Yep one of my good friends is vegan and is severely overweight. I can't tell you the number of times I have argued with him over how healthy(unhealthy from my perspective) grapeseed/canola/olive oil is. He literally drizzles that stuff all over his food. He use s the whole "it's natural" logical fallacy argument.

Wait a week and then ask that question again.

I'll tell you what I've recently been doing that has worked out fantastically. I just carry 1-2 protein bars with me and allow myself to eat those bars to my heart's content. Normally I can only make it through one before feeling completely full. I went with my pals to the bar, to the best burger joint in San Diego, to a…

I'm terrible at running(I grew up with a cross hemispherical motor disability that makes my movement awkward), always have been, but I have quite good endurance. When my ankle is in good condition(I just sprained it) I would go for 1-2 hour jogs on an eliptical(or 1 hour on the tredmil at 6.5 mph, or 30 min run at a…

Like others have said, the point of exercise isn't to loose weight, but to build strength and cardiovascular fitness which can help in weight loss. That said I don't find any of the calories burned estimates to be that accurate so I only eat back up to half the calories burned if I feel hungry.

For me it had to do with internal emotional issues. My father was in the military so I didn't get to see him much. When I did see him he would always take me out to eat as a "reward." It was something we could bond over since we didn't relate to much else except for video games, another vice of mine. I internalized this…

You have to eat under your BMR to loose weight if you are not exercising., plain and simple.

If you don't have a medical condition, and are not taking appetite suppressants, I would just listen to your body. One thing to keep in mind however are your nutritional goals. If you aren't meeting those you may want to use those extra 200 calories to try to meet them even if you feel that you are forcing yourself to eat.…

Sounds like you are on your way to living a healthier lifestyle. In my experience I started by setting a set amount of time for cardio. It didn't matter what speed, angle, or type, just that I put in the time to build the mental commitment that I was going to spend an hour doing cardio no matter what(develops the healthy…

Who care's about a number, it's all about how you look. Keep lifting, but perhaps stop eating back the calories burned from cardio. You seem like you just want to cut a little bit of fat so I would suggest getting off anything that has creatine(it helps build muscles but can sometimes make you seem bloated and adds water…

I went from an all time high of 275 to a low of 179.2 and now I'm back at 224. I could look at the fact that I gained 40 lb's over the course of the last year and feel defeated after making such progress, or I could look at the positive fact that I am not giving up and that I have the knowledge to do it again. In your case…

In my experience it doesn't matter what you do as long as you cycle through all of the major muscle groups and that you feel the burn. Mixing one's routine works for people who hit plateaus because they tend to be caused by mental barriers. When you do a new exercise your mind has developed a number of reps to feel tired…

I sprained my ankle a week ago while attempting a back flip so I can relate to your pain. In the meantime I focused on proper nutrition, upper body weights and rowing on a machine. I also would perform stretches 3 times daily. I can almost walk on my ankle normally now although it's still purple from all the bruising and…

If you are taking an appetite suppressant use this time to develop healthy eating habits and with that remove the influences that encourage you to eat junk food be it bad food in the refrigerator or friends with unhealthy eating habits.

I would stick to eating only 1000 calories under your basil metabolic rate and then do more cardio to burn off the excess over your 1200 goal. Like others have said you don't want to loose lean body mass(muscle) because that will impede your weight loss. If you were recently on a football team I take it that you have a…

I don't eat mine back because most estimates for calories burned are terribly incorrect unless you are an Olympic athlete(studies used to estimate calories burned generally used college athletes not regular joes). That said if you were to eat back the calories I would suggest only eating half of them back if weight loss is…

If you want to get the best gains don't quit cardio. What you can do is limit your cardio by performing HIIT instead of long drawn out cardio. Do 20-30 minutes of HIIT (1 minute as fast as you can run, 2 min of a relaxed jog). You will be increasing your VO2 Max which will ensure your cardio vascular fitness and lead to…

I weigh myself daily and take a week long average.

Looking in the mirror is a better indicator of improvement than looking at a scale. Also it is highly likely that the estimate of calories burned from exercise is incorrect. Are you pushing yourself in the gym? Are you out of breath when you complete an exercise? Also when you workout do you feel sore the next day? If not…

Doesn't make a difference anatomically. The most important things to consider is how it effects your eating habits. I find that personally when I eat something high in simple sugars that it satiates me for about an hour and then I am hungry again after that burst of energy. One important consideration is that if a good…

Well you need to look at a 3 week average not just the past week. Also MFP and most books/machines over-estimate the calories burned through exercise(they are calculated based on someone with a 6-10% BF and high VO2 Max). I might suggest not deducting exercise from your calorie goals. Also inconsistent eating patterns tend…

Well looking at it nutrient wise I would say you should increase your protein intake. I'm not sure why you are eating Artisana - 100% Organic Raw Coconut Butter as it doesn't seem like you are using it to cook. I would suggest replacing this with a natural source of fat in the form of meat(since you eat eggs I assume you…

This is pretty true.

I do both. I spread my meals throughout the day approximately 4-5 hours apart from each other. I also take a pre-workout drink(mostly caffeine, creatine, and vitamin combo) at least 30 minutes before my workout, but also at least 30 minutes after my last meal. So I normally have a regular meal 1-2 hours before I workout,…

I would suggest reading some scientific articles on the subject. Blood types emerged way to early in our genetic history to have anything to do with food(since they emerged hundreds of thousands of years ago before any of our ancestors migrated away to enjoy a diversity of food sources), but a whole lot to do with…

I got a scale at Walmart for less than 10 bucks and I've had it for over a year and it still works.

"They" refer to the numerous military dietitians and nutritionist medical doctors I have talked to throughout my lifetime. The conversations were had under the context of developing healthier eating habits not necessarily weight loss so they may have been considering other factors that contribute to wellness than simply…

Generally the benefit is that it keeps your metabolism active throughout the day. This is why they recommend that you have 5 meals a day. I used to never eat breakfast because I was always stayed up late and woke up minutes before school. Now that I graduated college and can make my own schedule I've found that eating in…

Plan your meals out and meet your goals. I eat a lot of canned/frozen food with exact calorie counts so you don't get "ghost" calories from prepared food. I lost a little over 70 lb's at school simply by bringing my lunch with me. Not only did I loose weight(I was also hitting up the gym 2 hr's a day 5 days a week) but I…

The best advice it to not count on others. Don't let anyone be an excuse for your failure. It's up to you to succeed even if its hard.
