Well, it certainly isn't me considering I've never had a drink in my life. That only leaves one other person… Whether or not you consume 1500 calories of pure alcohol or mixed alcoholic beverages doesn't really matter. The issue is that you reserve 1500 calories for those alcoholic beverages every day. And since you eat…
-
You specifically stated "I reserve 1500 calories for my evening drinks." Don't start backpedaling now. Unless it's to AA.
-
@Dex37 Oh the irony...
-
Because you have a drinking problem that needs to be addressed by professionals. Everyone here will tell you that if you want to lose weight, you need to quit drinking 1500 calories worth of ALCOHOL a day. May I ask how many calories you consume daily? If you are serious about losing weight (and avoiding cirrhosis), you…

You drink 1500 calories worth of alcohol every night? Please go to an AA meeting.

First, I'm so sorry for your loss. Everything that you are feeling is completely normal and to be expected. I see you've lost 100 pounds. Congrats. That is a wonderful accomplishment. Not many people can say "I've lost 100 pounds." I think it's safe to say that your husband would want you to continue down a road of health!…

Fast isn't good when it comes to weight loss. You want a diet and exercise regimen that is going to give you long-term results.
-
There's no mention of a food scale in your OP… Unless you are using a food scale, you do not know if you are in a calorie deficit or not.
-
No reputable doctor would ever recommend a waist trainer.
-
Waste trainer? Like waste as in garbage? Or do you mean waist? As in part of the abdomen?

Chronic hypoglycemic stepping in… If you experience low blood sugar, you will want to eat/snack every 2-3 hours. Most people think that we need to eat a lot of carbs but too many carbs can actually lead to a roller-coaster effect (a spike in BG, a drop, a spike, and so forth). When you eat carbs, you need to pair it with…

I have supra-ventricular tachycardia so a HR of 160 is not worrisome to me. However, if you feel dizzy, faint, or experience chest pain when your HR is 160+, you need to see your PCP and ask for a referral to a cardiologist. They will conduct tests like an EKG and possibly a stress test to determine the amount of stress…

Slimming World's philosophy is that you can eat an unlimited amount of certain foods and still lose weight. That philosophy is wrong which is why you are gaining weight. You aren't eating in a calorie deficit. You cannot eat unlimited lean meats, nuts, seeds, etc. and expect to lose weight. Meat has calories. Nuts have…

No, a diet made of 80% carbs is never good for anyone. OP is missing out on key nutrients from eating an extremely low amount of fat and protein which are essential for proper organ function.
-
You have totally unrealistic views- along with OP's neighbors. If I pay $---- a month for rent, I WILL use my apartment in any way I like. It is MY space. When you live in an apartment complex, there will be noise. Her neighbors chose to live in an apartment. If they didn't want to hear someone exercising for an hour a…

I never offered a diagnosis. I simply stated that the Mayo Clinic claims an A1c of 6.7 is full-blown type 2 diabetes- which is also what I was taught in nursing school. Better luck next time trying to twist my words.
-
Exactly what I told you the first time. Stating the info I learned in nursing school and while in clinical regarding an A1c higher than 6.4 is not 'irrelevant' or 'unwarranted.' You asked a question and I gave you numbers to back it up. Don't like it? Don't ask next time.
-
Since I have an insulinoma, hyperinsulinemia, and hypoglycemia and have worked closely with endocrinologists and dietitians specialized in diabetes management for the past 3 years, I'd say that I know what I'm talking about. However if you don't like what I have to say, you can see for yourself here: 1)…

OP has an A1c of 6.7. 6.7 is equivalent to a blood glucose of 146 mg/dL. Not horrible but it is elevated. Besides, his blood glucose must spike pretty high in order to have an A1c of 6.7. Whether or not he is diabetic doesn't matter because he still has an elevated blood glucose. Hyperglycemia is a medical condition.
-
Honestly it all depends on who you talk to. OP has an A1c of 6.7 which is considered full-blown type 2 diabetes by the Mayo Clinic. However, OP's doctor simply said he is 'insulin resistant.' An A1c between 5.7 and 6.4 is considered pre-diabetes- which is a warning sign like you said that they 1) need to lose weight if…

He posted it in another thread. He is pre-diabetic.

That's a lie.

You'll be fine to lift tonight. It was just a blood sample so you didn't lose much blood. The HPV intramuscular shot will definitely be sore. However, it's best to keep moving to reduce the soreness. You can take an anti-inflammatory if it is bothering you.
-
Agreed. You are 450 lbs. You can easily eat 2000 calories and still lose weight.

I just came back from a work conference. Half of my suitcase was food. I put everything in baggies so it wouldn't spill when on the plane. I brought Bear Naked bars, KIND bars, on-the-go natural peanut butter, oatmeal, and Planter's chocolate nut protein mix. I requested a fridge in my room but was lucky to be placed in an…

What medications did you try? Did you have genetic testing performed? I began taking anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds when I was a senior in high school. I started taking Zoloft, had a horrible reaction and ended up in the hospital. Then I switched to Cymbalta… Couldn't take the side effects. Next I tried Lexapro. It…

Why would you undergo WLS after you lost 300 pounds naturally?

You have it backwards. Calorie deficit for weight loss. Exercise for health.
