I was just thinking that - definitely can't get a builder or a mechanic without hearing that, part of the Oxford dictionary here!

Childish behaviour. Maybe that's just my man - I'm not knocking it I'm a big fan if it. Also, the jars and the spiders thing.

I was worried about this (although I'm way off) as that's the bit I find hard. A few people posted to say try adding 100-200 calories a week on and see how you get on, and do that two weeks at a time. Seemed like the sensible approach, but open to new ideas!

Do what works for you - if you are losing and you don't feel deprived - you're doing good!

Ooh still got to try that! I have chicken most nights, but I don't think I do anything out of the norm. One Weight Watcher recipe I do over and over is: slit the chicken breast and stuff in one teaspoon of parmesan, one teaspoon of pesto and a couple of basil leaves. Wrap the chicken breast in a slice of parma ham, spray a…

Hi, welcome to MFP, not used sparkpeople but love it here, the support is great :-) I'm sorry you've had a rough time of it, and congratulations on not letting things out of control - a few pounds is nothing, we'll soon help you shift that! Add me if you'd like a bit of extra support, great to have you here :-)

Copied link into my browser - you look great - you can really see the difference across your middle, well done! Great shape in your arms too :-) Thanks for letting us see the hard work paying off :-)

Hi, (ex) yo-yo'er here too! Add me and we can break the cycle together - you'll get all the help and support you need on here, I'm learning some great lessons already that have helped me overcome 'old' issues, your MFP friends will make all the difference :-)
-
Easy to do isn't it - I'm really bad with the working hard to get down for an 'event' and then re-gaining - this time it's going to be different! How about some longer term goals, maybe fitness related? Re exercise you scuppered me on the DVDs as I was going to go for yoga or pilates, that would be great so long as you…

Well done! Doing great, and looking great too! Bin those jeans and get shopping :-)

Tough cookie! Well done on your double success!

Whooo hoooooo!! Well done! We are are own worst critics sometimes, it's great to hear it from someone else :-)

Also....and this is NOT a critical comment - but the recumbent bike is a pretty low burn, lower than the bike (I use it sometimes.) Using my HRM I burnt 300 odd cals in just over an hour on the bike (tension down, I've got shin splints at the moment) - I know I wouldn't have reached that on the recumbent and I know I could…

Hi, did you update the bike with your correct weight as of now? I've had that problem where I've forgotton what my weight was in kilos so had a guess - and was way out when I checked back home - that caused my 'mismatch'. Also was your strap tight enough? Finally, I've got a really old Polar and I sent the team a question…

Awww, congrats!

Hiya, have sent you a friend request - welcome back!
-
Lol - we all do it, it's human! Forget all about it, back on track and weigh in next week - and well done for coming back, that's the important bit!

How about get her down to one of the good running shops and getting them to put her on a treadmill? They will be able to tell you. I can't speak highly enough about ours!

Good post, bound to have some conflicting opinions! Personally (and I do mean my own point of view!) I felt it was my duty to immunise my children in order to protect those who couldn't be immunised - however - if diet can make these children resilient, fantastic!

Good for you for getting it out in the open, and being able to address the issue here. You're absolutely right, bony isn't any more attractive than super morbidly obese, but yet sometimes our minds play tricks on us. Well done on your success, and thank you for being a great role model for others who may be experiencing…

That's pretty annoying - but the best way to beat a stereotype is to prove them wrong, so we all (regardless of our size) need to put out less, if we all do that they will be scuppered, as they are more than likely unattractive with zero personality :-) Ha, bet they'll wish they kept quiet now!

Same for me too. You need an expert to look at you walking/running to assess what you need. A bit more expensive, but money you'll be glad you spent in the long term. Give myself as an example, I got shin splints *then* went to a good store. The trainers I have now are totally different to my last pair, and heel wedges…

LOL! There's got to be some truth in this! Hungry = Grumpy!!
-
Definitely agree. I only tend to get stuck in in the forums when someone is running someone down - or I did on some pro ANA talk I heard once, trying to herd others up into the idea, I couldn't stand by and listen to that.

Thanks!

Personally I'd go for the 1,200. There are arguments around going lower, ie, pre gastric surgery, petite ladies sometimes need to go to 1,000 - but my personal experience as a 5 7" female under 1,000 cals is great initial loss then grumpy, freezing cold all the time, lethargic and unable to exercise. For me 1,200 minimum…

bump - for later. Thanks!

How about a little eBay number, used, or George etc to keep you going, then keep your lovely new one as a treat to look forward to? Asda had some £18 coats today when I was in there, or eBay you'll probably come in even lower. Best of luck, and look foward to wearing it out nice and new for the Christmas do's!
