  • HeatherWhat a little elf. CJ
  • Miriam What you and Joyce say about families rings so true. No child is ever born into the exact same family. Time and events have a way of creating a new environment in which the children operate. Moves, divorce, illness, death all have an effect. You both are giving real insight to a difficult subject. Nikki…

  • Hi Anne, The best way is to grind. Think about it. If something is harsh enough to dissolve a stump, think what other long term damage it can do to your soil as well as the connected water system . CJ
  • Katie Wonderful onederland !!!!!! Yippeeeee. I am of the same opinion about mowing as Miriam. I am in the process of replacing all the grass in the front yard with trees, bushes and perennials, using as many native plants as possible. The I will expand the beds under the burning bushes and trees in the back and add some…
  • DJ Instead of dill, two of my Greek and Bulgarian cookbooks call for scallions, parsley and either mint or grated nutmeg. Personally, I always use nutmeg rather than dill. For foods with spinach, cheese and egg, I find that it gives a bit of a fresh flavor. I always use fresh mint and freshly grated nutmeg. CJ
  • Everyone in the storm areas: Please stay safe. CJ

  • Sylvia Driving is such wonderful progress. Have a great time getting a new dress. You deserve it. Heather I am so relieved that you will have a driver, not DH. It is hard enough to navigate in one's own language let alone a foreign language in a place neither of you has been. Penny Wonderful picture. The lands of the…
  • Larissa I think that I should embroider this on a pillow or throw or have it printed on a very large poster and keep it where I can see it everyday. CJ
  • Rats- lost my reply. Here we go again. Sylvia the turnip flowers pics were lovely. It is good news that you are recovering so well and getting out to enjoy the spring. They remind me of the sunflower fields in Bulgaria. Such happy flowers. Anne how nice for your friends that you cook for them. I liked your description-…

  • Thank you to everyone who gave advice to me about the wedding. It really helped. TheRealMsWolf said Having designed a number of water treatment plants that use sand layers, I can unequivocally say this is not true. Unless of course you mean that when sand is combined with resin it forms a new impermeable substance, in…
  • Pollance- so much sadness in your life. Please don't be critical of yourself. Getting through grief has no timetable. Welcome to the group. It is a safe base from which to forget a new path. CJ
  • A special welcome to all the new ladies. You will feel right at home and as if you have known the bunch for many years, very soon. I just joined at the end of the year and already feel almost like an old-timer. I hope that I can meet some of these ladies in person sometime. I felt so embraced by this wonderful group of…
  • Yes. They will run after and attack cars if they think their territory is threatened. If you go on YouTube you can see videos of turkeys car or animal encounters. They are also fast. CJ

  • I know someonewho called the local media and the response was lighting fast after the story came out. CJ
  • Go for it. Do one better and call his personal home or business phone number or email on his personal company email address. You may also be able to look it up on LInkedIn or Google. If you are on Twitter, hashtag the company name and say poor service - your repair people do not show up as promised. I bet you will get a…
  • Good for you. It is so nice to see you taking care of yourself. Baby steps to full recovery. {{{{hugs}}}}}
  • Sylvia I am so glad that you are able to type with both hands, exercise, and play with clay. Have fun at your meeting this evening in the new place. Joyce First of all, let me say that I am so sorry about your sister's health. Whatever decision she makes, will, I am sure be the right one for her. I know just how hard this…
  • Uh- and which ceramics could those possibly be???????? Hhhmmm. >:) There are many beautiful portrait vases, funerary offerings, and household ceramics. I will post some of these. I did not take any pictures of the "life cycle", fertility inducing explicit figures or what now seems to be the word of the moment-"kittens"…
  • Dear All, This is my favorite Moche gold vase. It looks as if it was done by Picasso. I love how an eye is shared on each side of the face. It is located in the museum of the Peruvian National Bank. I have found that the national banks in many countries have wonderful museums and the collections are far more than…

We woke up to the storms this morning and have been battling heavy winds all day. LenoraWhat a wonderful family. You will remember Easter with a smile for many years to come.…
  • Barbie I am thrifty also but I finally figured out that the reason I kept getting poison ivy -even though I stayed firmly away from any known location- was because I may have transmitted it to me via the old gloves. New gloves are lots cheaper than all the co-pays for treatment. Anne They feel great too. However, they no…
  • I promised myself some plants and a new pair of garden gloves if I completed my to do list. Aren't they adorable? They just ooze spring. I tried them out that morning for 2 hours. The church bells, carillon and birds chirping their accompaniment illustrated the poem: "The kiss of the sun for pardon, The song of the birds…
