Christmas morning breakfast will be a large glass or two of Bucks Fizz, croissants, fruit salad platter and yoghurts - sausages and bacon for the meat eaters. Then this year we decided to have Christmas lunch out as I didn't want leftovers lying around the house for days on end! In Dubai they have a terrible thing for…

Well done everyone!! Last week: 195lbs This week: 194lbs 1lb loss!! (actually it's 1 1/2 but I only count in pounds...today I'm counting everything) It's not much but I am so happy after 3 weeks of the scales not budging an inch...I start eating more and this is what happens...yaaaay!!!! One happy bunny! Good luck…

I made this decision yesterday and have started today eating lots of protein, veg, nuts and some fruit. Add me as a friend if you like, we can start this together! Look at www.nerdfitness.com for some good no-nonsense info about cutting out a good chunk of carbs. This is what made me shift my butt yesterday!! :)

LOVE hummus, in fact I had it for my lunch today with carrot and cucumber...however my portion says 4g of protein....not much when my daily goal for protein is 174...hence my problem :( Thanks anyway! :)
-
It's only because I want to do low carb, and like I said in the first post, I was following Nerd Fitness to eat low carb, high protein and reasonably high good fats. Go to the website and have a read for yourself. :)

Yumm!!

Spinach!! I don't eat much spinach at the moment so thanks for that, I'll add that to this weeks shopping list. I eat a tonne of veg at the moment, but missing some spinach and avocados now you mention it! Thanks!!!
-
Cottage cheese, never thought of that....and lentils and black beans, yumm! I eat a tonne of veg too! Unfortunately living in the Middle East I don't have access to things like hempseed or pea protein powder, but that sounds awesome and I might get someone to get some for me from UK or US next time we have visitors. I'm…

I'm thinking the same thing!! My goal is for next Christmas to be rid of as much fat as is healthy. Yesterday morning was a frustrating time for me, but I quickly got over it as the day went on. I still love my cheese and my occasional treat too but I felt I was having too many of them, today I'm changing all that. I'm…

Thanks all for your input!! I agree, I'm in this for the long haul and I want to lose this FAT, I'm just being impatient!! I need to give my body time to adjust. I have to say, I am feeling pretty damn good at the minute, better than when I wasn't eating all my exercise cals. I'm sticking it out, I've found this website…

You and me both! I find that fat free yoghurts and mixed nuts and fruit are great easy snacks. I take a small tub of mixed nuts in my handbag...just in case! I say this.....however, the biscuit barrel does get opened on occasion, no matter how much I try not to!

I made these last week as a test for Christmas......they are amazing, everyone went nuts for them! I made the pastry too thick though so make sure you roll it out quite thin. If you make mini ones they aren't too bad calorie wise. I made them in a mini muffin tin....but one or two really good mince pies at Christmas wont…

Haha, I know Alex, it's addictive once you start getting fitter. I do cross trainer because I have a bone disorder and can't run or do high impact sports. I was told to do only 2-3 strenuous workouts and then 2-3 less strenuous ones in a week plus work on my upper body because the resistance I use the cross trainer at…

Thanks!! There's actually two days that I'm not doing cardio, but doing weights...is that fine? I'm just doing curls, lateral side lifts and two arm overhead raises, 6 sets of 16 reps each with 21/2 kg & 4 kg dumbbells!
-
I'm having days off from cross trainer and days off from upper body weights but no actual days off from exercise. I usually spend half an hour with weight/resistance training. I have resistance bands and 2 1/2 kg and 4kg dumbells. Just incase anyone is remotely interested!
-
Thanks for that! I've been wondering about alternating weight lifting with cross trainer but that would be losing a day of real workouts which is difficult to get your head round really. I don't want to be doing something wrong, but at the same time don't want to look like I'm making excuses for not using the cross…

I gained 2 1/2 stone after I met my husband!! Too many dinners out and cosy dinners in with too much wine, haha! And then BOOM, you suddenly realise you look like the back end of a bus and promptly join MFP!!
-
I'd love to be part of someone's team if anyone is looking!! I try to burn around 1000 cals 5 days per week and around 300 on rest days (doggy walks...he wont rest!!) Message me if you would like me to join you. I would love some extra motivation on the run up to Christmas!!!

Haha, it's a good thing really,....even if a little horrifying! I had similar thing happen to me, but it was my knickers falling down my thighs, and I had to walk out of a meeting with my knees so close together to stop them falling to the ground, I'm sure people thought I had wet myself or had some illness! Well done on…

I make mine with sugar free apple juice, frozen blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and mango, a low fat/fat free yoghurt and half a banana! Amazing!!!! I have it for breakfast and it keeps me going until lunchtime! It works out about 240 cals, 2 fat, 4 protein, 4 fibre but 52 carbs.....however they are good carbs!!…

Wondering if I'm going to be the only one weighing in today?? Last week: 195lbs This week: 196lbs + 1 lb!!! .....and I don't even celebrate Thanksgiving! Tut tut!!! I have started eating close to my 1200 net this week just as a test as before I was not eating back my exercise calories, and this is the result of…

I have my fruit in my homemade breakfast smoothie, and a low fat or fat free yoghurt throughout the day, and veg is in most of my meals (vegetarian) but you could make soups maybe with little oil or no oil for your veg intake? Just an idea!
-
Well done to you too!!!! Just 2 more pounds and you reach the 2 stone mark also, that is fab work!

You've got to really want to make a difference. You need to get some motivation, yes, but you need to keep that motivation for months (not sure how much you have to lose). Make it something you enjoy or you'll not stick to it, and do different things to keep it interesting. Make sure you have one or two days off from…
