  • Peanut butter got me too until I got a food scale, and this will sound strange but vegetables and fruits. Believe it or not the standard medium sweet potato doesn't seem to exist in the grocery store and neither does an acorn squash, or banana for that matter. The sweet potatoes I was eating would be about 2 servings if I…
  • I saw a nutritionist my doctor gave me a recommendation for at the local hospital when my TSH levels were really bad. She gave me a food plan to follow that focused on little/ no sugar and lower carbohydrates and higher proteins than the site recommends. Along with higher fiber than the site recommends. In a typical day I…
  • Mehh, I have hypothyroid, and to the best of my understanding I will have it for life. I'm pretty active and I know even marathon runners and Olympians have it. That is comforting to not be alone. Having that said I know my dosage is 150mcg to get my tsh down just below 2 where I feel good now and can lose weight. Slower…
  • THIS is true. My parents love each other dearly and have been married for 30 years. Been through, thin, fat whatever and they still love eachother, same thing with my grandparents who have been married for 57 years. Seriously look at the way he operates. If you have a close male friend or family member talk to them about…
  • I've been using the same methods as kimsied and too have noticed somehow perhaps by magic that it takes me more calories per pound. This disease has kind of turned me into a fitness data nerd in a few respects. After using the HRM. I am going to push it on whoever is really mad trying to lose the weight. I was really mad.…
  • The more I read the worse this guy seems. You should really consider talking to someone in person about this like a counselor without him. Or a lawyer if you do decide to leave him to make sure he will help support your child you have in common. This looks like he is emotionally and mentally abusive and has some serious…
  • I still agree with caesar. Typically they don't really like that. I wouldn't want to stoop to that level unless you are physically stronger than him and know it for a fact. Just in case he comes unhinged. And sometimes controlling guys do come unhinged.
  • Wow. :noway: I agree with caesar. He really does seem cruel and then you alluded that he doesn't treat one of your children right. The more I read the more I dont like him. Granted I am not there and do not know this person. But if this is not all out of context you do need to take a step back. If you are close with your…
  • I don't really feel that people are judgy, I just think that mental and emotional abuse can be just as damaging as physical abuse in relationships. From what I have read, which was the whole thing before replying, this man seems like he is being cruel. OP as you lose the weight, and you will as long as you want to do it…
  • If you've been calling him husband and you aren't legally married, you should demote him to boyfriend and see a relationship counselor for your well being and to communicate better. He sounds like he is emotionally abusive as how you feel about the things he says that you write here is obvious from your writing I am sure…
  • I really like the quest bars, I asked them on their website to send me some samples and they did. They are very high in fiber and low in sugar, which is what I was looking for. The ones I found taste really good are the cookies and cream, the white chocolate raspberry, and the cookie dough. The vanilla almond is OK and so…
  • As far as I know I just have regular hypo. But using a H7 with my phone along with my fitbit and this websites app have been great motivators to keep me on track
  • I use a fitbit and like it very much. I also use a polar H7 and workout really HARD because I already know the hypo is a strike counting against me. It really does help to have ALL that data when talking to a DR and a medical dietitian (I saw one who worked with patients for diabetes at the local hospital) to help you…
  • Mehhh you know, my parents never taught me about calories, and I was an active kid. I turned into a sedentary teen though-- and I think maybe it could have helped to know then about what is in food and its relationship with weight (we rarely had junk in the house and had farmers we got meat from and grew some veggies) so I…
  • I think it all depends on what you were doing for the hour. I bought one after having some serious doubts about the calorie estimation from MFP and fitbit for certain activities, turns out I was right. My zumba classes with the H& average around 450-500 calories when this says 700, that could have been 200 calories of…
  • In the cardio room at the gym, where I go everyday I always kick my own butt and I am the sweatiest person there. Other than the thought "why the hell do I sweat like this" in my head I am always stared at by a bunch of the other gym goers. Although its embarrassing I like to think it just means I work especially hard.
  • those look like they will provide a good fit too, just be sure that wherever you buy them from you can take them back in case you dont like them because bluetooth wireless headphones are a bit on the expensive side. I would have hated to have been stuck with something that was 100 bucks and I didnt like (the jabras). I was…
  • YES I have these and I have had them for 2 weeks and so far they are amazingly awesomely the bestest earphones I have had ever ever ever ever. I got them from bestbuy and got the replacement thing if they fail in 2 years so I can replace them. Sorry for the enthusiasm but there was a terrible pair I had for a short period…
  • I would suggest changing up the kinds of foods you eat like instead of the cinnamon oatmeal, try some nonfat greek yogurt and mix in a tbsp of honey and maybe some sliced almonds Lunch looks good but you could try maybe eating one you make from home and weigh your ingredients to get accurate nutrition facts, salads and…

  • Thats what I have been doing with the fitbit app too. I tried spinning today where they have a workout video machine (sounds weird but it was pretty darn cool) and was able to burn 342 in about 40 minutes without joint pain, I take what I can get lol. And with the jumping I usually modify and am still wringing sweat
  • I do the moves as best as I can, sometimes I cant handle alot of the jumping for effort because hips hurt and when I do it its sometimes in a double day (run 3 miles or so in the am and then zumba in the pm) I weigh 175-174-177 depending on what my body is doing at the time.
  • My HRM is always a lower estimate than the MFP, maybe its because of the weight difference. I am fairly short, and my bmi is 31 so I really want to get much healthier than I am. I log my HRM calories. I wish I could run a pace like that for that long, that would be epic. So far when I do the C25K on week 6 I get about 400…
  • This is what I have been doing, I pay attention to the calories fitbit ays, not mfp and I log my activities on the fitbit and wear a Heart rate monitor. When I logged all this stuff in my fitness pal, somehow point a got lost on its way to b and I was very upset and only maintaining and not losing any weight whatsoever
  • well I trimmed the roots, to get them up out of the water so that the sprayers would be able to do their thing. the spinach looks ok but I really hope the cauliflower pulls through, I would say the whole thing in one container was a beautiful idea but without an effective barrier it simply does not work as hoped. Thy look…

  • I read your profile and wow, just wow way to go! I would say at disney make sure you have fun! If you are really worried about the calories in the food make sure you stick to the simple stuff ( stay away from cream sauces, make sure you eat some greens, and some lean proteins) but make sure you try the interesting stuff at…
  • I started as a 16, I loved loved loved VS clearance for clothes, lane bryant, catherines, and the avenue. If you find some classic things and mix and match, solid black bottoms with a printed blouse and a blazer will get you very far.
  • THIS. For me its still a battle, it has been 9 months since diagnosis with meds being changed every 6 weeks. However, I am very active at 4400 exercise calories a week bro! Increasing activity since diagnosis. If your MD says you need to get treatment, get treatment. you should be able to get into the military once it is…
