Don't feel the need to continue reading then, as the topic holds no interest for you. Anyway - Great thread - will be interested in the answers too. Out Friday and Saturday on the Christmas outings and don't want it to blow a weekend for me :-)

Like the group I have now - logging and commenting regularly (or have a good reason not to be doing so). People who are working hard at the end result but can have a laugh at themselves and me too and aren't expecting perfection. I've got great friends and have managed to avoid the 'clever', sarcastic and just plain mean…

Someone asked this on a forum the other day so I actually paid attention which I haven't really before. I think I've been going now for around 10 weeks now, so still quite new, I'm going a bit slower than I have been as have just moved from C25K to B210K and didn't want to run out of steam. When I do my treadmill run I'm…

I love to eye up the ladies - but honestly - it's because I like to see whether I'd prefer my legs or theirs. I can appreciate a nice leg but generally because I want to borrow them :-)
-
I do the odd treadmill session to give my legs a rest from the pavement and when the wind has been too high - I struggle with the boredom but the other option I see is failure and get out of the routine so I guess that's my motivation. I've been on the C25K and now B210K programme and hate to miss a session so that keeps…

British Navy humour. Never mind.

MM - I got to rumballs and had to turn away - they are the best thing ever!! x

I'd give myself one. Ho ho ho.

Self funded Christmas lunch out somewhere - but you get the first round or two in. Sorted. Without being sexist, and working mainly with men - I would be very surprised if I got something that was appropriate and not at least half eaten, so if you're already onto a winner by thinking about it in advance, you can't go far…

Reminded me of these muppets too: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-477256/Woman-tells-999-operator-Help-Im-scared-spiders.html I'd love the hear the recording of the responses to these calls ;-)

Yup I do as Ironsmasher says, Frylight sprays. I'm not frugal, I use about 40 sprays but that's still only 40 cals. Prawns are pretty low, we use them a lot but rinse them well as we use the frozen and they're pretty high in sodium. If you find that you're hungry or need to put a few more cals in, we toast cashews in a dry…

Hello! I'm doing the dash in the UK too. First race (so far) I'll have done - but I'm hoping to do a couple of 5k's first. I looked on Youtube for the exercises as half of them I haven't done either - but I have so far only tried them half heartedly a couple of times ;-) I'm thinking I may have to pay for a trainer at…

LOVE! I'm so gutted I'm not yet at the elephant's penis!

Re getting out of the 140's have you tried mixing the exercise up a bit? Just changing things around a bit might give you the extra there.
-
Yes, I thought this too :-)

Personally I try and eat most of my daily cals allowance, and 75% - 80% of my exercise cals. I'm a bit of a slacker with measuring etc so this tends to keep me right. If you have a day where you don't get a chance to eat much/not well etc try and build a spike day into that week where you go over by the amount you were…

Some of the ladies in my running group are doing the Santa 5k on Sunday, and our running teacher (a PT) said nothing too strenuous after Wednesday. I'd do the B210K the next day if you feel up to it. Good luck! x

I'm so glad you won - the site wouldn't allow me to log in after I registered! Congrats, and well deserved after all your hard work! xx

I absolutely agree. It's very brave and heroic to take on a marathon without sufficient training, not necessarily a good idea. Surely the unprepared runners may assume they have to accept a certain level of risk? Is there any survey on the lifestyles of those that have died or suffered a serious issue whilst running a…

Day one of week 1 for me! As ever for me, no idea of the pace but I really wish I'd read the forum first, as went too fast and struggled a bit - I know for next time that's the main thing :-) I run in an oblong, two laps for C25K now I've abandoned the beach (too blowy and cold!) and struggled one side of the oblong due to…

I'm also a fan of couch to 5k, I've just finished it. I know I'm slow (I joined a beginners ladies running club - not sure if you've considered that as an option?) and I'm at the back, and I don't care so I don't know my speed I'm afraid, but every time I mention my speed to a runner the answer is almost the same - it will…

Might be time for a blood test, to check your iron levels again - possibly your thyroid function too. I've been to the Dr's this week for exactly the same and this is the route they've started with me.

Without sounding like a creep - Berry's advice has kept me on the straight and narrow since I starting thinking the same as you a couple of months back. Unfortunately, when I was 22 I took myself out running, 3 miles at a go without a plan 3 times a week. When I got shin splints I ignored them and kept running until I was…

Yay!! Booked and at 11.30. Simply because trying to pretend to listen to a conference call at the same time, I misremembered your time Berry and also thought that would agree with my stomach :-) Can't wait. I'll be the one stuck to the barbed wire by my hair (don't hog the stretcher Atticus!)

Bump for a read later - thanks!
