You have many reasons to celebrate, congratulations. I found this quote from Amelia Earhart helpful on my own health journey. "The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. The fears are paper tigers. You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the…

I started losing at 65 and lost 144 pounds in a little over a year with MFP. I'm now at about 130 pounds lost but started heavy weight lifting this past October. I encourage you to keep at it and exercise if you can because the health benefits are amazing. Balance, blood pressure and retreat from diabetes just to name a…

initially because the loose skin I have from rapid weight loss scared the *kitten* out of me...so that would be vanity. Now I'm enjoying the feeling of getting stronger and all that goes with it.

I lost around a hundred in a year. Sure it's doable if you are otherwise healthy. Some of the big losers have said that they wish they would have incorporated more strength training and less cardio in their journey. I found the loss of strength surprising as well as the sagging skin from the sudden weight loss and am now…

I lost 140 pounds in about a year starting in February 2014. I'm 65 and Carried all that weight for almost 30 years. It was surprisingly easy to lose the weight and mostly because I chose to be single-minded about it, flipped the switch...made a decision. Normally I'm not so decisive but similar health issues to your own…

My weight loss was pretty linear for an entire year. I kept my calories about the same but increased the time and intensity of workouts because it did get a little harder to lose. From this chart it looks like I lost around 75 to 80 pounds the first six months.

Hi Vermer, thank you for your kind offer. I'm 64 and have been over 300 for the last 25 years. Since January, I've lost about 100 pounds on a 1200 to 1400 calorie diet and walking 10 K steps a day, every day. I'm at 240 right now. I've been thinking a lot about running but based on a couple of 20 step trials , it's more…

Thanks for posting, you look fantastic and all similarities to Meatloaf are history!:drinker:

You can lose weight eating cheetos and drinking coke as long as you're under in daily calories. Of course this wouldn't be a healthy solution. As far as cardio goes, I started at about your weight and I lost 60 of my 85 pound loss doing strictly treadmill workouts with my heart rate elevated and maintaining an exceedingly…

Thanks everyone, it took me a long, long time to realize that life is so much better as a participant rather than a bystander.:drinker:
