, week, spring! Oh and she gave me hummus too. She was pretty amazing person and I hope I can pass down those…
  • Dill! soo much dill! I need to learn to dry it. Radish, spinach and cilantro for now but all thats about to go to flower. Snow peas are just about ready!! First year in this area and first year with a community garden plot. I'm too nervous about foraging myself to do it yet but we had ramps, fiddle heads, garlic mustard…
  • OMG! I would flaunt it if I had it! Personally I believe in crop tops for everybody who likes to feel the sun/air on their tummies...You look great! How did you do it?
  • Congrats on getting back to it a killing it! Also how did you get the graph. Using the one on MFP i can only do the last year.
  • YMCA 2 locations in town but I'm only going for the pool so far and haven't even checked out the rest...yet. Pros; Location, cleanliness, towels provided. Pools are both very nice the one was built in the 70's and the other built like 2 years ago. The newer one has a steam room and the older one has a sauna both have hot…
  • How much did you eat before? Maybe you are cutting out too many calories at once. I get nauseated when I get really hungry. Too much water is a thing and yes caffeine withdrawal can be tough.
  • 2 eggs with spinach, onion and cheese. strawberries and almonds. diet coke.
  • :o I could really do some damage in there :# :D I mean....I want it all. Enjoy your dinner with grandma! <3
  • Okay, I'm guessing you are not in the US so my reply isn't really helpful. I'm sorry. I think MFP is a great start because one thing they explained to us was that people who logged and kept logging their eating had a much greater rate of success. Try regulating your hormones by eating every 3-4 hours (no eating between…
