  • Cindy, The warm chocolate pudding recipe looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing ::flowerforyou:
  • What you heard was true! We have a hawk that resides in our back woods and he has made mincemeat of all the squirrel population. I have seen him swoop down and pick them up like he's scooping up a feather. We had someone in the area have their Yorkie grabbed, but the woman had the dog on an extend leash and she was able to…
  • Michele: My crock pot does not have a timer, but you can certainly put the bowls in the frig. Bad day today...week 10 of a diet with exercise and still no weight loss. Realy getting frustrated and just can't figure out what I am doing wrong. How much exercise (time-wise) are all of you doing a day? Maybe I am not at it…
  • Michele: I bought a new crock pot last year - really it's a three in one crockpot. It's a Hamilton Beach with 2 qt, 4 qt and 6 qt bowls that fit into a base. It's really easy to clean and gives you the option of different size bowls. I finally had to get rid of my "harvest gold" crock pot that was 40 years old (wedding…
  • Wow, I am off the computer for two days and have so much catching up to do with all of you  Had a great visit with my son. We went to our favorite family owned pizza place at the shore and was really proud of myself - only two slices of plain very thin crust pizza. Of course, then we had to stop at the old favorite…
  • Vicki: Congrats on the weight loss over vacation! I think the light bulb has finally gone on for me...Hubby is always telling me that I don't eat enough and in the past I was the only person I knew who would lose weight on vacation and over the holidays. It must have been because I wasn't eating enough when at home and…
  • Oh Jackie, I laughed and laughed at your joke about the diet company. Have a good evening, everyone!
  • Auntiebk: The big 60 happens on the 21st of this month - I like your sister's comment  There are a lot of pet pics on this site - I just love seeing everyone's "furry" children. My two cockers are Finnegan (on the left) and Willow aka The Princess (on the right). I volunteer with a Cocker Spaniel rescue group in the…
  • Oh, Maryann....that was a good one!!!
  • Thanks for the welcome, ladies! It looks like this is a great thread and I look forward to sharing this weight loss/healthier lifestyle with all of you. Have a good evening, everyone!
  • Hi Everyone! Just found this post and am excited to find a new thread. Especially since I see that some of you are hitting the 60 mark this year - me too, this month. It's kind of eerie thinking that I am at that milestone this year and still carrying around 40 ugly pounds. I joined MFP in Feb. but have not lost any…
  • Hi Superpup! I, too, have trouble eating all my calories (especially with added exercise calories) but thanks to all the good advice about healthy snacks, adding things to a sandwich, more fruit, etc. I am getting there! If you look at the women 40+ thread, there is a lot of helpful hints there. Good luck.
  • Congrats Amy! What a great inspiration. Catherine1979: I noticed your goals for weight loss pretty much match mine. Good luck!
  • cdavis1126: Was that protein, carbs, fat, etc per meal? I haven't lost anything in three weeks on this program and wonder if my "breakdown" of carbs, fat and protein are mixed up. I do exercise 5 days a week at least 40 minutes. My net calories are suppposed to be 1410 plus whatever I add for exercise. Thanks!
  • Aren't those chocolate cheerios great? I put crushed almonds on top of mine...increases the fiber and protein.
  • Hi Caralyn, How is your week going? I have been on this for about 10 days and still no weight loss - very frustrating! And...due to all the snow we are getting here in DC, my water aerobics classes are constantly being cancelled. Thank goodness for the treadmill. Saw that you have lost 8 lbs. so far - good work!!
  • I turn 60 next month and the weight the past few years has just been piling on. I joined MFP this week and found a lot of useful info. One major thing I discovered was that I was not eating enough and had put my body into starvation mode. Good luck with your journey.
  • Hi, I live in the MD/VA/DC area as well and am enjoying all this snow - just wish I had a mountain to ski on :) Wow - the snow is still coming and we are wondering how much we will end up with. A good walk in the snow will probably burn a lot of calories. I use my treadmill when the weather is bad. Just joined MFP this…
  • I am also new today - this looks like a great site with lots of info!
  • Loved the pic!!!!!
  • Wow! Congrats on your weight loss. Love the dolphin pic...
  • Hi Sarah, I am also new to this program as of today! I posted something earlier, but as I am also new to all this posting stuff, I am not sure if it went through. Here's my question: I did my nutritional profile and it told me I should have 1900 calories a day with an exercise calorie deficit of 500 - do I eat 1900…
  • Welcome to the group! You will love this site.
  • Hi, First day for me! Did my nutritional goals and I am confused about one thing...my net calories consumed was listed as 1410/day with a calorie deficit of 500 per day with exercise. Does that mean that I should be eating 1910 calories per day and workout for a 500 calorie loss? I have been on weight watchers and gained…
