  • Same problem here. Last night when I ended my day it told me what I'd weigh in 5 weeks. I still had 186 available calories. Later last night I ate an 80 calorie snack. When I went in and added it this morning the red weight thingy jumped 1.5 pounds! So that 80 calorie snack will make me gain 1.5 pounds over a 5 week…
  • Hello. "Morbidly obese in 'da house". Yes, it's like those around me are either going blind, or in denial re: my weight loss. Clerks in stores, medical staff, even strangers will stop me and exclaim "OMG, you're really losing weight -- good job, keep it up". Have I heard it from husband, daughter, son-in-law? Nope. I still…
  • Hello everyone. I am 57 and still have around 200 pounds to lose. Yes, it sure is a lot harder at this age. When I was at this weight at a younger age I could shop for hours, exercise, and walk everywhere. Now it's so much harder because of bad knees and arthritis. Today I had a clinic appt. and purposely parked far away…
  • Today is my 61st consecutive day on 1200 calories. I do that because I STILL have almost 200 pounds left to lose. Some days it's a real struggle. I try to save some calories for evening so I can have a snack (popcorn, rice cakes & PB2, etc.) so that I don't go to bed ravenous. But wow.....the next morning when I log in to…
  • Great job, you look fantastic! I'm really getting discouraged because it's coming off so slowly and I want instant results, of course. Thanks for sharing -- it's really inspirational!
  • Yes, count me in. I accidentally walked down the Easter candy aisle in Walgreen's today. Yikes........
  • Hello and welcome. There is a group here called "Heavy Weights" for people who have 200 plus pounds to lose. I'm a member, but unfortunately the group is not active. Let's help get it going! I'm twice your age, but feel free to add me as a friend, if you'd like.
  • Since I don't do a "cheat day" I use McD for my one treat. After I have my weigh-in, if it's successful, I always head to McD and get a soft serve cone. I count carbs for my diabetes and I factor those 22 carbs into a meal. It keeps me motivated!
  • Go for the McNuggets, even if they are McBeak. In fact, that is my go-to treat meal every month after I weigh. Last time I was there for the grand kids and only getting a side salad. Pulled up to the drive-through and from the speaker came a blaring "Would you like to try a 40-piece McNuggets?" Um yeah....in my dreams -- I…
  • I just burst into tears when I saw your success story. I'm roughly the same weight as you when you started and at this point it seems like a daunting task. Thanks so much for sharing -- it's very motivating!
  • Wow, sounds good. If you continue to do that every day you'll see results. You're wise to get going on this when you're 30 years old. At age 30 I was over 300 pounds but could still swim, bike ride, walk through malls all day. At age 30 all my blood work was perfect too, no diabetes, no high blood pressure. But it seems…
  • Add a full cup of brown sugar and a half bag of marshmallows. Oh wait....that was last year. In 2014 I like mine with salt, pepper, ICBINB spray, and sometimes a dot of honey.
  • Thanks very much for your warm welcome! Believe me, my glucose readings were NOT like that before I started logging on MFP, so it definitely works. I'm anxious to see an A1C. My problem is that yes....I always counted the carbs --- but that's all. To make up for no carbs I was eating things like bacon cheeseburgers on 1…
  • Ha, too funny!!!! Thanks, you made my day!!
  • You know what it took me to finally stop eating at McDonald's? Well, three years ago, half-way through a large Shamrock Shake, I keeled over in pain. Was rushed via ambulance to the ICU in a major medical center 200 miles away, where I had a near-death experience. Diagnosis was pancreatitis, caused by all that fat! Had…
  • Hi. I'm Valerie, just turned age 57 and live in Northern Minnesota. I've been T2 since 1999. At one point I took 100 units of Lantus per night, but am now down to 30 a night, and don't take any oral diabetes meds. I've included total weight loss on my tracker, but in reality I've only been working hard to eat right since…
  • For me, I don't weigh every time I go into the bathroom and see the scale! In fact, I put my scale in the basement. Weight can fluctuate according to retaining fluids. I get disheartened when I don't see immediate results, or if I go up a couple pounds. Now, I only weigh at the doctor's office. In fact, I go there every…
  • Pear here, too. I was just lamenting about that this very morning when I took my measurements. Since November I've lost four inches from my chest, six inches off my waist and ZERO inches off my hips. It's very disheartening. I look even more out of proportion than ever!
  • I've been eating 1200 calories a day since Thanksgiving. Some days I go to bed early cuz I'm sooooo hungry and can't wait till morning to get allotted another 1200. Since I've been on this same yo-yo dieting pattern for 40 years, I already KNOW what's coming. One day I'll go to the doctor and won't see any results, I'll…
  • Hi Nia. Welcome. As you see, people rarely post on this "200 To Lose board". Sometimes I feel like I'm all alone out there. You ARE very beautiful and I could definitely see you as a super model! My top weight was 500 pounds and as of last Monday I weighed 383. I know what you mean about "ordering clothes and having to…
  • Ughh.....thanks for the reminder about the apple cider vinegar diet! 30 years later I can't even use it for cooking because the smell brings back horrible deja vu. I wonder if anyone ever lost weight on it because all it did was make me sick.
  • Hi Trish. I've only been on this site a few weeks but so far it's working. There is another group called "Heavy Weights" for people who have 200 pounds to lose. Hardly anyone posts on there, but maybe people don't know about it, so please check it out. I still have 200 pounds to lose, too. I know it sure seems…

  • Hello everyone. This is so embarrassing -- joining a group that I really DON'T want to be a member of! My top weight was 500 pounds. I'm down to 400 now. Have been using MyFitnessPal since early December and will have my first weigh-in on Feb. 3rd -- so we'll see if it's working! I spent 11 weeks of 2013 in the hospital…
