Thanks for the responses everyone! I've calculated my BMR to be around 1620, my TDEE is around 2230 (I say around because I'm inbetween 5'9" and 5'10" and my weight's been fluctuating, so when I used an online calculator and figured it out for both 5'9" and 5'10" and entered in the lowest weight I weigh in at and the…

Thanks for the responses everyone. I'm only on day 2 of upping my calories, but I seriously already feel better. It was easier to wake up in the mornings, easier to make it through the day. Hopefully in a few months, you'll see my success story ;) Good luck to everyone on their journey!

I started doing some light lifting a little over a month ago, and I'm working with my trainer. For the past 2-3 weeks I've been doing some more heavy lifting and I think it's the main reason I'm seeing so much change in my body. Also I love it WAY more than cardio haha.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm excited to be able to eat more, just a little nervous haha. I'm definitely going to search around for some more friends who are eating more. It's kind of hard only having MFP friends who never eat more than 1400 calories. I have one last question for anyone who might see this. How long…

Hahaha. I didn't realize my trainer was a rarity until my mom told me about a trainer she met with who advised her to eat only once a day...

Wow thanks for this. I've only been on MFP for a month and I do a lot of message board lurking, but I hadn't come across that thread. There are a lot of women on here (especially on my FL) and in my life in general who are really restricting themselves so it can be hard to trust that this works. I'm excited to look into…

I'm 5'9" and currently 173. my goal is 160ish.

You should really try to eat more. After looking at you diary, a lot of days you're not even eating 1,000 calories. I know to a lot of people it sounds crazy to eat more to lose weight, but right now you are eating a dangerously low amount of calories. You lost weight so quickly because you're practically starving…

Incline walking for 30 minutes. Heavy dead lifts. Weighted squats. Some sit ups, a few leg lifts (for the stretch), and ended with a 2 minute plank

This. The way you describe what you did, honestly, made me uncomfortable. I probably would have complained about you, as well. Or lectured you. Or flipped you off. It's hard to tell. Yes, she should racked her weights. Everyone should. You have witnessed her doing this multiple times. Have you ever said anything to her…

Start going for walks. I think when people hear exercise, they picture themselves sweating and panting on a treadmill, about to pass out. It doesn't have to be like that. When I was younger, I hated exercise. I LOVE going to the gym now. On the weekends, I don't usually go to the gym because I don't have the time between…

At around 20 or 21, I got all four removed at once. I didn't feel anything until about 3 hours post surgery. THEN I WAS IN SO MUCH PAIN. i've been in worse pain since so it's kind of hard to remember exactly how bad it was. The extreme pain only lasted for the first day post surgery. I couldn't eat much. I ate a lot of…

Be careful with this. If you go in with a negative attitude, it could affect the way you view yourself. I take pictures weekly, and I compare them. If I'm having a good day, I can easily see the difference. If I'm feeling low, I'm critical of myself and can't see any difference. If you're doing it right, you're getting…

Thank you so much. I'm currently eating around 1400- 1500, so I'll start planning to increase it slowly. One more question, I don't typically work out on the weekends, should I be aiming to eat a little less these days? Or stick with the 1900?

I know! When I don't weigh myself, I catch myself eyeing my body in the mirror and smiling. But then I step on the scale and all that happiness disappears. For my height, I'm just a few lbs overweight (literally not even 5 lbs). I'm desperate to get down to 169 lbs just to not be overweight. I know it's silly and if I'm…

I started off wanting to loose 1.5 lbs a week, but I started reading a lot more of the posts on MFP and realized, that despite this always being a goal of mine, it's pretty aggressive. I've recently bumped it down to 1 lbs a week. Honestly, I'm still pretty new to this so despite seeing just about everyone refer to BMR,…

Plant fusion is great! I got PB2 and I mix the two of them. I just shake it up with water, and its delicious! Sometimes at home I'll make a "milk shake" with almond milk, pb2 and plant fusion. I tried the cookies and cream flavor, but I don't suggest it. The chocolate is better.

I'm between 5'9" and 5'10" and my current goal weight is around 160 (157 to be exact). 157 was my lowest weight and I thought I looked great. I wouldn't mind being a little more than 157 if it meant I was more muscular and toned.

Nutella is just good at marketing. I remember when I first heard about it, I was under the impression it was healthy(ish). But then I looked at the nutrition facts and was blown away. On average, it has more calories, more saturated fat, more carbs, more sugar, and less protein than peanut butter. I also don't really like…

zucchini boats! cut a zucchini in half, hallow it out, and fill! i like to make pizza zucchini boats. My favorite: homemade pesto, feta cheese and kalamata olives all stuffed in a zucchini and baked for 20 minutes. Yummy!

you eat the same thing every day?! :noway: i would go crazy. is that something you're going to be able to keep up for... ever? remember weight loss is a long journey and it's important to learn how to have a maintainable diet. but if that works for you, then it works for you. but to answer your question, add some candied…

I'm a vegetarian, so it can be pretty difficult for me. I just recently started adding a vegetable protein powder to my diet that adds 22 grams of protein (and only 120 calories). HEB in Texas has a lactose free milk called "mootopia" and it's got 12 grams of protein! So I mix my protein powder with some mootopia and I've…

Interval training is great! I just recently switched to speed intervals, but I was doing incline intervals at first. I set the treadmill to manual. I started off walking at 3.5 speed on a 1.5 incline for 5 minutes to warm up. Then I'd bump my speed up to 4.0 (and eventually 4.5) and I increased my incline every 5 minutes.…
