  • Only "greenface" hasn't been a practice used throughout history to ridicule and mock a group of people that have been subject to persecution, judgement and stereotypes for years... and black face actually is really offensive... I'm just suggesting that he change is his picture because it can easily be misinterpreted. Like…
  • ...are you in black face? i highly suggest changing your photo... And eating more protein.
  • I lost about 40 lbs in about 5 months and was below my current goal weight about 2.5 years ago. But then my best friend passed away in a car accident that I was also involved in. I was in a wheel chair for 3 months. After I healed from that, I had to focus on graduating from college. Then I moved 2000 miles away from home,…
  • The amount of sodium in that pizza I ate  i don't even want to think about it... However, worth every delicious bite. It's taken me awhile to really understand water retention and normal weight fluctuations. I won't lie. I can't pretend I wasn't once someone who would beat myself up because I thought I gained 2 lbs…
  • I've lost 10 lbs and my size 12 pants are getting too big. But at the same time, size 10 pants aren't fitting very comfortably. Still feel a little too tight. So I'm giving it another few weeks before I start switching sizes. I'd love to be in the single digits.
  • I just came home from PF about an hour ago. I did squats and dead lifts. I make less than $1,000 a month. I pay $10 a month for PF. I literally can't afford to pay anymore than that. Works for me. I get a little tired of reading these forums about PF because they make it seem like 100% of the people who go there are not…
  • Sometimes our loved ones can have a really terrible way of showing concern, especially men. My boyfriend (no offense) seems a little more supportive than yours, but he has a great deal of issues with me focusing on weight loss and getting healthy. He's very supportive of me going to the gym and getting exercise and…
  • Short for me! my hair is incredibly curly and difficult to manage when it's long. I love having short hair. I find that it compliments my facial features well. I wear it with confidence and I find I attract more of the men I'm attracted to with shorter hair.
  • Hey! I'm between 5'9" and 5'10" and my highest weight was around 205-210 lbs. I lost a lot of weight in a short period of time, and dropped down to 157. After a bad car accident and a death of a loved one, I put a lot of that weight back on. In August, I weighed in at 183 lbs. Joined MFP in late January, and I'm now down…
  • Thanks, everyone! Very helpful info, as usual. I guess I've just been depriving myself of beans for the past few months. I'll start going by grams from now on, as well. For the most part, I've been under estimating because I've been SO terrified of over estimating. But 1 oz of cheese... man that is NOT a lot of cheese.…
  • Plant Fusion is good, just don't make the same mistake I did and get the cookies and cream one :grumble: I'm currently using Naturade Pea Protien Vanilla. It's pretty yummy, but only has 20 grams of protein. I usually mix it with some high protein, lactose free milk and PB2 to get some extra protein in there. Both are…
  • I'll log marinade, because sometimes those calories can add up quickly. But everything else, no. I usually leave a lot of wiggle room in my calories for things I don't log or things that I don't trust the logging for. My calorie goal is 1700, but I don't like to go above 1650, just to be safe.
  • Thanks everyone! I figured it was normal, just wanted some reassurance so I didn't get frustrated with myself. I recalculate my goals pretty frequently. According to the Scooby calculator and my trainer, I should actually be eating closer to 1800 or 1900 calories with amount of activity I do, but I literally just got a…
  • Hey girl! Just turned 24! Feel free to add me :)
  • Sounds like you have some issues that extend past food. Getting rid of all your junk food and accurately logging the calories of a binge can only do so much. Sounds like you need someone to talk to. I moved very far away from home almost 2 years ago. A good friend of mine had passed away the year before, and 3 after I…
  • Ding ding ding! I bet you'd find a lot more success figuring out your BMR and TDEE and eating somewhere between there. I had been stuck losing and gaining the same 5 pounds for a few months eating between 1200- 1300 calories. I was working my butt off at the gym and I was so friggin hungry and I wasn't getting any thinner.…
  • 1. Pounds lost: 8lbs (only looking to lose 20) 2. How long it took: 8 weeks. 3. How many calories you were eating a day: started off at 1,300 and hated it. Only lost 2 lbs in like 3 weeks. Bumped it up to 1,700 and have been losing a pound a week. 4. How many days a week you worked out: 5 days. 5. How many calories did you…
  • ...people tip professors? This is news to me. With tuition being between $30,000- $50,000 in the United States, I can't imagine tipping to be customary.
  • I'm not really sure the point of your response. I'm not saying it doesn't happen. Obviously it does. Or else this thread, and the 7 others I've seen about this exact same situation, wouldn't exist. I'd prefer to go to another gym, but show me another gym in my area that will charge me $10 a month with free access to a…
  • It's really a shame certain locations take things to such an extreme. The Planet Fitness I go to is great. The trainer I work with there is amazing and incredibly helpful. The staff is amazing. People work out in whatever they want to. There's a girl that always run in her sports bra and I admire her. Those who lift keep…
  • I'd say you're not eating enough. As a male, unless you're under 5 feet tall and less than 160 lbs, there's no way you BMR is 1600. I'm a 23 year old 5'9" female, and I'm eating more than you and still losing. I'd just be careful about eating so little, because you want to have a diet that you can easily maintain and…
  • the smile makes the picture :) you're radiating confidence. you look great!
  • I'm between 5'9" and 5'10"
  • Thanks everyone! Ya'll are making me feel amazing! :blushing: Good luck to everyone on their journey. :flowerforyou:
  • Eating only 1200 calories is very hard. It also isn't the only way to do it. When I first started here, I was trying to stick to 1200- 1300 calories a day. I was hungry. I wanted to give up and it just seemed impossible. With that attitude, I knew I wasn't going anywhere. I lost a little weight, but saw no changes in my…
  • Wow thanks everyone. A lot of really great and helpful info here. I had never heard DOMS before, let alone knew what it stood for. I'm relatively knew to weight training. I messed around with 10 lbs dumbbells for awhile but nothing ever very serious. And I'm sure 100 grams of protein isn't a lot. But it seems like a lot to…
  • first of all, it's pretty necessary. second of all, perhaps i could lose weight if i was eating 1200 calories... but I can also lose weight eating 1,700. and i'm a whole lot happier, energized and stronger now that i'm doing that. please, take some time to learn a little bit more about your body and how it works.
