  • ewww.... ham steaks
  • we know from experience. 4 ounces of chicken breast (raw) is 120 cal. plus, my mom is a registered dietician and i was taught a lot about nutrition growing up.
  • in the case of chicken, there is not pieces of chicken being cooked off and flying away into nothingness. the weight will go down after cooking partially due to water loss. and just to restate, the nutritional values are for uncooked meat.
  • weigh it raw, but thawed. when you cook it you aren't "cooking out calories that you don't eat" so ignore the post from jrich1
  • On the RARE occasion I drink hard alcohol, I'll only drink Ketel One. Its so smooth! My friend ordered me a Ketel One and water with 2 lemon slices and I was hooked! I love getting the Minute Maid Light Lemonaide (15 cal/8 oz) and mixing them together for a refreshing summer drink
  • I want to join! I used to be a server so my working hours allowed me to drink almost every night. Now I work REALLY early so I have cut back and don't drink during the week anymore. Not because I felt I needed to cut back, but I'm so tired at the end of the day and if I do drink on a worknight, I feel like CRAP the next…
  • i now work a normal day, but my schedule used to be all over the place. i count my "day" as from the time I wake up to the time i go to bed. if i wake up at 5pm monday, go to work and get off work and go to bed at 10am Tuesday i would log my food as tuesday.
  • I heard you body can start "using" it quicker if its room temp. at least that's what they told us in boot camp since everyone HATED drinking room temp water.
  • use a veggie burger or a turkey burger and low fat cheese. you don't use any oil on a grill so you don't have to worry about calories coming from that. you can find vegan boca burgers for 70 calories and extra lean ground turkey breast is about 120 cal for 4 ounces (pre-cooked weight). or if you must have beef, extra lean…
  • are you using a heart rate monitor with your bike computer? I cycle a lot. I recently wore my heart rate monitor and we rode 22 miles, about 6 of that uphill and averaged 16mph and my HRM said I burned about 750 calories (i'm 26, 5'4" and 120lbs).
  • if I cooked dinner the night before, then I just bring leftovers. after I cook I dish some out to eat dinner, then dish some out to bring for lunch the next day and tell my husband he can eat whats left! yesterday I brought a bag of steamfresh veggies and teriyaki sauce and leftover spaghetti and meatballs. today I have an…
  • high fiber veggies, fruit and caffeine. I drink one cup of black coffee in the morning, veggies at lunch and dinner and about 6-8 servings of fruit throughout the day. I poo every time I go to the bathroom (and I drink A LOT of water so I go to the bathroom A LOT)
  • My mom is a registered dietician and she gave me this idea: I buy frozen fruits (strawberries, mangoes, pineapple, dark sweet cherries, blueberries blackberries, raspberries) and put them in a tuperware container. I put them in the fridge at work, not the freezer. By the time I'm ready to snack on them, they're still…
  • I know that it British slang, but its NEVER used here so when I say the post my mind immediately went to its most common use here in the US. lol I was hoping for a comedic post
  • I spin and cycle. I have never used padded shorts or a gel seat in spin, but always padded shorts on my bike. I had a little soreness when I first started and still get some if I haven't been riding for a while and start up again. I think it is your improper form that is causing the numbness. Form is SO important, most…
  • can't say I'm a smoker or ever quit, but I opened this topic expecting a completely different subject!
  • any Dave Matthews CD. I love every song, and own every album.
  • ...just hop on the bus Gus, don't need to discuss much, drop off your keys Lee, and get yourself free... I  Paul Simon
  • eeewwww.... U2! Can't stand them. I would have to agree with Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon or anything my the Beatles
  • I usually cook 1 cup UNCOOKED (4 servings at 1/2 cup per serving), that way I know after cooking, there will still be 4 servings, then I work off ratios. If I eat 1/2 of the cooked rice, I know I ate 2 servings. If you divide the rice into 4 portions since you're cooking for 4 people, then you know you ate 1 serving. Does…
  • 1. How many people do you know that are raising a child(ren) alone? Are they male or female? -none. My brother in law SORT OF qualifies as a single parent, however he leaves with with their mother or their grandmother (my mother in law) 90% of the time. 2. Were you raised by a traditional parenting system or…
  • I'm on week 2 of the 100 pushups. pretty easy so far!
  • honestly? I think so. but I also hate it when thin people wear super tight jeans also. its just gross to see every single crease, bulge or curve.
  • i HATED dolls. all kinds! i liked skip-it, lite brite and i also had the creepy crawler maker!
  • 1/6 of the recipe. it says "serves 6" then states the info for each serving
  • Yes, the toys do make kids want a happy meal. But you know what? The parents are the ones with the car and cash to go and purchase fast food meals for their kids. Let your kid want one and throw a fit if you say no, ultimately it is the parents' decision. And unfortunately, children are obese because THEIR PARENTS feed…
  • the high fructose syrup debate. all those commercials with the people going crazy because someone is about to eat HFCS and then the other person defends HFCS
  • cycling! started about a year ago. you aren't imagining things when you say your arms hurt after riding, you're holding yourself up the entire ride with your arms! if you work at it, a century at the end of the year/season should be no problem! welcome to the cycling world
  • agreed on the cell p[hone usage while in the gym. sometimes i feel like grabbing one of the 20 "no cell phone use" signs hanging up and shoving it in their face.
