The last three pairs of running shoes I have had were the same brand and model :-), if you find a shoe that you feel is perfect for you buy as many pairs as you can!

Celery. I am completely serious, I can only eat it in the evening because it makes me so sleepy.

I take all my snacks (healthy) with me, as well as 'breakfast biscuits' so I can have that and fruit for breakfast (instead of having to face the cheese/bread/fry up/pastry based temptations available. I also tend to take an 'emergency' noodle where you just add water (as most hotels have a kettle), and have that with a…

Hey, just wanted to say that I was around 100kgs when I was 26, by 28 I was 72kg :-). I maintained this weight until now (31) and am currently working on getting down to 56kg (I wanted to be slightly lighter than 72kg to help improve my running). But just to say it's totally possible to do (and as one of the laziest, most…

This post makes me happy :-D. Good luck with the 5km and congratulations on the attitude, just kick the bad times in the face and find a positive in it :-) EDIT: Probably being turned down as an air force medic 5 years ago (I lost 35-40kgs so I could pass the fitness test) because I had bad knees when I was overweight…

I always do my workout anyway, I usually feel better for it. Except when I had bronchitis, then I gave it a miss until the antibiotics were complete.

You are so pretty in both those pictures. I think you look a lot like Paget Brewster. Congratulations on your NSV!

Celery - used to hate it, now I will happily snack on it (actually it's a bit weird but eating celery makes me quite sleepy so I tend to have it in the evening if I think I'm going to struggle to sleep, odd I know!) Tomatoes - still not a massive fan but I will eat them in a salad (which is quite a massive achievement for…

Female, 31, 7kgs in 3 months. I am 168cm and currently 65kg. I have 10kgs to go to my goal. Previously I lost ~35-40Kgs and have kept it off for around 5 years now. I want to lose weight to improve my running. My motivation is triathlons, I LOVE them, I have never experienced any high as much as at the finish line. My tip,…

A whole thread of kittehz!! Happy happy days :-D

My current favorite is Titanium by David Guetta, but I listen to everything from punk to pop (I love Katy Perry, her songs are very motivating), as long as it's got a good beat to cycle or run to :-)

Hahaha! It begins... it happens to the least active of us all, a 5k here, a spartan race there, oh yeah a sprint triathlon why not? Next thing you know Tough Mudder\Ironman\Swimming the English Channel. It's the way it goes I'm afraid ;-) EDIT: Added "English" for our American cousins :-)

That is some excellent work :-D I think entries to events are fantastic rewards (because they are quite expensive so not an every weekend type of deal). I am about to explode with excitement for this one though, I did a 70.3 about 2 years ago in 6.5 hours, this time I will be lighter and stronger than I ever could have…

Rewarded myself for 6 kg lost with a 70.3 triathlon entry :-)

Delicious :-) I have the salads for lunch quite often because I travel with work a lot. I think they are much better for me than the other fast food \ restaurant options available.

I am actually in the healthy weight range already but just want to lose a little more and tone up. I work with surgeons, sometimes cosmetic surgeons and the rudest thing someone has ever said (he was about to do a liposuction and breast augmentation) was "you'd be a perfect candidate for this surgery because you have a…

Thanks so much! Energy gels make me so sick I have to have something else to fuel me, these look absolutely delicious!

Matchbox 20 - How far we've come and Katie Perry - Roar :-) cheesy but effective.

Lol :-D

My cat is not overweight but she does help me by keeping me company if I'm cycling indoors and also forcing me to go longer when I do planks because she tries to sit under me when I'm doing them. If I am in the middle of a plank and I don't want to squash her I have to keep going til she moves! She's adorable :-)

Lived with my boyfriend of 6 years. I lost 60 odd lbs and he didn't find me attractive anymore so we ended it. I'm lucky though because now I have a lovely boyfriend (of 4 years so far ;-)) who enjoys exercising and eating well just like I do :-) Edit: Neither ex nor current partners have or have ever had weight issues.

Before I came to MFP I had already lost about 60lbs and have kept it off for around 5 years. I eat a normal diet of healthy food plus crisps/chocolate/cake/whatever really, as long as I stick under my target anything goes. I really enjoy what people call 'bad' food and will not give it up because I actually want to be…

Hahahaha! Too true.

Sorry, this might be the only time I ever get to write this sentence, I believe it's butter the devil you know. :-P. I love butter, wouldn't swap it for anything else, I would rather not have anything.

I'm the same, once I start eating. I've found that any food with nuts in it (muesli etc) work well for me, helping to avoid the crazy hunger feeling, and also I find exercise helps. Just getting up and walking away. Fruit has a tendency to set off my hunger so I try to stick to cucumber and celery instead. With the…

Well done, you look amazing!

I don't really know what to say to that, except I feel so sad for you, no one wants to be invisible. I think maybe you should go see your doctor or talk to a counselor or even your boyfriend? You've made a choice though by saying you want to get rid of it forever, and a healthy calorie deficit and a little exercise will…

You can definitely see it in your face! Congratulations :-)
