  • Supper tonight was an oven baked turkey/turkey sausage burger with Swiss, mustard, mayo, pickle and tomato on a Ciabatta roll, corn from the garden {via the freezer}, un-popped Jalapeno stuffers, green beans, mixed veggies and more tomato. Everything was real good. The poppers is my fist try doing them this way. Much…
  • Good Morning Cool Kids. It has been so hot I've had to work in the garden early and late. But day before yesterday I did get in a little of this during the middle of the day. And this yesterday.
  • Great job. I bought several new belts when I had lost first 30 pounds, thinking I was about done. Then as I lost 40 more pounds, I ended up buying a hole punch, and learning that belts with holes all the way round were smart.
  • Supper was ham, turkey and Swiss {with mustard and tomato} on a toasted Ciabatta roll, green beans with almond slices, ham and chicken stir-fry and tomato slices. Very good.
  • Supper was a ham, turkey breast and Swiss sandwich {with mustard, pickles, olives and tomatoes}, melon, grapes and {mixed} mixed veggies, green beans and corn. Pretty good.
  • I have run into this with stuffed peppers. I came up with un-stuffed peppers, which are just as good, with much less work. I just go ahead and chop everything up from the start, mix it all together and bake. So just because your boats were beached doesn't mean it isn't a great meal.
  • We started with a pepper, onion, cucumber and tomato salad. {Everything but the cucumbers came out of the garden} It had mini sweet peppers, bell peppers and Jalapeno peppers, and one of the Jalapenos was HOT. Supper itself was ribs, ham, baked beans, creamed corn and green beans with almond slices. Everything but the…
  • Good Morning Cool Kids. Alf, love the pictures. You have a lovely family. Nice work on the cake and cupcakes. {I take it the little one is a bowler?} I did something this morning I haven't done in a long time. I walked {20min @ 4 1/2mph} when I wasn't needing to go anywhere. But after eating with three groups of customers…
  • My early supper {baby shower} was a couple of wings, the little ham and cheese sandwiches, potato salad, lil' smokies, meatballs and some kind of spicy, cheesy spaghetti salad thing. It was good, but also kind of hot. My late supper {birthday party} was collard greens, baked beans, creamed corn and ribs. This was all very…
  • I just heard one of the little Taekwondo kids ask the instructor, "Mr. Eric, if we go to sleep, are they really going to paint our nails pink?" You could tell he was worried, but Eric said, "I've been doing this for seven years. We have plenty of nail polish remover."
  • Hey Kids. I've got a Taekwondo sleepover here at work tonight, so lots of kids running around making noise and stuff. I'm giving them about another hour of my time, then they get locked in for the night. I only got an hour in the garden this morning. I had to do the whole go over and fix breakfast for Mamma thing. Her…
  • I Googled New Mexico BSA camps/weather, thinking you would be burning up. But it's cooler than than here at the Larro Ranchero. We won't see 69F at night here until September. And that is with the freezer door left open. Have fun.
  • Taekwondo is having a sleepover at the Civic Center tonight, so . . . . . pizza. I figured I had better eat something healthy, so I had an apple, carrot, some of my garlic lime parched corn, and a few grapes. Not too bad.
  • The Defense rests.
  • Congratulation on the loss. I had to give up cheese grits and hushpuppies when I was losing. I started out doing the 5-2 thing, and limited myself to 600 calories on my "fast days". I got to counting calories and found out that an order of cheese grits from our favorite seafood place was 720 calories. As far as seafood…
  • I had a banking conference at work tonight. Their menu was a tomato, pepper, cucumber and onion salad, chicken thigh, bacon wrapped green beans, roasted potatoes, tomato and cucumber. I tried to do good, getting just two small cookies to go with my fruit. But when the ladies in the kitchen was cleaning up, they had…
  • The plan for supper was for Margie, Sister, BIL and our grand niece to meet my at Pizza Hut. So much for plans. Car trouble kept Sister and BIL in town too late for them to join us, so we decided to go to Parramore Too's. And I didn't even have the fried catfish for once. I did have a {un-tossed} salad, grilled chicken…
  • An early morning for me in the garden. My cleaning lady called in sick, so I've got it to myself today. I will just try to hit the high spots. Then off to work and slipping away long enough to meet Margie, Sister, BIL and the little one at Pizza Hut. Would not be my choice, but what can you do? Nice picture Beeps. Have…
  • Speaking of tractorbynet, one of the regulars over there died in a bush-hogging accident yesterday. He was retired Air Force. A computer guy. Farmers have always got hurt and killed on tractors, but now that everyone with half an acre of yard is buying a tractor, the numbers are bound to go up. You get attached to your…
  • Someone over at tractorbynet ask the same thing. But nothing so adventurous. It is the concrete border to the boatramp.
  • Supper was a ham, turkey and Swiss sandwich {with mustard, mayo, tomato and mini sweet peppers}, mixed veggies, chicken and rice, chipped chicken, chips and salsa and baked beans. Very good. Later I had 3/4 cup of Blue Bunny {no sugar added} Bunny tracks with Santa Fe trail mix and garlic lime parched corn. Hot, sweet and…
  • Supper tonight was a ham, turkey and Colby Jack sandwich with mustard, tomato and pickle. Also an apple, mixed veggies, a bite of potato salad, baked beans and the rest of the tomato. Yum.
  • Good Afternoon Cool Kids. Avery, my grand-niece, is here from Denver for three weeks. We went down to the river for a couple of hours. I swam a little, but mostly sat in the edge of the water and read. {I had cut grass all morning} She wasn't ready to stop swimming, but I had to get ready for work. You guys have a good…
  • We had leftovers for supper tonight. It was baked beans, chipped chicken breast, pulled pork, {blue} tortilla chips, homemade salsa and pasta salad. Very good. Too full for dessert now, but there is always the hope of later.
  • Supper tonight was a three part harmony. Margie cooked baked beans in one crock of the slow cooker, and chipped chicken breast in another, {with Jalapeno peppers, BBQ sauce and hot sauce}. I brought pulled pork and pasta salad from work. The green beans were leftovers from last night's get together at Sister's house. Later…
  • Nice looking green. ^^^^^^
  • Your welcome. I needed some place to practice, so I figured other folks did too. PS. I really like the flower picture over on the other thread.
  • You are right, most of it was fought in the wilderness. Indians made up the bulk of the British side, and they didn't play nice. I had forgot how bad our forces were commanded, but then the Brits were just as bad. Other than some nice Naval victories, that war was a draw. After the war all the borders were the same as…
  • My customers brought me supper tonight. It was salad, chicken wings {wet and dry}, fried catfish, meatballs, pasta salad and cheese grits. Very good. {I'm glad I had a very light lunch}
  • Good Evening Cool Kids. I've had such a long and boring day at work, that I'm reading A History of the War of 1812, published in 1882. Most of the time I save these old dusty projectgutenberg.org reads for when I can't sleep. {That is e-dust of course} The bad thing is I have about 5 hours to go. My only cardio {other than…
