I have no specific love interest at the moment. They scare me! I only started getting love interests when I hit my 20s. I'm 21 now, so I'm relatively new to that sort of thing... I had a relationship at the age of 19, but it didn't go very well... I wasn't interested in them... I find your story about you and your…

But myself is not naturally very friendly. I'm usually nervous of new people. I'm sometimes quite nervous about friends. At first glance I'm quite distant and reclusive. I sound like I don't want to talk to you. I don't try to be like this - I honestly want to talk to you - but I'm scared of misinterpreting you or saying…

Thanks for commenting! I have not been diagnosed on the autistic spectrum, but I have not discussed it with a doctor specifically because it's the least of my problems and I only get half-hour sessions. There is a bit of a complicating factor - I had depression from a pretty early age and didn't engage in friendships…

Hmm.

Thank you! I'll look on Wikihow and eHow. I never thought to Google!? I do have social anxiety actually (though it's the least problematic of my diagnosed mental illnesses so I often forget - except, of course, in social situations). I'm starting to get an idea of what flirting actually IS now... it's a way of conversing…

Sort of makes sense. I don't get how flirting is just reading body language... Surely you have to DO something as well? Or say something? I guess texting makes sense. I'm the kind of person who gets really nervous sending texts until I get a reply with confirmation they don't hate me (in response to any text) so I'd have…

I love this post! This is WHY MFP WORKS! Yay!!

Given that it takes about a month of strength training for a woman to put on 0.5 lbs of muscle, it's unlikely to be muscle. Instead it is likely to be water retention in your muscles as they heal themselves. It's not fat, unless you went away and ate an extra 7000 calories.

Depends on the guy or girl I'd be with. I have a friend in a four-way relationship (she has a girlfriend & boyfriend and her girlfriend has another girlfriend) and they're really happy. I'd love to be so comfortable with my love for a partner - and their love for me - that I would not be jealous if they wanted to have sex…

Amusing :D I can't stand nutritionists!

Must feel great. You'll get all kinds of wondrous mobility as you lose more weight. Here's to the next 13!

Wow, I killed the thread.

There are a few things I feel I should point out as a biochemist... to quote Ben Goldacre, "I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that." (I want a t-shirt saying this.) Let me quickly put this into perspective: phenylalanine and aspartic acid (also aspartate) are amino acids, which are the building blocks of…

At the beginning I think a large part of the reason why we exercise is to build up stamina to be able to burn loads of calories in the future. But at the beginning, we can only sustain low burns. For example, when I started running, I got exhausted after a 100 kcal burn. I was at first discouraged, because - well, that's…

You're excused. But you can't pull off the same excuse again for a MINIMUM of 9 months!

MFP's one of the best things that ever happened to me. I'd never have lost the weight without this exact system - having a calorie goal which you can modify by exercising... it's perfect. But more than that, it's the people on here who keep you motivated. MFP is such an ingenious solution to an epidemic problem!

Before (not highest weight but best photo I have, around 180 lbs here, gained another 11 pounds shortly after) During: (146 lbs)

Information on coffee diuretic properties was revised, the general consensus is now that although not as hydrating as pure water, it doesn't remove any extra water. There's no need to give up coffee. I am healthy and drink 3-4 cups a day. Now a year ago I was drinking around 15 a day, average. That was unhealthy,…

... when you regularly blacken your toenails during runs. ... when something you could not have attempted before starting weight loss (e.g. run a 5K) feels so easy now you feel ashamed for not doing a distance more taxing! ... when you exercise for the endorphins and fitness value rather than the calorie burns ... when you…

Don't eat! Your body needs to sort out the infection, don't interfere. If you don't feel like eating or feel like throwing up when you do, that's because your body is saying STOP, NOT right now please! You will not have any long-term repercussions. "Starvation mode" only STARTS to set in after 3 days of severe calorie…

Pitterpatter, there's such a difference in your legs! Wow. And I like your t-shirt :)

Height: 5' 4.5" Starting weight: 191 lbs (but before picture is around 180 lbs, I don't have a better one) Current weight: 145 lbs (BMI 24.5) Goal weight: 130 lbs 180 lbs: 146 lbs: ETA: 130 lbs might be a bit thin on me, we'll have to see. So my goal weight isn't fully decided.

Heya, I'm 21 and live in London, and shop at Tesco mainly! I'll send you a request :)

That's a lot of weight lost! And I love the big grin on your face showing off how much smaller you are now :)

Please don't stop! We need more success stories. We have loads but can always do with more. Befriend some people > 300 lbs just starting out and motivate them, in turn you will try to set a good example to show how it's done. Before you know it you'll be under 200 lbs... you're amazing to have gone so far - I feel like…

It tells you the calorie information when the boxes arrive, and all of the possibilities are already in MFP so you can log them really easily!

Take photos now if you haven't already. Congrats on losing 25 pounds :D

I feel sorry for the people who started the peaceful protest. They went out to do good, and now they have to live with the fallout, which was hardly their fault. Here's to hoping it spreads no further. It's about 4 miles from where I am currently.

Don't worry about it. Being in the higher heart rates improves your fitness. Although you may burn more calories from fat (expressed as a %) when you're at a lower heart rate (typically called the 'fat burning zone' or 'weight loss zone'), you burn significantly more calories at higher heart rates for a given length of…
