  • Welp, the tally went: Gryffindor - 0.422% Hufflepuff - 0.407% Ravenclaw - 0.396% Slytherin - 0.393% We lost 12.4 lbs as a group. WE NEED TO RALLY THIS WEEK! There were nine team members who hadn't weighed in when I posted our percentage at 2:30 PM EST today, and we were the last group to post so I waited as long as I…
  • I'm going to wait until Tuesday afternoon to post our final percentage. So many non-weigh ins... I'm holding out a little longer. I hope no one is angry with my Monday at 11:00 rule and has quit because of it. :(
  • I am down 1.4 lbs, which was nice after last week's zero loss. I have officially removed four members who hadn't weighed in since week 2. Two more are slated to be removed tomorrow as this will mark their third week of not weighing in. Four members didn't weigh in last week and I hope that they come back! If we lose them,…
  • Tomorrow is weigh-in day! I can't wait to see us kick major butt! It's been a crazy week for me, starting a new summer class, a new job, and two new shadowships--I'm exhausted. So, I'm going to go off to bed and dream of victory tomorrow morning on the scale! Goodnight Slytherin! Also posting the challenges for this coming…
  • As long as you are talking about the noun form, dance, I am pretty positive it should be 'danza'. You could always double check an Italian dictionary. I only took a semester of Italian and it was a long time ago, so I am very rusty.
  • A quick way to go for all of my Slytherin friends posting about awesome fitness and diet efforts! I have tons of confidence for us heading into our next weigh in!
  • I always thought (or perhaps hoped) that Luna and Neville would end up together. According to the HP Lexicon site (I checked because I was curious) JK said in her Open Book Tour stop at Carnegie Hall that Neville ends up marrying Hannah Abbott, and she becomes the landlady of the Leaky Cauldron. Hmm... I also LOVED how…
  • Well, I started a summer class at a new college and it's mega-stressful. A lot of ground to cover in one month. But, I made it a personal goal to ALWAYS take the stairs, including the stairs to the fourth level of the parking garage where I'm usually stuck parking. This is a big deal for me because 1) Elevators have always…
  • If by chance another long holiday weekend comes up we can adjust posting time a smidge. We were the 3rd group to post totals and we didn't do that until Tuesday afternoon Eastern time, so the others didn't change much from routine either, and honestly, I wouldn't want to go much beyond Tuesday evening. Still weigh in if…
  • We lost 0.62% this week. We're still waiting on Hufflepuff to post but it looks like another Ravenclaw victory this week. Posting so far: Ravenclaw: 0.70% Slytherin: 0.62% Gryffindor: 0.29% I know we can take it back from Ravenclaw and we were very close. I had to delete four members from the group, and will likely delete…
  • Welcome Mark. I, like you, was genetically blessed to be at my heaviest, almost a year ago, morbidly obese (BMI 45.5) but still have excellent sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure. I grew up playing sports and was still active, though not nearly as much as I could have been because of all of the extra weight. I started…
  • Got you, got a couple of other people too.
  • Acetone is a chemical solvent. You can probably find it at a hardware store or at a beauty supply store. But like I said, I've never removed them myself so I'm not 100% sure.
  • If you let them take them off (this isn't usually that expensive) it's best. I've had fake nails on pretty much for nine years with a few months here and there off. Before anyone tells me, "SOOOO bad for you!" I have dermatillomania and it is the only thing that keeps my scalp (my picking spot of choice) from looking like…
  • I used to be a big social drinker. Meals included a sugary girly cocktail, splitting an appetizer, having the course and sides, and of course, splitting dessert. I nixed the appetizer and am making better choices with courses and sides. My final choice came down to losing the drink or the half of a dessert... and the drink…
  • Goose egg. TOM. Ugh. I was up during the week because of it so I'm glad I'm shedding some of the bloat. I just wish it had been faster so I could help!
  • It is possible. I know I would have to exercise restraint around the bread, but it is possible. One major Italian chain actually has a new "Garden Fare" menu (you can look it up on their website... I didn't list the name of it in case that wasn't allowed) with "lighter" food options. Most of them have a ton of sodium,…
  • Good morning, Slytherins. I have added my weight but am feeling like a failure (sorry guys!). I tore a ligament in my ankle Friday and contracted an upper respiratory infection Friday. Needless to say, I think Friday the 13th got the best of me this time. I've spent the last few days being miserable and going on an eating…
  • I am in the US, but also willing to partner up at this point. Missed the post asking for volunteers... I haven't been sitting on my butt at the computer much the last few days, which is unusual for me!
  • Welcome to the boards and congrats on your progress so far!
  • I am a Ravenclaw through and through, but Slytherin does appeal to my ambitious-to-a-fault nature, I suppose. :) I really like Snape... what a fantastic character. I am failing at the extra challenges this week because it's finals week and I've been too preoccupied with chemistry (in lab I like to pretend I'm in potions,…
  • To go shopping with my best friends and actually get to try on cute clothes without having to sneak off to the fat girls section where the selection is rotten and makes me feel ugly, if they have a plus section at all. I am tired of going and watching them try on outfit after outfit that looks fantastic while I have to sit…
  • I live in the US, in Kentucky. Very rural as well. I do a little bit of everything so I don't get too bored. I'm on a cardio kick right now, doing lots of walking and biking, and the elliptical. Once final examination week at school is over (next week!!) and now that the two weeks of non-stop rain are over, I plan on…
  • Welcome! I find this place so wonderfully supportive and I hope you will too! On an unrelated side note, I traveled to different parts of Austria with my college choir a few years ago and it was one of the best experiences of my life... so I find it really cool (and maybe I'm a little jealous) that you get to live there!
  • Congratulations on all of your success!
  • 23, going to be 24 in July. I feel like I'm getting so old  Live in Kentucky, single, and I think I'm going to be in college forever so I guess that works well for me (I'm almost finished with year six of at least eleven). Desperately trying to lose weight because I've always been the "fat girl" and I'm eager to just…
  • I started off with 112+. I've lost 34, so I still have quite a way to go. I slip up, a lot, and it is such a struggle every day. But we can do this! Seeing other MFP-ers on here who have lost that much and more is so inspiring. I am learning so much every single day. Feel free to add me if you want to!
